There's a bathroom that only kind of smells. Close by is the lighthouse. It has a small museum. This area would seem to attract many tourists. It however doesn't seem that crowded. Most people are on the beach but but that many though. It seems cleaner than many beaches. The sand doesn't have a lot of cigarette butts and litter. It's kept clean pretty good. The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.

Yes, you read that correctly, we surfed on a river in Pennsylvania. Ian's skills in surfing, SUP and teaching produce an experience you will never forget. We were on surf boards "catching a wave" and SUPs navigating the river and when we tired from that we let the river current and eddy take us on a relaxing ride. Ian had everything we needed from booties to helmets. He made all of us comfortable from the moment we met him and assured us we would be safe, we'd catch a wave and have fun doing so; he was right on. A few days later we signed up for the SUPing on the Allegheny River with Ian. Paddling around the Allegheny islands all the way to a large dam. Pretty darn thrilling. Ian's knowledge of the area made the trip educational as well, who knew there was so much to learn about the Allegheny Islands. Our most recent adventure was interrupted by storms, but they gave us as much "make up time" on the water as we wanted. They are super nice and friendly, and when we forgot our sunblock, they gave us some that someone had left behind. They didn't try to sell us any. It's $10 per hour per rental, which is super cheap. Everything was clean and in great shape. You go to their store, and then follow them in your own car to the lake. It's a one minute drive. Then they help you into the yak and off you go. They either come back to get the yaks at the time you want, or you can call or text them to come back. Great people, great experience, great price, great equipment. What else could you ask for?!?!
