This was such a great studio! It was my first time (I got there early as instructed) and i got a nice tour of the place. You should get there stearly if you want to pick a good reformer. The studio is half inside half outside. If you are outside, it might get a bit toasty, but they have a bunch of fans blowing. I love how everything is pink. It is definitely instagram worthy and aesthetically pleasing. The class itself was tough and i definitely felt my thighs quivering. The instructor was so sweet. I was just a little disappointed because i thought i was going to be able to have a good view on the rooftop but the outside windows are covered in tarp. I would still return for the good workout class! read more

This is a thoroughly punishing workout. The megaformer classes are fast and relentless. I certainly felt the burn for days afterward. The instructor had excellent posture and a very motivating, demanding energy. She corrected my alignment exactly once. I appreciated the attention. The studio itself is clean and the lighting is quite forgiving. My only complaint is the parking. The street restrictions are a nightmare. Do not arrive in a car you care about valet-ing. Also, the transitions are too quick for the uninitiated. Four stars because the waiting area is entirely too cramped for the post-class crowd. read more

This posting is long overdue. I found Carrie's Pilates during COVID. I had taken a class with almost every mediocre instructor except for one, Noel. She's an amazing instructor, professional, and super sweet. She's the only thing great about Carrie's Pilates. During that time I had to miss a class. I had personally spoken to Carrie and she was nothing but rude inconsiderate, unprofessional, had a potty mouth and I couldn't believe that she could own such an establishment. A completely unreasonable woman with a false sense of entitlement. I am from the westside and I have heard rumors that her history is unsavory to be kind. I would never recommend this Pilates studio (except with Noel), I take Pilates all over Los Angeles and we will never return here. Neither will my friends. Ladies, beware that the woman who represents this establishment is unkind, unprofessional, rude, entitled, and not approachable whatsoever. After class, we could hear the girls speaking about the owner as if she were impossible to deal with. Unfortunately, it was during COVID and work was sparse, and had to deal with her. They made it very clear she was a nightmare to deal with. Carrie's Pilates is everything about Pilates that you don't want. It's the McDonald's Pilates. This is the worst Pilates studio in LA - save your money and time. There are a ton of excellent Pilates studios on the west side that have a far better vibe and less attitude than Carrie's to her business. read more

I really wanted to like Carrie's Pilates, but unfortunately my experience was consistently disappointing. The instructors felt disengaged and inconsiderate. There was little to no guidance, no hands-on corrections, and absolutely no modifications offered. Most classes felt like the instructor was simply reading exercises off a list rather than teaching with intention or awareness of the room. The workout itself was surprisingly boring and repetitive, and it didn't reflect the full range of motion or mindful flow that Pilates was actually designed for. There was very little emphasis on form, breath, or progression, which defeats the purpose of doing Pilates in the first place. On top of that, the business practices were frustrating. I was charged incorrectly for classes and they refused to resolve the issue. Being double-charged without proactive communication is not acceptable. Los Angeles has so many incredible Pilates studios with knowledgeable instructors and thoughtful programming. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a true Pilates experience. read more

I was really excited to try this studio and had planned to make it part of my routine before work. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk completely changed that. I tried booking through ClassPass, but there must have been a glitch because my reservation didn't go through. When I arrived, the front desk asked for my name, and nothing was mentioned about any issue, so I assumed I was good to go and joined the class. About 5 minutes into the session--while I was literally in the middle of a plank--the front desk staff came up to me and told me I wasn't signed up. I checked my ClassPass and realized something had gone wrong. I said I had no problem paying, but asked if I could take care of it after class so I wouldn't disrupt the session. Instead, I was told I had to stop and pay right then and there, so I gave her my credit card so I can just get back to my plank! It was honestly really disappointing. I was already in class, in the middle of a workout, and more than willing to pay. This could have easily been handled after class, as I've experienced at other studios, where they are more considerate of not interrupting clients mid-session. The class itself was great, but the way this situation was handled felt unnecessary and disruptive. It really took away from what could have been a positive experience. read more

Cute 2 story place, they use the mega former like MDR. Think this was the most cutely decorated pilates studio I've been to. Not completely booked out on a Friday night (abs & a$$) when I went. I thought it was okay, prefer Pilates Platinum or MDR Culver City that offer a more upbeat vibe/more instruction- but could have been just the specific class I went to. Can park in the neighborhood - move car before 7pm, the metered spots, or think they offer $3 (?) validation to the lot across the street! Would come back if it was a good price on ClassPass but otherwise would try somewhere else! read more

Been coming to Carries for several years now since they were at the 3rd street location pre-covid. Tried several other pilates/lagree places in LA, but I always find myself coming back to Carries. They are intense, challenging, and FUN! My go-to favorite trainers are Alyssa and Charity, and I also love taking Christian's Abs & A$$ classes sometimes! Alyssa's classes are really challenging, always targets different areas of my body, and it never feels "too repetitive or boring". I know i had a good work out the day after I take Alyssa's classes because I am A LOT MORE SORE than usual. She also has some bomb music playlists that get me pumped during the classes, like I am at a party/club!! So much fun. Charity's classes are all about perfect forms, and I do enjoy her classes, as she always shows some new challenging work out / forms. More mellow music playlist that gets me zen and focused on my forms. And her instructions are really clear and easy to understand, and love her positive bubbly energy! I also enjoy taking the Abs & Ass classes, because sometimes thats what I want to target & improve! This was LOOOOONG overdue review. I recently got the gold membership, and I am so glad I did! Excited to continue coming here, and continue getting better with my health and mind. Hopefully they add new perks like bringing a friend in gold membership because I always talk about how much I love coming here to all my coworkers and friends but they are a little hesitant to invest at first bc it can get a bit pricey. Worst experience at a reformer Pilates studios ever. The instructor Carine was dreadful. She was yelling directions and moving the pace so erratically that the class was a sh*t show of people being lost in what to do and someone even hurt themselves. This wasn't controlled and counted movements that you usually have on a reformer with pace and clear direction. It was rushed I'll-instructed class taught by someone complaining about their work day who wanted to "get this over with to go home." Class was way overbooked and they just cram people outside if the reformers inside are full, which made it harder for everyone to follow along as the instructor was just running back and forth yelling in the mic. The topping on the cake was even though the terrible music was at top volume level you could hear the rusted machines squeaking over everything. Not just a little rust, there was rust all over. Very disappointing. There are a ton of Pilates studios in LA and if you're spending $45-$55 per class it should be worth it. This was a a complete waste. read more

Lol worst experience I've ever had that it's laughable. If you want to act like an influencer and take photos to show that you worked out, this is the place for you. They have half the class outside in the deadass heat and the instructor doesn't even care about their existence. Everyone pays for the same experience and class but if you happen to be the unlucky one then you pay to do Pilates sweating balls, outside with a janky matching. Definitely not worth it. read more

I am very new to Carrie's Pilates, as I usually go to Megaformer on La Cienega, but my friends kept raving about Carrie's, so I tried it. Despite being in a parking lot with cars driving by I thought my first and only class was enjoyable. On the morning of my second class, at 5:30 AM, I woke up with a dry cough and thought it wasn't the best idea to still go to class while coughing during a global pandemic that one of the symptoms is a dry cough. I sent a message to Carrie's and to let them know the situation and asked that my class be refunded. I was shocked at the response: "We understand the concern and appreciate your concern for our clients and staff, but unfortunately we are unable to issue any type of refund without a doctor's note. We also do have a 12 hour cancelation period, and this morning prior to class is not enough time for other clients to sign up so we wouldn't be able to return your class without a fee. Please let us know if you are able to send a doctor's note and we'd be able to return your class for a $10 fee!" Way to put profits and money way over the safety and well being of your customers. Had I contracted Covid-19 (test just came back negative) I could have put the lives of 8-12 other paying customers at risk. I unfortunately bought a set of classes so I will probably go back to use them but BUYER BEWARE, all they care about is your money, and not your well being. read more

I started going during lockdown, when classes were being held outdoors in a parking lot. The workout helped keep me sane and I never stopped. Now the studio is in a gorgeous space on La Cienega and I love the whole experience even more! I've been to other megaformer studios while traveling and none of them even came close. It's usually a masculine or utilitarian vibe and the instructors are nowhere near as encouraging. Keep in mind that cute does NOT mean easy: in my experience Carrie's is the hardest workout in LA. Don't let that scare you if you're more of a beginner as the instructors give you a choice of 2 or 3 difficulty levels for each move. My favorite teacher is Charity (the bubbliest but also the toughest!) but I've never had a bad one here. I've always been active but my body is sooo much stronger now and I have a booty and actual abs. Thanks, Carrie's! read more

My friend introduced me to Carrie's a few months ago. I'm not a athletic person so first classes were so hard to the point I would almost threw up. Luckily, my incredible teacher, Charity, invited me to keep pushing and that it will get easier as I build muscles. 2.5 months in.... Awwww I take 3 classes a week, my body starts looking damn fine, and I keep coming back to hear Charity encouraging me each class. She pays attention to each detail of your position so you can improve. She wants you to win and get better!! How amazing!! Love the music curation, every class is unique, it's never the same exercices so you don't feel bored. Do yourself a favor and start today!
