Melrose Pilates is a great studio with wonderful energy run by a caring and knowledgeable owner and staffed by talented instructors. As someone who has been doing Pilates for a long time I have been to many studios in many cities across the world and I really enjoy the attention to detail, ability to work with clients' different needs, and overall dedication to the art/science that is Pilates found at Melrose Pilates. I have worked with Gia, the owner, and she is a great person and a conscientious teacher. I have also worked with Shana and Abbe, both of whom have impressive backgrounds and really know what they are doing/how to effectively teach. I have yet to train with Courtney; however I hope to do so very soon! Melrose Pilates is an intimate studio setting which I appreciate as you feel like part of a community rather than just another body coming to pay for a service. Everyone there really seems to care about the clients, and that is so important when doing body work. I have also been the beneficiary of some great pricing/package specials that the studio runs, which has enabled me to stay in shape without breaking the bank (soooo important in these financial times). Not often does one find quality and the right price in the same place, so that has been a special find! Seriously, get going and get in shape in a wonderful place where you will see results, feel wonderful about yourself and meet discerning, well-trained instructors who will take you to the next level of your practice, help you to begin an effective Pilates regimen, or anything you want. I have been going to this studio on and off for about a year. The class size is small, no more than 4 students at a time. I initially came in with horrible back pain. Actually my chiropractor recommended pilates. Right away, Shana (my favorite instructor) was there for me. Some of my lessons felt more one on one as opposed to a group. Following about 10 sessions my back was in much better shape. I have tried other studios and can tell you that this is the place if you are serious about pilates and want to reap the most benefit from your sessions. Shauna Michele teaches a semi-private amazing class with music that is second to none. I took two classes of hers in a row. I am not sore and I actually feel in control my core! She was able to explain to me what was happening with my body and helped me create an inner dialogue with each exercise allowing me to set myself up for maximum alignment. She was able to see the areas I needed work on and help me be mindful of the work. read more

I have to start with saying I've taken Pilates at almost every studio in LA. My first time back to Pilates since a knee injury and Sarah was my teacher. The class was a semi private and she went above and beyond with being incredibly conscience of rehabbing my knee, rather than overworking it. Very technical and incredibly educated on the muscles and movements involved in all the Pilates techniques. Awesome class and teacher and I will be back! This is not the fanciest studio, but the machines are nice and clean and the workout is really what you are there for. ;) read more

I love this Pilates Studio. It feels like what I imagine to be old school, traditional, pure pilates. Renee and Shana are both so knowledgable, in tune and hands on. Only 5 reformers, so it does feel like a private session because everyone gets attention. The space is clean and simple. Its always a challenging workout and there's a lot of emphasis on form, which I appreciate. My knee pain and back pain are practically gone since I started here with classpass. I definitely try to hit my 3 per month. highly recommend! People on here who deduct stars for a full parking lot need to relax and park on the street, its really not a big deal. People who deduct stars for no music are not really understanding what this is about, which is breathing, core-strengthing and form. more in the vibe of yoga and less of an EDM-y high energy bootcamp or some pilates hybrid workout. read more

Shauna is the best Pilates instructor I've ever had. She's really nice and attentive and caring with her students and she pays a lot of attention to injuries, which is great. Also, English is not my first language and she knows I sometimes don't understand the exercises so she always makes sure that I'm doing them correctly. I really appreciate it. Melrose Pilates is one of my favorite studios in LA. The location is great and the studio has a fantastic vibe that makes the work out even better. I take semi-private lessons with Shauna Michele and she is incredible. She has been working with me over the past couple months and every time I leave her class I feel ready to take on the world. She pays detailed attention to everyone's level and progress and carries that over from class to class to make sure she is giving you a workout that is effective and beneficial to your specific body. I can both see and feel the changes my body is going through since starting with her and I absolutely love it. On top of all that she has an amazing personality, makes you feel extremely comfortable while still challenging you to push yourself and plays great music throughout. this is a hidden jewel. there are only four reformers, 2 cadillacs, one chair, and some other great looking machine. if u r new you will get excellent attention, and if u are advanced u will get excellent attention. there are two instructors. shana and holly, and they are very different, and they boh offer different styles, and individual attention. they actually watch each and every one to correct, and talk u through it. they even change the weights for you for your indiviual level. with only four reformers, and sometimes, only 2 in a class, u truly get a lot of attention in every single class, not just some instruction telling u what to do. i go 6 days a week, as im addicted. and did i mention free parking. read more

Awesome place. Tried a few Pilates studios and now I am a devotee to this place. The class sizes are small, you get individual attention (you can even do the Cadillac in these group sessions which is rare). Each of the instructors is awesome - Shana is incredible and is also an acrobat! Incredible! Renee and Jocelyn are awesome as well. I have some major back issues and started my pilates journey through physical therapy. Eventually my insurance cut me off PT so I found Melrose Pilates through Yelp and gave it a try. This is my first experience with a pilates studio, so I have nothing else to compare it to, but I LOVE going here and try to do it at least twice a week. I go to an 8:30 am class and parking is never a problem. My first class was with Renee and she gave me plenty of attention, as did Shana when I took her class. They are both very knowledgeable and I love that I learn different things from each of them. I have also had substitutes a few times and they have also been wonderful. I am a no-frills kind of person so I don't need the studio to be beautiful to get a great workout... it is very practically laid out and accommodates a max of about 8 people. 5 reformers and 3 cadillacs, but the class sizes are 1-5 people. There are also regulars who work out on their own. As I've been going there for a while now, I have developed relationships with some of the other women who I see regularly and we chat while we work out, which makes it more enjoyable. I highly recommend this studio! read more

Melrose pilates is a workout that I always look forward to. First, there's free parking with an attendant. Second, the classes are small (no more than 5 students) so they can really pay attention to form and personalize the workouts a bit. Shana, Shauna and Renee are all wonderful instructors who really know what they're talking about. Even though you're laying down most of the workout, my inner thighs and abs are often sore the next day. read more

just wanted to let you know how great this studio is. i just moved here a few months ago, and have tried MANY studios, and this one is top notch. gia the owner is kind and helpful, and will steer you in the right direction re:teachers. she keeps a small but clean and comfortable studio, and free parking! my FAVE teacher is by far Courtney, or AB Queen, as i like to call her. she will strengthen your core in NO TIME! she is sweet but tough, and she will work your butt of for one hour. i drive an hour to get there 2-3 times a week for this gal. you won't be disappointed. great rates too.
