I am a 60 something widow. I retired with a part time care giving job supplementing my income, but really needed something more substantial that would pay well. My daughter suggested I probably have many useful years left since my uncle is still a practicing chiropractor at 90 years old. She encouraged me to take the leap into becoming a medical assistant. A medical assistant works very closely with the doctor and has a wide range of responsibilities ranging from overseeing the front office to assisting with patients in the back office. I believe I would really enjoy working in that environment. I made an appointment with Wayne at Carrington College. In a very short time I was ready to go, signed up for classes, with a Pell Grant and student loan, scrubs, and text books. I am really enjoying my teacher and classmates! The youngsters have accepted this old lady as one of them. I just took my first class final and got 86%.... wooohoooo! I am getting a lot of support and encouragement from the faculty. The Medical Assistant course takes ten months. Six weeks of that will include an externship with a doctors office where I will get hands on training. There are a lot of choices waiting for me. By that time I will be a valuable asset to whoever hires me. My 91 year old Mom and 40 something kids think what I am doing is terrific!!! My life has suddenly taken on new energy, and has become very exciting! Oh yes.... I look really cool in my grey scrubs, yellow lanyard, and my sharp new hairstyle! I traded in my big purse for a lime green book bag. I'm good to go! I would encourage anybody who has retired, and is thinking about finding another career to check out what Carrington College has to offer. My name is Kelly and I have been attending Carrington College since the end of February 2011. Carrington College gives you an opportunity to reach new goals, and create for yourself a steady career. I am mother and work part time. Carrington works with my schedule. They offer classes in the morning, evening, or at night. You can choose out of those three options with what works best with your schedule. I am going to school to be a MA (Medical Assistant). Once you enroll, you are given all the books you need in order to attend school. The teachers are very knowledgeable about the subjects they teach. They are very organized and let you know at the beginning of each course when things are due or when test are going to be taken. That's a great help to many of us that work, and have to arrange certain days off. What I like about learning at Carrington is the ability to ask questions after school or getting to school early to ask questions. The teachers take the time to make sure you understand what they are teaching. They give what extra time they have to you. It makes me feel very confident in the things I'm learning. I decided to check Carrington out after a Google search I did. I met with a school counselor who was very kind and was able to answer all my questions about the school and the MA program. He definitely sold me on Carrington, I started school the next day and am almost half way through. I'm truly pleased with my decision to attend Carrington, not only was this a great path for me, but also one that would provide for my family and help us with stability. read more

I graduated from the Medical Billing and Coding Program this summer and couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. I'm going to start from the beginning, the admissions coordinator was very nice and made sure to send me text alerts as to when I needed to get my books and do my orientation. Books and scrubs are included in the price, so that's great. They also give you a brand new iPad. Once I started classes, I was very happy with my professor. He is a great professor and he always goes above and beyond to make sure we understand the material, especially with the coding practice exercises. There are weekly quizzes so you need to put in the effort to do your study guides and practice coding. There is also a project due at the end of each course which helped me develop more knowledge about my topics of choice. I really liked that we also had to participate in workshops, which helped prepare us for our future job search. My career adviser was very sweet and she helped me find a job right away. Price wise, it was on the expensive side but it is a private college so I knew what to expect. However I do not have any regrets, because I've seen people on the internet who went to other schools and are still unemployed a year after graduating. So I feel like investing in Carrington college was very well worth it. So for all of you thinking about enrolling, don't hesitate! read more

It was a great experience in the nursing program in this school; personally, I studied hours and hours for my future in this nursing program. If you are willing to sign up for a nursing program, you should be prepared mentally, financially, and emotionally for the nursing program and nursing career. Nobody has studied nursing programs without tears, staying up all night, fear, anxiety, and feeling of giving up in moments throughout the program. The motivation and feeling to keep pushing is what you expect during and after the program because a nursing career is challenging at any point. If you think you can sign up without reading, please choose something else; if you want to sign up and keep a full-time job, please save money before you sign up; if you think you can sign up and pass the program without putting effort, time, tears, and keep pushing, you are wasting your time and money. I admire my instructors and Dean for how they organize their communications, coordination, and support for their students; in fact, I could communicate during the semester breaks and seek their guidance before the next semester. Don't listen to the negative comments because you need intensive guidance in order to reach for what you signed up for in the first place. read more

I began taking Medical Assistant classes at Carrington College in October 2010. I'm a 45 year old mother who's children left our home to lead their own lives. I was so use to having to take care of my children that when they left I felt like there was an emptiness in my life. I decided to do something to fill my void and that was to go back to school. I had checked other schools out but found that Carrington College was the one I wanted to attend. I'm glad I made the right choice! The instructors are just wonderful people who actually love what they do, and are dedicated to helping students learn even if it means coming in early to help you when you need it. I have made many friends at Carrington, young & older and we all help each other in study groups. I have referred a couple of friends of mine from work to attend and one of them actually started coming to school with me at night. If I choose to continue my education further at a later time, I will be coming back to Carrington. read more

wow I'm not even sure where to start carrington was great to me. However hearing about all of the new changes and new school taking over is not great to hear! it saddens me to know that Mr Thompson, Corey, not really clear of the studen advisor mane was and my Teacher Mr C, is no longer there! that is really sad especially a teacher who was there day in and out knowing us and helping us through every step of the way ! I hate to see a family be rip apart! i had only Mr Director Of MA and Mr C backing me of course Mr T too and a few others I'll keep to myself helping. if letting anyone go would be that nicole but save that for another day ! My name is Destiny and I have been going to Carrington College since 03/23/11 I'm 25 years old married with one child and a GED I really was very worried about going back to school. The teachers are really cool and down to Earth but they do expect you to do your homework and do the best you can in class. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to make a change in their $7.00 an hour job. Or just needs a little push into the one thing they feel that they could never do, start saying you can instead of I can't. Recent graduate from the Respiratory Care Program and i could not have been happier with the entire experience. From the first day I walked on campus to do an initial visit and decide if I even wanted to go back to school everyone has been absolutely amazing!!! Everyone at Carrington has been friendly and caring. The program director is absolutely wonderful! The instructors are amazing! Everyone is so enthusiastic about the RC profession and program and it resonates to the students and makes you want to succeed that much more. They want you to pass your board exams and will give any extra help if needed. Their goal is to have happy successful RRTs and it shows!!! I started the Health Care Administration program at Carrington College in September of 2010. After working for 22 years, my job was outsourced, so I decided to start a new career. To do that, I needed some new skills and Carrington College had what I needed. A fast paced program that would enable me to get back out in the work force as soon as possible. I have met some amazing people and all of the staff has been extremely helpful. The instructors are dedicated to their students and will do whatever it takes to help you succeed. Their practical experiences have been very helpful in my learning. This is the worst college to go to. Upon graduation I suddenly owed $3000 in order to graduate. Then when I paid it making sure that was all I owed...month after graduation I received a bill saying I still owe nearly $2000. Supposedly they help you get a job after graduation and I can barely get anyone to even answer my emails! Beware and do not go there if there are any other options for you! Any other college would be a better idea even if they suck! My student loans should have covered everything yet now I'm expected to pay $5000 out of pocket when they got all of my student loan and I got nothing from it! Worst choice ever! Update: Still haven't heard from anyone at the school...shocking! read more

I've been attending carrington for almost a year now in their respiratory care program. I've had the opportunity to grow in many aspects. I wouldn't be able to progress in my studies without some of our great instructors. Tori Lewis, incredible. She is a wonderful teacher and always goes above and beyond every single time. Chyanne Perea, incredible as well. She is willing to go the extra mile to make sure each of her students feel confident in what she's teaching. She is kind and patient. Worse experience no communication I was a student online when signing up, they promised they will keep up with students with communication when being online never received a call or voicemail about a paper needed sign to graduate three weeks before graduation. I was drop no call or anything the email about this form went to spam and now I have to wait 180 days to re-apply. This could've been avoided by just a simple phone call and I would've got it signed right away but now I have to wait 180 days to re-applied to the school and this is not the first issue I had don't recommend this school at all especially online read more

Just Graduated from the respiratory therapy program recently and I was not one bit dissatisfied! The program director and instructors were beyond my expectations. They knew what they were talking about, they were all so smart! I will forever be grateful for them. They stayed on top of it, pushed me all the way to graduation and even after! They make sure you're good and if you need help they were always there as long as you put in the effort. It was a challenge but so worth it! Ms.Perea is such an amazing professor! She takes time to really educate her students and explains things in different ways, always ensuring that we understand the material. If something goes wrong she makes sure to fix it. Nobody's perfect. She has truly been there since day 1 and I have learned so much thanks to her. She even started having study groups outside of class to make sure we understand it all. There's no such thing as a dumb question and I feel extremely safe in her class. I was part of the Medical Assisting Program and all I can really say is it was a great experience!!! I was really nervous about joining the medical field but right away felt so welcomed at this school! Mr.C and Ms. Lewis are the best they definitely go above and beyond for their students. My experience with Carrington College's dental assisting program has been great! The hands-on training and supportive instructors made learning both engaging and practical. The small class sizes allowed for more one-on-one help, which really helped me build confidence in my skills.
