I gave less than a 5 total because when I walked in I had asked for my order and they told me they were still working on it even though Uber Eats said it was ready online. No biggie. I sat and waited. After ten minutes I went back up to ask about the order again and it was sitting in the window. I ordered a plain croissant, a smoothie and a cortado, gave a $2 tip and spent $25 in total for only these item. The place was not busy, only three other customers who were already eating and it still took them more than 20 minutes to get me the food. I was dining in. When I got the croissant, it was not fresh, hot from being warmed up in a microwave and completely brittle. The inside was hard as a rock from being overcooked. I showed it to them and asked for another one. Asked if they were fresh and I was told yes, but it was not the case. The second croissant was a little softer but still hard and brittle/ not fresh at all. It was not flaky and soft as a croisant should be. I ate what I could but I was starving and already had a migraine, which is why I walked in to get something to eat... but I was extremely disappointed. Quality control needs to go to this place ASAP and coach the team on what quality food is. Also even though I was dining in, they brought the croissant in a little brown bag. I love Carrot Express. This would be one of my favorite branches for it too! I have been coming here for months and it remains one of the best places for a healthy yet tasty meal. They also show each dish on a slide show on the tv screen so you can get a better understanding of what you're ordering which I think is great. The staff is nice and the place is always clean and it's spacious, with outdoor seating available too. I've tried almost all the bowls and all the salads by now. I have tried their vegan desserts, their probiotic shots, and their yuca chips are the best!!! Sometimes I come here just for the chips! I have some comfort dishes: -Avocado Toast -Chicken Cesar Wrap -Turkey Burger -Veggie Burger (although I'm not vegan! Definitely one of my top options) -the chicken bowl For dessert: -the vegan triple chocolate cake These never fail to satisfy my stomach and they're very nutritious and rich in flavor. Came here on a Friday afternoon and it was empty. Occasionally people would come in and take orders to go so I was able to order right away. I ordered the LIV wrap and sat down. The restaurant itself is very clean. When the wrap came I was a little disappointed with the portion size of the cilantro sauce but I guess next time I'll have to order another one for my personal preference. The wrap itself is very good. Tastes fresh and healthy. Overall, I would order from here again. I would like to try different menu items. The only issue I had was the staff. They really seemed like they did not want to be there. Between the cashier and the food runner and the other employee behind the counter, they all were sitting and talking like if I did not exist. When I got up I tried to get one of their attention to know whether I leave my tray on the table or if there was somewhere to put it, they were too busy in their conversation to notice me. I made my order and took a seat. I got the green goddess salad with the lime cilantro dressing and grilled chicken. I had a smoothie that was brought over to the table. It was yummy- strawberry, banana mango. My salad was brought out next, it was fresh, veggies were crisp and the chicken was tasty. It's a good portion size so I was able to take half home. When this place first opened we loved their smoothies and even though we were paying a little bit more for them than usual we didn't mind as they were being made perfectly. Now their smoothies are anything but smooth. We've ordered many times from them in hopes that maybe it was just a couple of mistakes but for the past 8 months all the smoothies have come out with pieces of fruit or ingredients that have not been blended well. I know a well-made smoothie because I make them at home and I use some of the ingredients that they do including dates etc. I'm not sure if it's just bad training or not putting the time into making them correctly. I just can't justify paying over $10 for a smoothie anymore thats not blended properly. Another thing is that their hot wraps also have good flavor but many times now they have come out so hot that I've burned my mouth and had to wait a really long time to be able to finally eat them. I went in today and ordered an avocado toast, peach wellness drink, and a strawberry Matcha. I asked her what comes on the avocado toast. She named everything off. And she's explaining to me that she's the store manager, but yet she's giggling like something is funny. And I asked her are you looking at my receipt, she says yes. So why is there feta on my avocado toast when I specifically only asked for salt, pepper and oil. I asked for my refund. She says that she initiated the refund so I'll believe her when she says that. But I'm completely fed the f up. I'm glad she gave me a refund because I will never ever step foot into another carrot express in my life. It is unbelievable that there is a problem with my order EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO. And after I wrote this review, I'm trying to enjoy my peach wellness drink, and I noticed a long ass hair just sticking out of the side of my cup. Yeah no more for me. It's really sad because there's no good place to get an avocado toast at anywhere south of this carrot express, so it's either I go to this carrot express or drive three extra miles to Pura Vida. I was so happy when I saw they opened one by London square as it's closer to my house, although I went to check it out today and I was disappointed.
