My friends and I had the BEST experience with Carr's, doing a 10 mile float to Pulltite. They were late in picking us up from our lodge but the driver stepped out and profusely apologized and owned up to his error. He was very sweet and professional, talking to us along the way about the area and what to expect from our trip. Upon arriving, the staff setting up the raft were super helpful and reassuring to a friend of mine, who's not as familiar with being on the water. Their 6 person raft was roomy enough for the 4 of us along with a small cooler, dry bag and towels we brought along. We had such a peaceful float on the Current River and had even been given (by our driver) advice on where to find a small cave and spring that was large enough to navigate in. We also saw turtles, a heron, a small weasel, too many birds and butterflies to count and dragonflies landing on our raft along the way. The color of the water, small bluffs and expansive green shores and blue skies, made this a memorable day. Carr's provided a wonderful and safe way to have this experience. Upon arriving, as they assured us, it was very easy to spot the place we hauled in. Within minutes of pulling in, they were there and ready to take us back to the lodge. Accommodating canoeing on the Current River. Personable driver makes sure you get to your destination safely!

A group of friends and I went about a year ago and we had a blast! They have a good price for kayaks and canoes. We paid $30 per kayak during the week. They do have a campsite over here at pulltight and you get to take a shuttle to the start of Current River. We did the 8 hour which felt like forever, but it was an awesome experience. And we had the shuttle take us back to where our car was parked. At the start and finish of the excursion they have a little house for snacks and nets and clothing. It was seriously a fun time to explore and enjoy nature. There is lots of caves, current and fun! This is totally worth a trip with the family and friends. But that sun will knock you out, so be prepared! read more

We used Carr's for a 60 mile canoe trip from Pulltite to Van Buren. The kid that delivered our canoes came back and checked on us TWICE to make sure we were good to go. We ended up having to be picked up at a different spot and that was not a problem. Our shuttle driver came early and was super conscientious when getting us loaded back up and on the drive back to our vehicles. What a great company! I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

We used Carr's for kayaks. We did the Akers Ferry to Round Spring (22 miles) trip. I made the reservations about one week in advance. I have used a lot of liveries and they are all about the same. Nice office. Nice equipment. The van was clean. The ride was safe. The trip was a lot of fun. The Current River is so clear and blue. He did tell us to meet him at Round Spring but after waiting at Round Spring for a few minutes and no one being there we spoke with a ranger and she said to go to the office up the road. So he meant the Round Spring office and not actually Round Spring. Other than that, no issues. read more

Current river was beautiful. Booked 830 and was dropped off with directions to be picked up Pulltite. Bus would be there. Office told us we were last back on 830, bus driver said we have til 6pm. No way we were last as there were others behind us! Bus drivers Dillon and driver were amazing!!!! Just felt like other operations talking to locals would be a much better experience. read more

we had a very good time using one of their sister rental sites! we did the akers to pultite float. they offer an all day adventure + transportation. first time on the current river and i would absolutely use this outfitter again. everyone was super laid back and nice. the river was not packed on the sunday we went but did pass a few loud groups. can't wait to make it back out to the current! read more

If you are going to float the Current river in Missouri try to stay as far away from Carrs rental as you can. The owner is rude and if you just want a shuttle even if your group is renting boats from him he will charge crazy sums for a ride his response is "I"m in the business of renting boats!" IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN BOAT TO FLOAT THE RIVER STAY AWAY FROM CARRS. If you have a large group of people floating go to Akers or Jadwin rentals I have delt with both of these outfits and they are very good Carrs is just full of himself. I float this part of the river a lot about 7 to 10 times each summer and I will never give Carrs another dimes worth of business. You can bet our next large group float will not be renting from Carrs. read more

My friends and I have used Carr's as our go-to rental place for years. Because of our disappointing experience this year, this year will be our last. I'm so sad about our experience this past weekend. And even more disappointed that such great feeling about Carr's have turned sour. In my particular boat, a raft, there were just two adults and two small children. We jumped off the bus and got in our raft excited for the two children to experience their first float trip. The raft started losing air not even 5 minutes into our trip. We were hopeful that it would be a small leak as, without cell service and with the current, there were no options for us to turn around and trade rafts or get help. We couldn't find the leak but could tell that one pontoon in particular was losing air faster than the other. Throughout the entire float, the boat was losing air. It was nearly impossible to steer because of the unevenness of the boat and the lack of bouncy meant that we had to row hard to make any headway. The other boats in our party struggled to slow down in an effort to keep our groups together. Eventually our raft became so slow that the others simply had to go on. Throughout our float other people, not in our group, would comment on the raft. "Looks like you're losing a lot of air there", "You all gonna make it in that raft?". Many people offered advice to tell Carr's about the raft, "Make sure you tell them, I bet they'll give you something", "Just tell your rental place, they'll make it right", "You're having such a tough time, they better give you at least half of your money back". When we finally made it to the drop off site, the Carr's workers immediately saw the issue. We told the first guy that the raft had started losing air immediately. He asked us if we knew where it was coming from, we told him we did not. He told us to tell "them" at the office. A second man, our bus driver from that morning, met us on our way to the office and asked us how our trip was. We told him that it wasn't great because our raft lost so much air. He, like the first man, told us to tell the "boss man" at the office. So that's what happened. My friend, the second adult in the raft, went to the office to let the person in charge know of the faulty raft. A bad experience could have turned better, and we would continue to be Carr's customers, had the person in charge apologized and offered some sort of compensation. He did not. Instead he accused my friend of letting the air out of the raft just before we reached the end of the trip saying that, as proof, the raft had kept air in it for two weeks prior. You've got to be kidding me. Why, as repeat customers, would we suddenly decide to try to "cheat" the system? Why would we set such a terrible example to the children that were with us? What would be our motivation to lie and tarnish an experience that we so look forward to? And, frankly, how do you even let air out of one of those rafts? The fact that a raft had kept air in it for two weeks doesn't tell me anything. When I pay my rental fee I'm entering into a contract between me and the rental place. I promise them that my money is good, they promise me that their boat is good. In this case their boat just wasn't good. Carr's didn't keep their end of the deal. Instead of seeking to fix the problem in the form of compensation, and maintain a loyal customer, they were disrespectful and dismissive. read more

I have been camping at Round Spring Campground and renting canoes from Carr's every year for the past 12 years. They carry all of the basics that you might forget. I have never had an issue. I will continue to do business with them. read more

Can't say enough good things about the outstanding customer service we received from Stacy and Melissa Carr during a family float trip over Memorial Day weekend. Each morning we were picked up at our Round Springs camp sites and taken to our put-in locations. Robert who drove the shuttle bus was super friendly and always on time.
