I've been using them for over 16 years...and I love them. They are always on time and I've never had any problems with them.

I went to get my clothes cleaned because they were getting backed up and so basically I go to pick it up and their credit card machine doesn't work and I'm at the 430 mark which is means they're closed after 430 on a Friday. I basically take responsibility as if it was my fault even though I had enough money in my account to cover the cost. I go back Monday to try to get my clothes and again their credit card machine is failing at a certain point I start getting upset because I know that there's money on the account so basically after much back-and-forth with the lady she finally gets the credit cards to clear. Honestly I haven't even checked to see how my clothes are I'm sure that they did a pretty good job but overall they need to fix their credit card machine and they need to stop wasting peoples time they also don't except cash so they really give you the runaround over this credit card thing and it seems like their credit card machine dates back to 1986. No doubt do they need to get an upgraded system that takes credit cards quickly and efficiently. read more

This is the response to the Owner and his inaccurate information and unfortunate response to a loyal client of 12 years. To call a customer obnoxious is not the correct customer service of a business owner. I was waiting over a month for a response and I had to keep calling to get any information or updates. I was frustrated with the lack of communication and when I finally got a call from the Owner, his tonality and lack of empathy was horrible. Of course I had no proof as it was a gift from last year as stated but if you looked up the designer as I had stated, you would see her products and costs and It was not a knock off. And for you to say it was made in China? What does that have to do with anything? The point is and which you are forgetting as a business owner is you ruined a customer's product . Wow. So we took in a brand NEW comforter in to get it dry cleaned. We were pretty excited to see how it would look on our bed.... well once we took it out of the Carr's bag it was WET, STAINED and had HOLES in it!!!!! To top it off they wrote a note saying "sorry we couldn't remove the stain"what??? Lol it was Brand spanking new! I've gone here before always thought they were ok. Took 2 expensive coats to be cleaned (1 peacoat 1 nfl letterman jacket) peacoat was just a cleaning and came back with a tear on the hood zipper. I'm thinking they thought it was a button not a zippered hood and just tried to yank it off. Next was my NFL jacket that had a stain on the back logo. I was told that they could get it out and they didn't. That was the only reason i took it to them and when they called to tell me it was done didn't even mention the stain still being there. I had to notice the stain myself while inspection (since i didn't inspect the coat last time till i got home and reattached the hood) so now they say to leave it and they will personally try to remove the stain themselves but why didn't they do that in the first place? Drove from Modesto for this horrible service. Not a good place to take your dry cleaning. Plus the tall young male rude as hell. Worst dry cleaners in Turlock. I took a very expensive dress for dry cleaning and they said they would have it ready in a week and they called to say it wasn't ready, to go in two weeks. When I went to pick up my dress, it was lost and said they had given it to someone else by mistake. The cashier was extremely rude after admitting she personally lost my dress. I demanded to get refunded for my lost dress and she asked to give her two weeks so she could find my dress. After telling her that was unacceptable, she insulted me. I demanded to speak to the manager and after going back three times, manager never showed up. Worse experience! Brought my suits to this establishment. When I picked tthey placed them in my car and I left, when I was going to use my suit I notice they gave me extra clothing and not my suit, they gave me the wrong clothing. I came back the couple days and returned the wrong clothing and they couldn't find my suit. They states that they would look for it but never got back at me. I called twice; the first time, I asked to speak to a supervisor but said they would call me back. They never did! Second time, again I asked for my suite and refused to take responsibility for the loss, I asked again to speak to the supervisor or owner. Ironically their slogan happens to be "If you want to look your best..." I've never had a dry cleaners re-do a re-do. I had 3 suits cleaned. At almost $20 per suit they failed to iron the cuffs and arms of one suit coat. On another suit they ironed the pants and left double creases in the pants TWICE! No discount, no coupons for the inconvenience, just a re-do free of charge. The drive thru is convenient but the quality of service is horrible for the price! read more

with only two places to choose from in a 10 mile radius (i choose not to travel by car for my daily services, unless need be) i will need to check out the other place in town. carrs is just alright for me. carrs offers drives up dry cleaning service. yes, you see people sitting in their cars, waiting in the carport and awaiting service while sitting in the pleasure of their suv. in addition, you can have next-day service if you drop off early in the day (i've tried after 4pm once and that couldn't happen). only using carrs the past month or so, but at this point, I really am getting over them. one, my clothes dry cleaned just have this chemical smell to them and then i begin thinking of the chemicals leaching into my body. two, while they have done exceptionally well on my items, they are quite pricey. i remember in urban places some places would offer $1 per button-down shirt, here at carrs, $1.95. but hey, being one of two businesses offering such services, i'm sure they are making it quite well. lastly, they are all over the place with customer service. some are just okay, some feel bothered, some take ten minutes to get one thing. what bothers me most about carrs is that they place barcode labels in your shirts which seems not to be removable. i feel as if i'm being put on some list and followed with that barcode. i really do not like this at all!! overall, the place is meh. i will try using the other competition in town but i feel i should just use greener services when i make it back to sf for my next trip. read more

First, I had them reattach a belt loop on some jeans, and it ripped on the first wear. The lady looked at it and said this should have been machine worked. It was held to the pants by a small thread, definitely not worth $7. Second, they are ridiculously expensive and don't have a simple price chart anywhere and you ask the employees they give different info. I went in to have a suit jacket pressed only and it came out to be $8, but had I pressed and dry cleaned it would have been $10. That is a rip off! Why wouldn't the lady had suggested I just pay the $10 because Carr's like ripping off their customers? Third, the employee's are rude and don't seem to show any empathy on the terrible work they produce. Fourth, I will say that the services I paid for did have a quick turn around. Press only takes about a day and a Press + Dry Clean takes about two days. In conclusion, go somewhere else. On the morning of our daughters wedding,we mistakenly thought that we could steam her cathedral veil ( very long) with our home steamer.....not! Our daughter in law called Carr's and they told us to bring it right down and they'd have it done in about an hour! They were so awesome! I also took the wedding dress and veil back to them after the big day, to have them clean and preserve The whole thing. They did a fabulous job! Called for a price, 7 minutes later, I hung up. All I heard was loud metallic noises, worse than a fax machine, no "hold" button obviously.

I went in to have some pants hemmed. I know they do not have a dressing room so I went in wearing the pants and boots. Have them pin them and come back after I changed as I live close. The moment I walked in the lady at the desk was glueing her nail. Did not make eye contact with me or acknowledge me for that matter. I told her I had some pants and that I was wearing them. She must of not been listening because she said we don't have a dressing room. Still not looking at me, continuing to mess with her nails. I told her I wore them in. Then she said we don't do that here. We want to make sure we do it right. So it is best to go to the other location on Geer. This place is very convenient as I live around the corner. Then I proceeded to the Geer location. I went in and the employee told me that do not have a taylor to pin the jeans. I am thinking I am going to have to find another location to go to. read more

We always take my husbands clothes here and they do a great job with them. They are also very, very courteous and have great service! I love the conveneice of the downtown store not having to find a place to park in a parking lot, just being able to pull in. They also give $10 coupons once you reach a certain spending amount. Keep in mind I was forced to PREpay $20 for them to replace 2 little pieces of outstretched elastic on the straps. I thought the tag she gave me was a receipt. NO!!! They had no record of the $20 cash I had already paid and she insisted I owed them $20! If these were not my favorite dress shoes I would have left them. I have just finished reading the review of the person in San Francisco related to green standards and the barcode and the price. For crying out loud lady!! The barcode is for their tracking and efficiency, it's not like they tatoo it on your forearm. As far as being green, if you really want to be perfectly green stop purchasing items that require dry cleaning. Buy only 100% cotton, get out your scrub board and hang them up in your back yard. I'm sure living in San Francisco you have a lovely outdoors area with plenty of room to hang up your clothes. I have used Carr's in the past while living in Turlock. You don't need to leave your car, lug big piles of clothes and the people are very nice. I have never had a chemical smell on my clothes. In fact after years of being away I have recently bought a home in Merced. I am going to make a half hour drive just for Carr's to clean an expensive king sized down comforter. The price...about $60. I bought the expensive comforter and knew it would be a bit pricey to clean it, and I wouldn't have anyone else do it. This is a luxury (dry cleaning) that not all people can afford, like living in SF. I am very lucky to be able to pay for something like this. Staff could not tell prices upfront, until garments are completed. I asked, as for it ahead of time in person with clothing on the counter with no one else in line and they refused to tell me the complete price. They said they could call me but never did. I asked for owners phone number as they gave it to me saying this is the owner, it wasn't the owners number it was the counter clerk. One of the staff told me they can charge any price they want because there isn't much competition in the area. The staff member also told me on the phone that other customers wanted to know the prices upfront, but knowing all this.. they still have not. Note to owner who is claimed to be out of town for a few weeks: Your business is inefficient, and will be passed up by a better business if you can't shape up your company.
