Been using Cars Plus for oil changes for years. After today, I'll never take a vehicle in again. During a routine oil change they managed to brake the oil cap while removing it. Then they tell me "hey the oil cap broke but we got one coming" Then they hit me with the bill and charge me $30 for the oil cap. When I ask why theyre charging me he said oh it happend all the time. So to clarify, they broke an oil cap going UGGA DUGGA and then they charge me $30 for it. Its $10 at autozone. Stay away from Cars Plus in Highland. read more

When a business loses sight and concern for their long established customers, it is most definitely not a good formula for continued success. We have been coming to Cars Plus for many years and spent a lot of money at this establishment. Repeat customers take a time to grow and nurture, they are the backbone of most businesses and remain their base of clients. Once a customer trusts auto mechanics such as Cars Plus, they may be eating out of your hand without questioning their diagnosis, cost or seeking a second opinion at the competition. This is a captive audience or in this case trusting regular customers. Repeat customers do not question price. Trust is everything. Recently, Cars Plus has lost their bearings and has kicked the gift horse in the mouth. It is quite disturbing to be treated in an unwelcoming manner, so rudely and dismissed so lightly. Never again will we come here. It was 4 pm my brake lights were coming on. They had no time to check them, they close at 6pm. Last time, they told me their nothing was wrong with the brakes and we can't really check them unless the dashboard warning light comes on. Drove down the street to another place that closes at 6pm and they were most happy to take care of me. I was told not to drive the vehicle, the brakes were dangerously in need of service. Cars-Plus dismissed my concerns and told me to come back Monday or Tuesday and this this was Friday. Nice lack of concern Cars-Plus! The last time I took our car in, I said the car makes a grinding sound when it stops. Cars Plus said the brakes needed scraping and cleaning. They did that twice and with the problem continuing. On the 3rd time I was handed 20 sheets of paper about some defective parts from GM, this was pure bullshit to get rid of me. You know what the real problem was? I was driving the vehicle in 4 wheel drive and it took a basic oil change chain establishment, one of the young guys working there to tell me this? Guess what? No more grinding sound! Avoid Cars-Plus they do not know how to treat repeat customers lately. I am not going there to spend good money when they can't seem to solve an auto repair problem efficiently. They need to learn to respect, appreciate their customers. Smiling, having a personality and being genuinely happy to see your repeat customers goes a long way. As a woman, you have to be careful where you bring your vehicle if you're not knowledgeable about cars. I feel comfortable bringing my car here. This place is great! I've been a regular customer for a couple of months. Getting tire rotations and other things. So this morning before I got my day started, I decided to stop by because my tire maintenance light came on and I was in need of a oil change. Even though they had quite a few cars, I was in and out in 30 minutes. I even had a piece hanging from the bottom front and they screwed that back on. Very disrespectful and immature staff. All were old enough to know how to behave. I was referred to them by Service King which makes it worse. If you don't want to do work just say so, don't act like a little kid and be mad. Asked should I make an appointment and the old guy just kept saying leave your car here. I don't think he can comprehend English very well. As a Marine Veteran, I am not surprised of their actions. It's very sad for them that they act as such. I do not usually leave reviews but this couldn't be ignored. I brought my car here thinking that they would be a safe option to work with, I called in and spoke with the front desk when Tim told me it would be a 150 dollar diagnostic fee. Later that day Tim called me back giving me the price of the repair claiming it was bad fuel injectors and spark plugs. The price I thought was a little high and he sent over the quote via email. They charged over 100 percent mark up on all the parts and the repairs totaled a little over 1400 dollars. I asked if I could speak to the owner Chris to go over the numbers to see if we could find any room to work with on the price and as soon as I spoke with him my price went up to almost 1800 dollars!!! Saying it was a " Computer Glitch" and getting very flustered on the phone repeatedly telling me if I didnt like the price I could take it somewhere else. At this point I did not feel comfortable letting these guys even near my car and went to tow it to a different location and I went to pay the 150 dollar diagnostic fee to get it out of there and it had been raised to 186 dollars!! I was told by Tim that I misheard him and that its between 150-300 dollars. No I did not mishear you you guys just run a shady business and try to take advantage of people at every turn. I called the number 219-924-2258 I told him I need struts for my 98 eclipse installed. He put me on hold a few min later he says oh your looking at about $1,000. I know that is a complete rip off! If i find a place blatenly trying to rip people off dam right iam reviweing them. Car plus took my review off their web site. I took my car into their shop for a free service that triple A suggested. Well they damaged my car. I saw it when I got home. They told me they had a video and it was damaged when I came in. I asked if I could see it, was told NO. My ins. co. told me to make a police report. Then they called car plus, they were told that they had a video. My agent asked if they could see it. They were told NO. Now I have to pay $500. till my co go's after their co. This car plus is located at 9825 Indianapolis Blvd in Highland IN. 46322 I reported them to BBB they ignored them. They also changed my state to CA. on their wed site. I live in Highland IN. 46322. Truly, one star is being generous. We stopped here today to get a tire repaired. It was already off of the car and just needed to be removed from one rim and placed on another. The original issue was the valve had popped out, so putting the tire on another rim with a good valve should have solved the issue. So, we walk into Cars Plus and they quickly took the tire and wheel. They came back out 2 minutes later and said the tire was shot. In fact, they said it probably occurred due to running it a few feet with no air in the tire. OK. That makes sense. I asked if they had a used tire (since this is a 14 year old car and we probably won't be keeping it too much longer). He said a used tire would be about $40 and a new one would be around $50. So, he looked up the new tire (asking again for an inexpensive tire) and he said, well, it's going to cost you $60. So, now we would be at $60, plus installation, plus balancing etc. I said, "no thanks. I think we will hold off for now". The service tech (manager? owner? who knows) said, "well, that will be $10". I asked what the $10 charge was for and he said well they had to take the tire off the rim. I looked at him incredulously. $10? They didn't do a damn thing, except pull the tire off the rim (it was already flat with no air of course). Well, they did do something. They alienated a customer. They generated some additional bad will towards their business. And, of course, they earned a one star Yelp review. Nice job, guys. Had they done what Discount Tire did when we drove 2 blocks south and visited them, they would have earned a loyal customer. Discount Tire provided a quote on a new tire, after taking the same tire apart and giving the same opinion that the tire was not repairable. The difference is that Discount Tire did not charge us for taking the tire off the rim and instead quoted us $45 for the tire, balanced and installed. Needless to say, we will not only be replacing this tire, but will be replacing all 4 tires on the car, purchasing them at Discount Tire, where they have a reasonable concept of what customer service really means. Here is a tip for Cars Plus: Instead of nickle and diming your customers, plan for the long term relationship and treat them with the same consideration that you would expect and that your competitors already provide. The only real PLUS side for this Company is that they earned an extra $10 today for virtually doing nothing to earn it. That's $10 profit. Enjoy it while you can. If your business policies continue as described in this review, your longevity in the business will be coming to an end sooner rather than later. And, for the rest of us, that will be a PLUS. read more

Because I went there for my car breaks repaired and it's costly 660$ total but the problem was it's lasted 2 weeks only, after that my car breaks was broken again and I going to them and show them, they said they are not responsible for their working of breaks , then you need to pay money again and we will fix for you. How can I spend 660$ again for just 2 weeks only last enough breaks. My experience at CarsPlus in Highland, IN was remarkably negative. I was consistently provided contradictory information despite having paperwork to prove otherwise. The owner and employees were equally inadequate at participating in a reasonable discussion to provide a solution to the problem. Even a simple apology would have helped to alleviate the situation but instead they continued to shift the topic and lie to my face. Their condescending tone was part insulting and comedic. I was also told personal issues with myself was partially to blame for their inability to create a empathetic solution to their blatant mistake. Would NOT recommend!!! read more

I've been going to cars plus for at least 10 years. They have worked on all of my cars - (domestic and foreign) and have been nothing but professional, fair and reliable. Heck, the only reason I'm responding to this is because I looked up their phone number to schedule a drop-off, saw this review and felt so strongly that it was off, I had to weigh in. To other people reading these reviews - please read all reviews (not just David E.'s) -- they are very positive. With respect to David E's, post - there are several points that I disagree with and suggest an educated buyer (i.e. the folks reading this add), do some homework. First, OEM parts cost more than non-OEM parts -- Cars Plus typically use OEM parts (i.e. $118 is low). Second, labor rates across most automotive repair shops are considerably higher than $60/hour -- more like $85 in this area. Applying that to this project -- 1.5 hours to align plus 1 hour per strut is 5.5 hours. The total for this project (with tax) would be $1,052.96. read more

My son was on a road trip to Michigan from Illinois in our Tahoe. The truck broke down near Highland, In. AAA towed the truck and the boys to Cars Plus. My initial response upon hearing this was, oh boy they are gong to take advantage of these young adults and it's gong to cost us a fortune! I pulled into Cars Plus! on a Sunday morning with my 2005 Ford minivan running terrible. I saw the owner (his name turned out to be David) in the shop. I knocked on the door & when he answered he told me they were closed on Sunday ,but asked what the problem was. I told him I was going to Michigan with the kids this afternoon & the car doesn't seem to be running right. David told me that he would call home real quick and then look at my vehicle.
