My go to! I've now brought 3 vehicles here to Larry and Josh. These guys are very trustworthy, honest and hardworking!! If Larry doesn't think he can get to your vehicle in a reasonable amount of time, he will either make that very clear or refer you to someone he knows to be equally good. Both guys have quite the personality and make you feel quite comfortable with your vehicle there. If I could give less than 1 star I absolutely would. This place was ridiculous. I brought in a 2006 Pathfinder that was throwing P20/P30 codes. Took them 3 weeks to repair some exhaust leaks that they said were the issue. 12 hours after I paid and got the vehicle it was throwing the same codes. So I took it back in. 2 weeks later, Larry diagnosed it as catalytics that needed replacement. He then made me buy my own parts from RockAuto. It has been 9 days since I dropped the parts off to him and I still don't have a vehicle. I get 0 updates. I have to hound him on the phone and I'm always told "it'll be ready tomorrow". Avoid this place at all costs. read more

WORST SERVICE IVE EVER HAD, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY Getting my car serviced at the place was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. I dropped my car off on Monday for something that should've been a simple fix and it's now been 4 days and my car hasn't even been looked at. The worst part is, every time i called for an update on my vehicle they'd tell me they should be able to get to it that day but never did. THAT WAS MY BIGGEST MISTAKE, was believing that after 4 days of no updates, and them barely answering when i called, they would even be able to take a look at my car at all. I use my car for work and because of all this i missed a whole weeks worth of work. This place is extremely unreliable, save your money, save your time and go somewhere else. I'd been having issues with acceleration. Some mechanics thought it was the transmission, others recommended changing the fuel pump, filter and pressure regulator. So I had the transmission serviced and the fuel pump changed at those other places. But the problem continued. My car would pick up speed sometimes but not always. The tach would spin but the wheels wouldn't engage right away. Seemed like it could've been a tranny issue, but when accelerating slowly, everything worked. Hoosier Muffler was recommended as the best place for repairs, so I went there. Larry test drove it and didn't notice the problem. So he took the time to ask for a history of when the problems started. He told me he couldn't do the work unless he knew what to look for. That was great! An honest Mechanic! That question and answer session had me realizing that the problem started soon after a previous repair that had been done less than a year ago. Larry started with an inspection of that work and ended up fixing the crimped and twisted fuel lines that APEX MUFFLER IN HAMMOND had previously replaced. I'm giving Hoosier Muffler 5-STARS for not giving me a song and dance repair, but actually fixing the problem! Kudos! read more

Larry and Josh are the absolute best! They restored my 1950 Chevy truck by rebuilding the engine, transmission, and carburetor. They also installed a custom radiator, relocated the battery from the floor to underneath the hood, and painted some of the component parts.
