I visited Kid to Kid twice in one week and had an overall good experience. The first time I just stopped in to kill some time and picked up a couple of items for my kids. Most of the stuff they sell here is really great quality and is reasonably priced. For my youngest I got two pairs of pants and a long sleeve shirt, and for my middle I got a pair of jeans and brand new Halloween bow by the checkstand (they gottt me), all for $25. Definitely affordable! I stopped in later in the week to drop off a huge tote of clothes that I've been discarding as my youngest has grown out of them. The selling process is fairly easy - you drop off, they process the clothes, and then give you a call to let you know how much store credit or cash they'd like to offer. I decided to take the store credit offer because it was definitely decent and because I know I'll be back to shop again! It's also nice that whatever they decide they don't want/isn't in season, they'll donate to local non-profits so I don't have to handle picking it up and dropping it back off somewhere else. The store is organized nicely and they have a ton to look through for all ages. My only gripe is that each time I've gone in, the staff hasn't been the friendliest. Retail definitely can be hard work though, so it's possible they were just having overwhelming days. Looking forward to returning and shopping again!

They all had smiling faces and several greeted me with a smile. I was thoroughly impressed with Letisha ,the sales associate that helped me. After hearing that I was never able to use my credit card for their store because I had not activated the first one I got two years ago, she convinced me to reinstate my card and I was able to get an additional amount off my purchase on merchandise that was already on sale. I was in a wheelchair and my husband pushing me down each aisle. I went looking for a pair of jeans and maybe other things if they caught my eye. The store was extremely well organized and clean. I have recently lost a large amount of weight and did not know which size I was now in clothes. We were greeted by a friendly employee who showed me various bra options and started a room for me. We started the other side of the store. This is where we met a wonderful employee, Danielle, 4630. While we were looking at jeans. She found my sizes and a couple more in different sizes to try for a better fit. After putting them in a changing room, she came back and asked if she could show me another pair that is her favorite to wear and I might like them too. I loved them and purchased two pair and two sweaters. I have never had better service! Danielle made me feel like I was shopping at a boutique. She looked online for another color in a sweater I liked. Checked in with me in the dressing room and made me feel at ease to ask her questions. When it was time to check out my husband reminded her of the sweater we wanted that needed to be ordered and she smiled and said , yes she had already added it to our purchase. She explained the benefits of a Lane Bryant account including returning items that I purchased online to their store or free returns with no shipping charges. This store is a good 45 minutes to 1 hour from our home. I will not hesitate to drive there again not only for their selection but the outstanding shopping experience with Danielle!

If you're tasked with something else, that's fine, but falling into the abyss is most certainly not what your employer pays you for. Gal in front of me had a price check which Jill acted like was a huge inconvenience to come over and do. The other register was dealing with a return with no receipt which the cashier couldn't handle and Jill was too annoyed to stick around and resolve. She was too stressed by the patient gal waiting for someone to help her find a product. By the time I got to check out, Miranda, the cashier, looked about ready to cry from secondhand stress. One of my items didn't have a price tag so... price check. And guess who looked thrilled about it. And gave the COMPLETE wrong price. I had grabbed one of their 99¢ bandanas and she said $6.99. I just chose not to buy that rather than argue because it wasn't worth talking to Jill. Miranda was great and very apologetic but I honestly felt bad leaving her with that kind of individual manning that area. Took about ten minutes to get through checkout and Jill was still ignoring the return issue but thankfully that poor cashier was able to get another manager over who looked pretty annoyed with Jill's inaction so I feel like this is a known issue. I hate to imagine what Jill would act like with an actually angry customer if this is how she behaved with patient folks experiencing minor issues.

I did a bit more digging and soon discovered Howard and Marge. Color me happy! A clothing boutique for women of all ages with hip, sexy but not trashy, fun, colorful and unique apparel, not to mention the most fun trucker caps (I've got three so far) and other fun accessories for yourself or for friends. I literally stocked my closet with jeans, tops and sweaters from Howard and Marge and found a couple super cool, retro style shirts for my man. Since I'm not a mall shopper and I prefer to shop and support my local businesses I will probably be wearing Howard and Marge apparel exclusively now.

Bring your dog to work - do NOT YELL at me (the customer) for opening the door in fear that your dog will escape. You screamed at me and made no apologies for it, even though my mother was clearly holding YOUR DOG back from getting outside. Here is an idea, put a long lead on your dog. 2. How about talking to your customers and not just your friends. A quick hello and asking what we were looking for would have been nice. Sorry we did not go to school with you or that we do not have kids that go to school with yours, but we are very faithful Burien shoppers who deserve some attention. 3. Learn to use an inside voice. The volume at which the owner spoke was completely distracting. 4. Put price tags on things. There were some super cute knee high socks that I kept gravitating to, but contained no price tag nor was there any signage about the product. People do not like having to ask for the price of things. Be kind and label them. We have no intention of returning. Feeling sad and frustrated. A side note: I am not giving the one star rating because of this experience. I have been in this store several times before this and every time the owner and/or person working behind the counter seems completely consumed with something/someone else.
