In fact, from what I have seen, everything this Ru A guy below is saying is 100% B.S. The Ranges are top notch, the facilities are modern and very-well maintained, and all the 'staff' are extremely helpful and full of tips to help you improve, and patient with new shooters. The only 'staff' that work there with shooters are the folks that run the events held on the East side ranges. Practical Rifle, 2-Gun (pistol and rifle) 3-Gun (pistol, rifle and shogun), USPSA, IDPA, are some of the disciplines practiced there. There are no staff working on the west side directing shooters in any way. At your New Member Orientation, you are taught how to use the ranges and conduct yourselves. You have no one hanging over your shoulder when you go there to shoot. There are range safety officers that make their rounds, and thats it. So Ru A here is either talking about another range, or he is blatantly lying, probably because he got corrected for doing something unsafe and stupid. And the club has nothing to do with Eventbrite, so that is another lie Ru A told. This is the nicest, best-run gun range in the whole state. Their shotgun ranges are truly Olympic-Grade ranges, with modern machinery and electronics. The West side ranges go from 30' to 20p yards, and the 600 yard range is available to anyone that qualities to shoot on it (not hard). Go to an Event and see for yourself. The best part of the club are the people. They are absolutely FANTASTIC! It is well-worth the membership fee if you enjoy shooting. And as a member, you can join their training program to teach you a little more advanced self-defense techniques with your firearms. That alone was worth the membership to me.

Hopefully this review helps! It's an outdoor shooting range with various options for distance. Shooting outdoors beats inside by far. You get to enjoy the guns in a far better environment. Could be for deer season, or rebuilding the range, all needed, but there is no way to find out until you pull in the driveway. Once they had a sign up saying they were going to open an hour late. There were over twenty people waiting, and we were some of the last to leave, two an a half hours later. They have no website or working telephone. They explained that the phone is for calling out in an emergency. There isn't any way to contact them. The last time I was there, the gates open at11:30 and shooting starts at 12:00 and goes to 4:00 PM. Between 11:30 and 12:00, the range master explains the safety rules. The charge was $10.00 for the day and teens under eighteen were free with a FOID card holder supervision. The only drawback was the lack of communication!

Bought targets for $1/ea which is also fine. Clean, nice range. The folks there, including the gentleman at the front door, were very polite. I was hesitant to go to Mega Sports based on some of these negative reviews herein but my experience was completely opposite. Look, there policy is a FOID card to enter. So be it. Illinois is a pain and requires FOID cards. In fact, you can't buy guns/ammo without so what's the point of going to these types of stores in IL without a FOID if you can't buy anything anyway without a FOID. I mention because this was an argument of many. I am happy to go back to this place. Range is perfect particularly for the competitive price. I did not price check guns or ammo (no time, no need at that moment). Try the place for yourself, I think you will be pleased.

I had taken a few years off from shooting. But I got the itch again and shook off the dust at another range. Recently decided to start shopping for another firearm. I stopped by Maxon's as they had the 3 handguns in stock that I've been considering. While I did not purchase anything, Luis was extremely helpful, and knew his stuff. He was super friendly and patient with me as well. I really appreciated his relaxed, friendly attitude. Something you don't find too often in this scene. Their prices are a little high, but I think the employees make it worth it. I'll be back to use their range, and post an update if there are any issues. Minus 1 star for the price of their CC qualification target. $3. Ouch. The other range I go to in East Dundee sells them for ¢75.
