BEWARE!!! We have purchased TWO vehicles from them and had problems getting what we were promised and now just took husbands truck up there to get looked at and they told us bad hose and quoted $27 plus a little labor......and this hose should've only taken 30 mins to change out!!! $512 later....they charged $420 in labor to change a HOSE!! I'd love to give negative stars here. I was working a deal with a salesman on a car I found on their website. I was buying everything site unseen so he sent me a walk around video, we spent hours going back and forth with questions and phone calls. He was shipping the car to me I got the price I wanted, all I wanted was to chose my payment so I could pick my money down. He asked for my credit so I said ok but don't run it until I get general numbers on payments. He said okay that's not an issue. A few minutes later he calls says we have a problem, the sales manager Tim had a local guy coming in they wanted to buy the car. What? No I'm one step away from closing the deal. I was paying to ship the car they weren't losing money on the deal but I lost out because I wasn't local! I yelled at the salesman he said he was going to fix it, that didn't happen. They sold the car to the local guy and after they did that they ran my credit. After the car was sold!!!! This car dealership is a crooked as they come. Don't give them the time of day! I am blown away at the way I was treated. I now have a hard inquiry on my credit after the sale of the car I wanted. I would never purchase something from them. read more

Excel Ford of Carthage has officially stolen my vehicle and sold it to a customer without my consent. After dropping off my 2004 Ford Focus when my transmission failed back in February, I expected to get my car fixed and returned to me. I was on my way to Shreveport for work when this happened. The service department informed me that it would be $5000.00 for a new transmission. I was transferred to the sales department to see what my options were after telling them that I was not going to pay $5000.00 for a new transmission, because it is clearly overpriced. One of the sales representatives, Mike Emanis, told me to send in the title of my car to Ford in the mail. He said the best they could do was have "the crusher yard next door buy my car" and that there was not a better deal than that. He later called back and told me I was only able to make $141.16 off of the vehicle and that they would send me the money for the car after they received the title. After almost two months of waiting and several phone calls to the manager of the dealership, I finally received a personal money order from Mr. Emanis, so, I called the dealership to inquire about why I would receive a personal money order instead of a check from Ford and no one would take my calls. The manager of the sales department eventually answered and told me that this was a "personal problem" and that I needed to take it up with his employee on my own volition. I eventually accepted that no one would help me find out the information I needed and let it go. I have since received a letter in the mail from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles saying that my 2004 Ford Focus and matching VIN number has been driving around in San Marcos, Texas without insurance and that it could affect my financial situation if I do not take care of it. I have never lived in San Marcos and I am clearly not driving a supposedly crushed car. I had to buy a new car because I was told it was $5000.00 to fix the Focus. I have called the dealership several times to ask why and how my car would be possibly driving around since the transmission had failed and the car was allegedly crushed a couple of weeks prior. The manager then informed me that Mr. Emanis has quit the dealership and that this is not their problem. I have attempted to contact the owner and the receptionist informed me that "he doesn't really come in much" and when I asked the next time he would be in, she giggled and said "I don't know, he just comes in when he wants." She then transferred me back to the same manager who told me he would call me back. To my surprise, no call back. I have not been able to get through to anyone at the dealership since that day. I have informed Ford Headquarters and they said they would look into it for me, but I am still out money that Mr. Emanis sold my car for. The dealership is clearly covering up a scheme and I am so disappointed in the customer service, lies and theft that has occurred. read more

Best Truck buying experience I've had. I saw my dream truck online and submitted a inquiry. Not even an hour went by and I received a text about my inquiry. Negotiations happened in about 10 min via a few texts and a phone call. Everything was very transparent from start to finish. Oh did I mention I was buying from more than 400 miles away... Everything was done within a day and Baylor arranged for everything from there. Gave me a great price on my trade as well. Baylor had his dad drive the truck down and sign paperwork and then take my trade back to Carthage. No reason to shop big city dealerships when it comes down to the personal service of this dealership. Thanks for making it easy. read more
