In 2004, I needed a small awning over a back porch at a different home, and because of my previous experiences, I called them to do that install. Each time, I was completely satisfied with their work, installers and pricing. It may or may not make a difference to anyone reading this review that I have done a bit of contracting work as a "house-flipper", so have both a fair amount of knowledge and understanding of contractors. While this does not describe my experience with Metro, sometimes contractors drop the ball...they respond slowly or fail to call back. I generally give someone a 2nd chance, but after that...I move along. I have had good experiences, and while I am sure there are other reputable awning companies out there, I see no reason to "re-invent the wheel" and try some unknown entity when it comes to awnings in the future. As a matter of fact, I just referred them to a roofing contractor friend, which is what brought me to their site and prompted this review.

First of all, shame on ME for falling for the salesmen's ongoing flattery and pitch. I feel so embarrassed and taken at the same time! We needed our electric awnings canvas replaced and had a couple of estimates. Darts came in almost double, however, we were told (by the salesman) that they would make the adjustments we needed, clean up the awning frame and install the new canvas. The adjustments included a arm that did not fully retract and a retractable extending adjustment ,so it would stop at a certain point. He ensured us they would make it look and work like new. He even talked us out of buying a new one because he said ours was a "workhorse" and they would make it work like new. We decided to go with them and even went to the showroom later that day to discuss and ensure we were doing the right thing, knowing that the cost was a lot for the canvas alone. Well, I was not home when they installed the canvas but, that is ALL they did. They did not clean the framing and could not make the adjustments because of lacking pieces along with not wanting to break another. Well, they did try, but could not and just left. Now one arm bangs LOUDLY against the house when it retracts back and we have to manually stop the awning from extending out. I called the next morning and very kindly explained the situation. I was told that a service request was being put in to come back and finish. However, I would have to pay additional $150 for the one small part and installation. I thought was kind of petty, since I was sold a service that was not provided to begin with. They were aware of my dissatisfaction and now, It's been over 2 weeks and no follow up. There were several other products I was extremely interested in for myself and another home I own. Unfortunately, I will not be doing business with this company again. Lesson learned the expensive way!
