Went in to purchase two Love wedding bands. I wasn't in the store 2 minutes when security came over, pretended to small talk, and continued to hover the entire time I tried on bands with the associate. Very uncomfortable and offensive. I went in to the Atlanta Cartier store because all of the stores in Seattle have been closed and I needed to straighten out some service problems for my watch. Marilyn was the person that helped me and she gave the greatest service that I have ever gotten in a Cartier store. Up until now I had all but given up on Cartier. Cartier is what you expect and know it to be. This showroom is not enormous. It is in a mall (Lenox) so it isn't going to be a huge space but it is laid out nicely. Edwin really took care of us. He was knowledgeable, thorough, professional and exceptionally nice and personable. I'm not a person that would normally buy something from Cartier however my experience was excellent here and I am happy with the service and the rings we bought while their. Well done. You expect exquisite jewelry, watches, etc. from Cartier and thats what you get. You also expect impeccable customer service. Somehow, Edwin managed to exceed my expectations - by a long shot. This company is more overrated than natural childbirth and is more painful to deal with. I had purchased my future son in law some cufflinks and then convinced my daughter to buy his ring from this store. What a terrible move on my part this was. I've been dealing with them to correct a problem with the quality of the ring they sold her (a platinum ring as that was the only type that her fiance wears) for over 6 months. He flew in for the engagement at which time they picked up the ring he wore it for about 4 days and then they mentioned to me that the ring had started to scratch. I looked at the ring and was very puzzled but not amused. Her fiance was here for a total of ten days before he had to go back to his practice. During this time, I urged them to go discuss this with the manager. The manager told them this is part of building memories together......no I'm not kidding you. Actually, their regional director said the same thing to me when I called her later on in the process!!! They could not seem to make a decision on whether platinum scratches easily or is a strong metal with "wonderful integrity"and it's just part of wearing the ring. After FOUR days....? Meanwhile, the couple left the ring with me as they had to fly back home. Months later I have had no resolution; they sent the ring to be examined and said there was nothing wrong with the quality of the platinum. This is very vexing as I wanted to pick up the ring for the wedding which is to be held out of town in a few weeks. When I went to pick it up a few days ago, with of course the scratches intact ....the associate could not find my name (they've had it spelled wrong since my first purchase anyway), he wanted to charge me as they'd polished it.....after he finally found my name and no trace of where the polish was complementary. I still have no ring to take to the wedding as I have to go back next week after the manager comes back from her vacation to release it. It truly is the worst experience I've had with a so called luxury company. That's not all. When my daughter had come to town pre-engagement she was here a short time before her fiance flew in so she was on a tight timeline trying to view the ring and have it ready for him. Her little girl was with her and we'd dragged her all around town trying to finish the shopping. By the time we arrived at Cartier, she was exhausted. My granddaughter leaned her arms on the counter top at which point the associate brushed her arm off the counter. I was absolutely shocked at this behavior and waited until we left the store before going back alone so as to not make a scene in front of my granddaughter and asked for an explanation for her rudeness. She said it was company policy. Really, company policy to physically remove a CHILD's arm off the counter? I can't blame anyone but myself for having gone through this transaction. A company that treats their guests with such lacking and complete disregard to integrity and forthrightness... is not going to tell the truth about the quality or (subquality )of some of their goods either. read more
