The place was nice and cool to escape the warm weather, several tables in the middle for various card games, free little candies for the kids and I assume for the adults too. :) Everything is neat and organized and you can play any game they have before you buy it to check it out. The kids were talking to the owners about card games and she asked if they had ever played MAGIC and they said no, so she gave them each a free deck and talked to them about it. I was impressed by everything here and the prices were good as well. They are moving into a new location (still in SUNCREST, but a bigger location) in about a month.

Games are well stocked, controllers on the back walls, and a heavy amount of showcases and accessories in a very detailed and well labeled section for almost each console. The employees are very warm and hospitable and are quick to ask you if you need help and or if you are looking for anything. As someone who doesn't always come out and approach clerks- this is good. I had a variety of questions on the new Switch console and not only did they answer them, they helped me make an informed decision on whether it's something I would enjoy, Bought one, I love it. It has very good pricing and a great selection of games and consoles. Consoles generally range from the Atari VCS (2600) to seventh generation (360, DS, Wii, PS3). Consoles come with one controller and the attachments needed to hook the system up to a TV. The console software is pretty extensive, starting with the NES and running up through 7th gen. Most of the handheld is Gameboy and DS. Once again, their selection is rather well rounded. Some of the more premium titles are located in the display case back by the register. There are also some rare curiosities in the collection that were pleasant surprises ( I never expected to see a full catalog of Virtual Boy software on display anywhere ). Something to be aware of is that any retro purchases can sometimes not work out. We have had one GBA cart and an XBOX cd fail to start when trying out the software at home. The store has a very generous return policy. I believe as long as you bring back the title within 10, they will accept returns and exchanges. The staff is very friendly and will always try to help out. In our cases, the store gave us a direct exchange on the scratched XBOX disc after trying to repair it instore, and a full refund for the GBA game. The store also has other typical collections (Trading Card Games, Funko Pops and other figurines). These are not my area of expertise, so I can't comment on the selection or prices. Several arcade machines are set on free-to-play mode at the store entrance to round out the experience. If vintage video games are your thing, then Retro Loot is definitely worth checking out.

My collection centers around NES and 64 and they get some heaters on occasion. They also have a great selection of PS2 and PS3 games. My gripes, as someone that visits regularly, is their incoming inventory seems low compared to their other locations and regional competitors. That said, I'm still surprised on occasion. My other issue is they don't seem to clean their cartridges like some of their competitors. Staff here are always awesome and super helpful. I always enjoy sharing stories of the hunt. Pricing is typically inline with price charting but they do offer a loyalty program with some great discounts on occassion.

I have been to the Altoona one several times for going there for shopping while in that part coming from Pittsburgh, but i had no idea there was another location this far north. Overall the staff is very friendly- guy with long hair is pretty attentive and if you want to talk to him about older games he's usually ready to trade war stories. What's also cool is that the place is fully stocked with new releases- and if you join their loyalty program, you get them for $5 off. I had been a text line member but this is new and it's still free. Pretty awesome and shows why you should shop local rather than a big chain. Friendly staff, great selection- everything looks pretty inside the store and well organized and clean. Very impressive.

They usually have a really good selection of NES games. We also pick up PS2 and PS3 games and they have quite a lot of those as well. Beyond that they have a fun arcade of retro games and a serious collection of Pop figures for sale. They sell other items and have recently added retro t-shirts. The staff are super friendly and quick to share their knowledge. They always ask if your want your cartridges cleaned before buying and their pricing is fair! A great store for anyone loving retro! Now that this place is the only game in town - it seems like they have really stepped things up rather than coasting Andy is the lead guy and the manager here - and any question or concern I've had he has been more than helpful. He has a vast knowledge of games and products that are coming out or things that are out.
