He was easy to talk to, super informative, and was relaying a lot of the troubleshooting information to me so I thought that was really helpful so I could understand the things he was checking along the way. Although our issue may require a new evaporator coil or repair which will be determined at tomorrow's appointment I am confident that South Placer will be able to resolve our issues and hopefully in a timely manner. I have experience with about five or six different HVAC companies over the last couple decades and South Placer is definitely a solid representation of a great company to work with. I wasn't so pleased to learn that South Placer was suggesting to replace a bunch of things including our evaporative coil and refrigerant amongst other things and our out of pocket costs were nearly $5,000. So we had the guy who installed the system come out to diagnose after reviewing South Placer absurd diagnosis and recommendation to our home warranty. Turns out it was bad blower motor which was far less than what South Placer wanted to replace. As of today, we are up and running like before. The only reason why I called the home warranty was because I thought it was a simple bad capacitor. Turns out I should have just called the guy who installed the system to diagnose the problem. I thought I was getting an accurate and honest diagnosis from South Placer. It's unfortunate I have to update this review.

We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. I had mini splits installed by a different HVAC tech. They worked alright at first, but little by…read morelittle, the performance dropped off--both heating and cooling started to struggle. I found Travis on Yelp and saw he works in Kelseyville. He made the trip all the way from Lincoln just to take a look, which I appreciated right off the bat. Right away, he spotted a leak in the system. He gave me the option to just patch that one area and refill it, but he also explained that it shouldn't have been leaking at that connection in the first place. He recommended checking the entire setup. I gave him the go-ahead. Turned out, there were a bunch of bad flares and none of the lines had been reamed, so there were burrs inside. Travis pulled all the faulty fittings and even handed them to me in a Ziploc bag. The repair wasn't cheap, but that was because of how badly the original install had been done. Travis had to undo a lot of sloppy work just to bring the system up to standard. His pricing was fair for the amount of rework needed, and the quality of the job was excellent. I thought I was being smart trying to save money on the original install, but I should've gone with Travis from the beginning. The system I thought was top-of-the-line turned out to be just okay. Lesson learned. Travis genuinely cares, and it shows. In a time when so many HVAC companies are getting bought out by venture capital firms, it's refreshing to work with a small, well-run business that still values quality. On top of that, Travis is a friendly, down-to-earth guy who's clearly winning in life.

On time--actually, early as scheduled for arrival between 8 & 9 and were here by 7:45. Finished and cleaned up by 5. No problems, at least none I know about, and they were exceedingly kind with my lack of internet knowledge to download, install and set up the app on my phone. But it's done and we're very, very satisfied. Will recommend them to anyone who asks! Must also thank Karan for her patience with me as far as doing the online payments. I bill pay online but when the original invoice hit, I wasn't prepared and panicked. Karan was more than understanding and, again, so very patient. It all worked out and everybody's paid!
