The cars all have a "Certified Pre-Owned" sticker on them even though they are sold as is. They wouldn't let me take the car to an independent mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection, but offered to pull the Maryland service inspection records for me, which I agreed to. Nope turns out they couldn't do that either, it would take over 24 hrs. They offered to let me take it to a mechanic of their choosing for an inspection, which they would pay for out of the kindness of their hearts. Highly suspect. As we were working through all of that, they broke down the numbers on the car I was looking at, trying to sell me all kinds of add-ons. When I said I didn't want any add-ons, they said they couldn't sell me the car without add-ons. Period. I walked out. Some very shady tactics going on here that could cost people a lot of money. So we asked to look at another one. He then gave attitude saying it all runs. Again I'm like I still want to see. Later comes up and said that it was sold. We said fine we are leaving cauae it doesn't seem like you want to sell a car. Then he had the nerve to say " you people don't buy anyways." I'm like excuse me? You people? He continued to racially slur us. So I went off. Then he gonna threaten me and my dad. Oh hell no. So gave him a piece of my mind. Knowing if I hit him I would get in trouble. Then he gonna take a picture of my car saying he gonna report me for harassment? Dude get out of here. No wonder this place had bad reviews. Please beware cause it looks like this place just buys auction cars and tries to fix them up to sell.

Not here, it was part of what they do. But that is not the real reason I'm writing this review. My wife brought me to the shop in her Lexus which is a 2011 Lexus (almost 10 year old car) with just under 200,000 miles on it. While we did take good care of it, nonetheless it clearly showed its age, especially on the leather seats which were dirty and had some scratches on them. Upon seeing the before/after pictures on Total Recon's web site, I asked if they could fix this car up, not really knowing what I was asking for. They said "yes" and I took this car in for a total reconditioning. I, and everyone I have shown the car to afterwards are totally amazed. It truly looks like it came right off the show room floor like when we bought it.
