Can never go wrong with carvel soft serve or a shake. Hard ice cream portions are also very generous. Also love that it's a drive thru.

Ask before you buy your Wednesday buy one get one free Sundae at this Carvel location. You will be charged for the sundae (cup & ice cream) but will be charged an additional dollar for the toppings. Not happy with the rip off. There is no signage stating such and there is no mention about the extra dollar charge upon ordering, so be sure to ask. I was craving some ice cream on my most recent visit to NJ and didn't realize that Carvel even had stores! I was so excited to try it, but good grief - the prices for the ice cream here are HIGH. I got something small and it tasted good, but I probably won't go back. The service was really good though - the gal in the drive thru was really nice. read more

We come to this location whenever we need an ice cream cake for a birthday. You can't go wrong with ice cream surrounded by delicious chocolate crunchies. It's even better if you have time to pre-order and customize the ice cream flavors. read more

Don't know how this carvel doesn't get better reviews but I think it's the best around.. I have ordered custom cakes from them for the last few years and this last time they saved me from disaster for forgetting to order a cake last minute .. I went to this carvel many times, and it's always very neat and clean. Carvel has good ice cream, and their sundae dashers are insanely good! My favorite one is the Reese's sundae dasher. You can pick your favorite flavor than they put Layers of Reese's, hot fudge, and hot peanut butter in it. It's SO good! They also have a variety of other sundae dashers you can pick from if your not a fan of Reese's. Today they had a new flavor called Cookie Monster, and it was very good as well. I only took a sample because I can't leave without getting my favorite Reese's dasher. My mom loves the classic vanilla soft serve with hot fudge. What's nice about this carvel it also has a drive though. read more

Omg. So my wife and I decided on sharing a banana boat because it is cheaper that two individual small ice cream sundaes. The girl at the pick-up window was attentive and pleasant. We selected vanilla/chocolate swirl, strawberry, hot fudge, cherries, whipped cream and of course the banana. She placed it in a bag with napkins and two spoons. So why the two stars. Well the ice cream flavor was fine. Our issue was by the time we made it back to our house to enjoy it, literally less than five minutes away, it had melted !!! It became a messy mess. We ended up using straws. We are not blaming the girl who made it. We are blaming the owners for keeping the ice cream machine temperatures to high or was it the temperature inside. read more

It's a typical chain Ice Cream shop, but as Carvels go, this one is a little lacking. They've got all the usual staples and everything that Carvel offers, however, they seem to be a little light on the flavors. Many of their fridge cases are empty, while they really only have one with ice cream in it. Overall, it's ok if you're looking for Carvel and the service isn't bad, but not one of the top destinations around. read more

I have loved Carvel ice cream since I was a little kid and I continue to go for their buttery creamy vanilla ice cream soft type. I think they were much better years ago when Tom Carvel owned the entire franchise but still my favorite choice. And who can't stop from getting the nice toppings on the ice cream.I have always loved the chocolate that hardens on the ice cream years ago they used to call it the chocolate bonnet. read more

Having grown up in Baltimore Md. with a Carvel store nearby, it was usually our go-to ice cream shop in warmer weather. I wish I could say the same for this Carvel location. It seems to be a family run business that needs to do better. Having recently gone there and purchased a quart of hard ice cream to bring home, you know, for old times sake. I was somewhat dismayed when our not quite full container was weighed and bagged. Last time I checked a quart of ice cream weighed in at 32 ounces not 26 ounces (as weighed on my wife's accurate kitchen scale). I know it's not much but if you are paying a premium price for anything you should at the least get what you paid for. Considering that they have a popular ice cream competitor just down the street, that was a bad move. The proprietor's seem friendly enough though, attentive and quick with a smile. Maybe they'll be worth another try, especially if Fudgie the Whale starts calling. read more

I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. His review was from 2013 so maybe the owners have changed, or they just changed the way they doing business. But I like this carvel. It's clean and they present they ice cream in the cooler the way gelato is usually presented (in stainless steel trays rather than tubs). It's pretty cool. The people are pleasant, the ice cream is fresh, and they even have a drive thru! read more
