I can't say enough wonderful things about Chocolate Works! My son has autism and doesn't have many friends to celebrate with, so my husband and I wanted to create a truly special experience just for him. Since he's candy-obsessed, we reached out to Chocolate Works, and the owner went above and beyond to make magic happen. Even though their specialty is chocolate (which isn't my son's favorite), they thoughtfully curated a private, make-your-own candy workshop tailored entirely to his tastes and interests. My son and I visit Redbank about once a month to purchase comic books at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. While there, we always stop into at least one other local business, and today that business was Chocolate Works on Broad Street. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The layout is open and airy, products are displayed attractively, everything is well organized, and everything is sparkling clean. The lovely woman working the counter greeted us, answered all of our questions, and was incredibly attentive and kind. We purchased about a half pound of assorted truffles, some commercial candies, a gummy bouquet, and some jelly rings. We've only sampled about half the items so far, but I have to say- the chocolates are just as delicious as they looked- and they looked spectacular. Best chocolate I've had! 5 stars taste! Yes it's not cheap but how could it be and taste so perfect!! Chocolate lovers' paradise! First of all this little chocolate shop is so beautifully laid out and so nice to visit! I had the Dark PB Heaven. Which is this giant ball filled with Reese type peanut butter, caramel, coated with this perfect chocolate, topped with nuts! Could be my favorite chocolate to date! I also had a salted caramel chocolate which was in a word perfect! In the past I've had their chocolate covered peanut butter Smore's, delish!! The bottom line is whatever you get here you will love! Make sure you stop here if you visit Red Bank. They close at 10 which could be tough to make after dinner, although they are open later than other chocolate shops in Red Bank. I walked by at 10:30 PM and they were still open and welcomed me again and I couldn't believe how lucky I was! Made my night, definitely check this place out! There are even candies from my childhood in the store. I had an ice cream cone and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors to choose from were all very unique and delicious. A miserable experience. You go to a candy store in order to have the freedom to scoop your own candy into a bag so you can get as much or as little of the different types as you want. This is the first candy store I have ever visited that requires the employees to do it for you. I left without getting anything because if I wanted to get candy that I couldn't choose myself I'd go to wawa and pay a quarter of the price. I've been to chocolate works 2X and each time it was for the same exact thing, to buy my loves a Valentine's day heart shaped box filled with chocolate goodies. They already have pre-boxed Valentine's chocolates for sale, but if you ask for a heart shaped box (small and large) they'll fill it up with whatever chocolate you want, and charge you according to the weight. My prior visit was 2 years ago when the owner first opened up Chocolate works. She's very friendly and personable. She told me at the time she makes chocolates at the store daily. I'm sure she doesn't make new batches everyday, but from my last experience they are fresh and taste very good. The chocolate I've tried were the chocolate covered pretzels, covered oreos, covered nuts, covered potato chips, turtles, rice krispies and mint truffles. All yummy! In addition, they also sell ice cream, shakes, candies, different chocolate novelties and host parties. See my pics. Today's visit, I had a young salesperson assist me and she was very helpful and gave me personal attention. She put all the chocolates I requested on a large heart shaped box. However, she and the owner had to tag team to wrap my box, but it was difficult because a large chocolate covered the rice krispie was pushing up on the cover. Ultimately they succeed and it looked nice! Only reason for only 4 stars is the cost. It's $23.99/lb for regular chocolates and $27.99/lb for truffles. My filled box came out to be $35+ tax which is par for artisan Valentine's day chocolates online (not including delivery). The best part is I got to choose the chocolates my kids would actually eat and didn't have to wait for it to be shipped to my house. read more

3 stars only because of the BRUTALLY slow service when trying to get 2 milkshakes. The product was good. We stopped in during the sidewalk sale on Sunday, there was one couple in front of us who was deciding and the girl (only one inside the store) left them to ring up a different customer slowing the process even more. It took over 20 minutes (23 to be exact) for my girlfriend and her sister to get 2 milkshakes and for 4 customers to be served. Not sure why but the girl has to leave the one area and walk to the back for each milkshake, seems like the workstation isn't properly equipped. The Campfire Milkshakes were great, but I'd never return just for the amount of time it took. There was literally a total of 8 people (3 of us included) who came into the store during this time period. Seems like this is better designed to be a candy shop and not an ice cream parlor. read more

Cute place, friendly staff. Celebrated my daughter's Birthday this past weekend. Got there 15min early to set up as directed. Party before us was still making their way out which had me scrambling with only a few minutes to set up before my guests arrived. As I was setting up the pizza came which I thought was WAY too early. Had I known, I would have requested the pizza be delivered 45min to an hour into the party so that it stays warm for the kids. Once settled in the party went well, as the kids came in they got to make their molds, eat pizza & other goodies brought in by myself. For anyone planning a party here, I suggest providing your own napkins so they are available during the full two hours. This was helpful for my guests. A coffee traveler was a huge hit with the adults. Overall, this was an adorable party. My daughter had a great time. read more

This place is truly 5 stars! It has the best chocolate I ever had in my life! It has me coming in twice a week for it! The milk, dark, and white chocolate is outrageously good! It's the best dessert shop in Red Bank. They have everything their Gifford'a premium ice cream, cookie dough, regular candy, candy apples, chocolate shots, and the best chocolate I ever I had! The best chocolate are the ones that are made there. My favorites are the peanut butter Nutella Graham's covered in milk chocolate. Trust me if your there buy them it's the best chocolate ever! My other favorites are the s'mores peanut butter Grahams, the dark chocolate peanut butter and Nutella cups, the new milk chocolate covered Oreos stuffed with peanut butter, the peanut butter heavens, the new white chocolate everything bars, and the white chocolate covered rice crispy treats. A word of advice if it says it's stuffed with Nutella or peanut butter get it. As far as the cookie dough I love the cake batter one best. It's delicious! My favorite ice cream flavor there is cake batter. They are always looking for new ideas to make new chocolate, and I thought of some. How about chocolate covered cookie dough balls, different kinds of Oreos covered in chocolate like the birthday cake ones, double stuffed, and peanut butter. Chocolate covered twinkies, chocolate covered nutter butter cookies. Another good idea is adding brownie batter cookie dough and sugar cookie dough to your cookie dough selection. This place will have you hooked. It's an excellent place to stop for kids and adults. You just can't leave Red Bank without buying some chocolate here. It's also a great place to go to after dining here for dessert. I highly recommend this place, and I will be a lifetime customer here. Very cute store and quite packed. They serve Giffords ice cream which I was a big fan of Giffords when I spent summers in Maine. The decor is a attempt to look a little like Willy Wonkas factory. But much smaller. They have a wall of candy that you mix and match what you want but $11.95 for a quarter lb of gummy candy? Gimme a break. However I'm a sucker for gummy candy and did by a small amount. I also picked up Milk Chocolate covered potato chips. I've been craving these ever since Trader Joe's stopped carrying them. I'm kinda disappointed the prices here are getting out of hand the same pieces of chocolate I'd by prior was always ringing up for around $14-16. My last couple of visits I'd buy only 4 pieces of chocolates and one time it came to $24 and yesterday $28 for just 4 pieces! That's insane! Their are NO prices here on anywhere on their chocolate. Something isn't right here I've been coming here for a long time but I won't be returning anymore even though I enjoyed their Nutella grahams and other peanut butter delights just because I find it ridiculous paying around $30 for 4 pieces of chocolate it's highway robbery! I find that the chocolate isn't as good as it was just a couple of moths ago it's lacking the sweetness it once had as well. I can no longer recommend due to their outrageous pricing now. read more

Fantastic! The chocolate pretzels were amazing. We bought about 6 with other chocolates for Father's Day. The girls that work there are so delightful and helpful. My 6 yr old son picked out 1/2 a lb of gummy type candies. And I must say they are by far the BEST we've ever tasted. They were so fresh and not one was hard or stale. Most of the time with "bin candy " or bulk the candy has been sitting there for a while. Not these! And the store was very clean. Purchased chocolates here three times. It was fresh the first time, but now is quite old and disappointing. Worse of all they make no effort to present the chocolate purchase in an appropriate fashion. I bought a pound as a gift recently. I was embarrassed beyond words when the recipient opened the box and there were the assorted chocolates tossed into the thin cardboard box in no particular fashion. They used no cello liner ,nor did they place the chocolates neatly inside the box. It looked like I had picked them up at the dollar store.No one from the store has obviously never purchased quality chocolates from a real chocolatier. One got the impression they may not be be proud of their product. I did go in for ice cream one hot evening, and saw a man buy a pound of chocolates. The cashier dumped them into a cello bag!! I shouldn't have been shocked, but I was. (Fortunately his wife insisted they box the candy...much to the cashiers chagrin/ Come on Chocolate Works, you can do better than this!. read more
