If you've read my reviews before you know how much I love Mexican food. In Bloomington we tend to be creatures of habit who eat at El Ranchero South and Juannitas - close to home and just what we are used to. Deciding to shake things up and being on the west side of town led us to Casa Brava. We hadn't been in years and we enjoyed our experience! Service was quick and on point. It wasn't too crowded for a Friday night but still busy. No wait. Perfect! When it's too empty i start to get worried but I also hate waiting for a table. Chips and salsa were good - nothing special but good. We had the bean dip with queso which was a tad bit soupy but great flavor. Wife ordered tamales and the tiny bite she allowed me to sample was good. She said they were great and given I wasn't allowed much she must be telling the truth. I ordered arroz con pollo and it was fantastic. Chose flour tortillas and received only three so added a side order or corn tortillas to sample and add. Both were fresh and good. A great experience and we will return!

My spouse and I attempt to try out different restaurants throughout Southern Indiana. i have seen the sign for this restaurant and decided to try it out. The strip mall for this restaurant is way back behind the crew car wash. They add almost 3 percent to the bill if you use credit cards. These are the negatives. As you wend your way back to the restaurant you will discover a cozy little Mexican restaurant. My spouse and i ordered different types of taco Salad. My spouse's taco salad was the typical ground beef variety. i wanted something different from your average chicken taco salad. So I ordered the chicken fajita taco salad. As I tasted it I experienced chicken fajitas in taco salad bowl. in both cases the taco salad bowl itself was delightful. Well worth the adventure to discover this restaurant.

This was near our hotel when we were looking for places to get dinner. The prices were a little higher than portrayed online when we ordered takeout for pick up. However, there is a generous amount of food provided, so I guess it evens out. The food was very good!

First of all, you aren't going to find real Mexican food in Bloomington. The best and the closest you are going to come is here at Casa Brava. The flavors, the spices and options provide a yummy experience. I tend to prefer chicken and seafood dishes which they have quite a few. My husband on the other hand tends to like their beef and steak and is often able to find something that is big enough to not only eat for dinner but, also take home for a snack later. They have all levels of spice and provide great customer service and interaction. They are a little less expensive than Juanita's restaurant and they provide more of the Mexican feel. I like that this location it's close and easy to park at. It is close to several other shops and they are open for lunch and dinner. Their other location is located on the east side of town and also provides all the perks this location does. It's definitely the best Mexican restaurant in Bloomington.

I thought this was the worst Mexican food I have had in town. The server/service I had was bad also. This was a one and done for me.

Save your money very poor quality of food. Even the cheese dip is terrible like water, and they raised prices. Its not worth it

TLDR: Love it. Visited today for breakfast with a friend, and it wasn't busy when I arrived, but was surprised at how many people arrived as we ate. It was a workday, and I thought there might be some breakfast meetings taking place, but the crowd trickled in a bit later as the morning lingered. Coffee options abound. As do smoothies and 'wellness shots' which aren't my thing but if you'd like a shot of healthy greens and a spice I've never heard of, enjoy! I had black coffee and it tasted better than most breakfast shots. They have a wide variety of lattes and other fancy custom options like the strawberry shortcake latte, etc. Ordered the breakfast burrito (sausage) and it was very good. I think I had the hangover burrito before (same thing but with gravy on top) and would opt for that one again next time. I had the strawberry banana pancakes at a prior visit as well, and remember them fondly. My dining companion had biscuits and gravy and said they were good. He is a man of few words. For dinner, they have a great menu that is 'latin flavors' as they say - everything from traditional Mexican food you'd find elsewhere to Argentinian options and more. They have great food. On a nice day, the patio is great other than the street traffic noise. This is a great option if you're wanting to get away from the other Mexican restaurants in town but still want something along those lines.
