This place is amazing! We were in town during our moving trip. Everything we had was incredible! My wife had the chimichanga, and I had the California burrito. We split the queso and a steak street taco. All of it was amazing. The service was great as well! Always made sure we were good and if we needed anything. This mom and pop family run restaurant is one you don't want to miss! The decor is a delightful collage of scenes from the movie COCO. The music adds to the atmosphere in a very pleasant way. The shredded chicken taco was crisp and flavorful. The tamale was homemade and reminded me of the delicious tamales I used to get in San Antonio, Texas! The chicken enchilada was an excellent addition to the meal. My wife judges the quality of a Mexican restaurant by the taste and consistency of their chili rellenos. She rated hers as a serious five of five! The sopapillas were light and fluffy with ample butter and honey to make them a flavorful end to an excellent meal. The waitresses make you feel like you're part of the family. They weren't overly attentive, but ensured each customer was happy with their meal. Next time we're in Rock Springs we will definitely stop in for an excellent Mexican dinner. read more

Coming from California, we are pretty fortunate to have a wide variety of amazing Mexican restaurants. While passing through Rock Springs, we get a craving for tacos & begin our hunt for some "real" Mexican food. We found this little spot, off the beaten path in an older part of town and it was love at first sight! Nothing fancy, much like the little hole-in-wall places we've visited in CA & Mexico. We ordered simple combo plates with shredded beef tacos and I had a chile relleno (my fave). My husband had the beef enchilada that he said was delicious. The food was hot, the relleno perfect & the crunchy shells on our tacos were yummy! The waitress was absolutely adorable and so friendly! We will definitely return! read more

Great food and good service! Had the Cadillac Margarita and Tacos al Carbon. One steak and one chicken, both were very good. Got them on soft corn of course (came with soft flour on the menu - so gringo!). Also subbed the refried beans for borracho beans, came with some pico and guacamole as well. Seems like a simple mom and pop operation, not in the "fancy" part of town. Wow! Their salsa is flavorful without too much heat. Seafood enchiladas were delicious. The topping enhances the seafood, not overwhelming them. And the sopapillas were light and crispy, served with butter and honey. My husband really liked his ceviche tostada and soft beef taco. Great little spot in historic Rock Springs! Restaurant is adjacent to a tiendita which is convenient for road snacks. Chili Verde was great and served with warm tortillas. Arroz con Pollo served with some quite tasty verduras. Clean and very friendly staff. read more

Only giving a 2 for the tast of the food. Everything else gets a zero. Took 23 min. to get our margaritas and another 25 min to get our food. There was only one other table with patrons. Terrible service and they kept apologizing. Don't apologize just do it right. Decor is horrendous with rejected booths from like a recently closed restaurant. Everthing is overpriced for this back alley place that's across from a gentlemens Club. Spent $50 for 2 meals and 2 drinks in 2hrs...wasn't worth half that. Pass. read more

We love this place... family owned, and made to order.... So it takes a little longer. Haven't tried the cocktails, but assume they're the sugary stuff most restaurants have. They have amazing extra spicy salsa if you ask for it. Queso rivals my own homemade, which a EPIC. Wow, did I go to the same place?? Service was, lost? Never asked if I'd like another drink. Refill the chips, needed because it was an hour to get our food. Hey, note to staff, fajitas comes with tortillas!!! Not ten minutes later!! The Chile Colorado was absolutely inedible. The Carne Verde Burrito was lackluster and had chunks of fat in it. Not pork! Had to go back kitchen to ask for napkins after asking at the table three times. Another 10 minutes to get the check and basically should have just left. Good luck if you try it. read more

We wanted great Mexican food and big margaritas and boy did this place fit the bill. Kind of a hole in the wall, but the waitress was a sweetheart and the food and drinks delicious and oversized. The San Francisco enchiladas were a surprising treat and the appetizer combo plate was enough for 3-4 people. We rolled out of there will fully bellies and smiles on our faces. Passing through en route to Denver. This place is delicious! I had their shrimp fajita and it's just as good as those I've had in Mexico!

The food was very flavorful and hot. We ordered the Carnitas plate and the Steak salad. The carnitas meat was very authentic and not just shredded pork as in other places. Salsa was fresh and very tasty. Portion sizes were satisfying. Waitress could have smiled a little... but overall it was a great dining experience. read more

The Chile Verde burrito is the best I have ever had. It was homemade and mouth watering, with the right amount of pork and heat. To top it off, literally, is a housemade tomatillo sauce and a moderate amount of cheese. Togethher, the spice of the Chile Verde, the neutralizing flour tortilla and the fresh and slightly sour tomatillo sauce make for a 5-star dish. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they had run out of Chile Verde the night before. As a result, I had an enchilada plate and opted for tomatillo sauce over traditional red.
