I have a theory that when a Chinese restaurant offers Egg Foo Young then it's pretty legit. I wound up getting the Singapore Chow Mein and I was not disappointed. It was a generous portion, same with the kung pao chicken my husband ordered. We finished it all after a long day of not eating due to driving all day. We were pleased with our dishes and we plan on making this a visit every time we are in the area. We have quite a few more to try, starting next with that egg foo young! The servers are nice and made it a point to check on you just enough to not bother your meal, but to make sure you're doing good. It has such a small town kind of "Cheers" vibe. We met a patron who comes twice a week and has been doing that for fifteen years! If that doesn't say something about this place, then I don't know what would tell you. Can you believe there is a Chinese American dinner in Rock Springs, in the heart of Wyoming? Well now you do! This place was recommended by our Motel hotel staff (we were staying at the Baymont by Windham half mile away) because "they make the best cheeseburger in town". Not being a burger addict, I still decided to go as I knew they were serving Chinese food as well and oh boy... it didn't disappoint. The Chef is an older Chinese gentleman. This place has been in business since 1968! The staff is nice and efficient. My Singapore Chow Mien were delicious and the Low Mien to die for. I was lurking on my neighbor's dish (Kung Pao Chicken) that seemed to be pretty delish as well. Don't get my wrong, the Chinese food is slightly Americanized but it's on point! Then place is an old school diner, and they also offer all American food with daily specials. Many local seem to be going there. Make sure you stop by, wherever you are heading to! read more

We just arrived in town and were starving so we picked this location close to our camp and the freeway. It was within the parking lot of the truck stop next door, but they had barricades separating their parking from the truck area. We did not have trouble finding a parking spot. They weren't too busy and we were sat in a corner booth. My husband was looking for a good burger and I wanted to try the Chinese options so we both had options on their menu. The waitress was friendly, but not very attentive. I didn't get a refill on my soda, which would have been nice to get based on the price of the refillable drink. I ordered the Sesame Chicken which came with a separate bowl of white rice. There was a ton of sauce, almost too much, and the chicken was overpowered by it. The chicken was a bit overcooked which made it chewy. I ended up taking some home and eating it the second time with less sauce worked out better. My meal came with egg drop soup, but it was more like chicken noodle with veggies. It tasted good and hit the spot for an appetizer while we waited for our entrees. My husband said the chili didn't have much flavor and the burger was just ok. The fries were very good, and the highlight of the meal. I took the leftovers home as well because they were too good to leave behind. read more

Surprisingly good. We ate here 3 times in a week while visiting the area. Shockingly the Chinese food is excellent with large portions. Some of the best we've had! In Rock Spring, WY? YES! Apparently family owned for 50 years. Lunch special were great. Fried rice special was terrific. Soup or salad (green lettuce, not nasty white lettuce), egg roll ((delicious), chow mein. The food was pretty decent. I mean we are in Wyoming. The place was a little small so I ordered to go. However the complaint I have is the manager asked the waiter to have me wait outside for my food because I have a dog. He's A SERVICE ANIMAL might I add. Does she not know you can be sued for this ?? First they didn't even ask. And 2nd he has on a vest stating he's a service dog and I keep my paperwork with me even though that's illegal as well to ask for paperwork. My standard poodle does not shed and if he did the hair is hypoallergenic. I am a truck driver and it's not many places where we can get a decent meal. But any other time I would have not spent my money at a place like this. read more

The food was soooo good! Our waiter was quite likeable, Omar, and took excellent care of us. My son had the spaghetti with a bowl of chicken noodle soup. He commented how good the soup was, but couldn't finish his spaghetti and gave it to his dad after he ate part of it. I had the liver and onions with mashed potatoes. So excellent! I chose a crispy green salad instead of soup, very good. My husband chose the Chili Burger. He said it was excellent. We're FULL. I thought about dessert at the beginning of the meal, because I've always liked Boston Cream Pie from my early waitressing life. But after: too full for dessert. The restaurant was what you might describe as a "hole in the wall". Not fancy at all on the outside, but nice inside with a few booths, several tables, and a large U-shaped counter for single diners, or diners who want to sit right up there. Like everyone else has said before, this place is Scruffy on the outside, and in a rough gravel lot, It's next to a chevron gas station/ truck stop. It's clean and tidy on the inside and the staff are Polite and friendly. And I'm guessing the majority of the people who Come here are truck drivers like me. They have an unusual mix of Chinese and American Foods, and the prices are reasonable. I had the chicken fried steak and it was HUGE. And a chicken and rice soup. Stopped by at the Renegade after 6 hours of flying and the Singapore chow mein absolutely hit the spot. The portion was gigantic and was easily enough to take home for another meal. Renegade is a diner that serves both American and Chinese food and does a good job of both. The prices are reasonable, the service is solid and we enjoyed it both times we ate there. I have been in here twice and the first time was a good experience. However when I stopped back in the last time the service was slow and the prices seemed to have gone up significantly. I no longer found the value to be reasonable. We waited 10 minutes for a table and even longer for drinks. Finally we just walked out having received no service whatsoever. The exit's ring-around-the-rosy revealed a nearby oddity: a banner for "AMERICAN AND CHINESE FOOD" around a rather neglected looking diner situated in the center of a decaying asphalt parking lot. My fiancé had been craving Chinese food for weeks. I parked us quite close to the entrance and winced too late at my contextually-idiotic getup as we entered - my borrowed black women's skinny jeans the bright red "F**K TRUMP" pin on my jacket collar were likely the cause of the trouble included in the long-lingering stares we received. The place's demeanor indicated a regular-saturated atmosphere - two young couples in working clothes would come and go in the hour or so it took us to get our food and eat. The rest of our company were significantly elder - quiet and weary. Our waitress seemed to be neutral to us and professionally welcoming. She took our orders promptly and tended to our coffee consumption politely, despite my waning farm boy manners. Of course, we were the loudest of the whole bunch, shuffling around a huge road atlas, laughing at the television's display of Fox News, and admiring from a distance the user interface of the Renegade's prehistoric point-of-sale system. The menus were simply split equally between "Chinese" and "American" dishes. I'm 90% sure I ordered a burger and fries, which were forgettable, but my taste is subpar enough to be totally irrelevant. My fiancé reported seeing a cook drop a carrot on the ground before adding it to a dish. She ordered "something Chinese," but would experience enough disgust that she prefers not to recall more specifically. "It was bad. I didn't take pictures of it because it was too grotesque to look back at. I felt ill during and after the meal. Slimy."
