The food, ambience and service has always been excellent here, I have no issue with that. I have been to the restaurant several times, and that is consistent. Most recently I was there on a Wednesday night in July, with a reservation. We had finished dinner, paid the check and were finishing a glass of wine, when we were asked to leave because there were people outside waiting a half hour for a table. We were there 1 hour and 15 minutes. Doesn't seem like a long time for 4 people for dinner! Were they expecting to turn over our table in 45 minutes? Never have I had a server ask me to leave the table, They need to figure out their reservation system instead of asking patrons to leave. read more

Mike the owner is such a gentleman. My wife and I walked in for our second visit with out reservations. He looked over things and sat us. The place was jamming. On top of that the food was deliciously cooked to perfection. I had the Eggplant Rolintini while my wife had the Braised Rib over Mashed Potatoes. It melted in your mouth. Don't go here if you want a relaxing dinner. Party of 6 and we were rushed from the bevy we sat down. Appetizers were good except for the rice balls which were covered in Alfredo sauce? Yuk. Too much cream. The bolognese sauce would have been enough. After our meal which was ok we were rushed ( some of us weren't finished) but they were pushing us to finish and take our plates. You could see many parties waiting for tables so they obviously overlooked. Looks like they're worried more about filling tables then satisfying their patrons. We won't be back. read more

Yes. Get a reservation and go. The food was great. We shared the excellent sausage stuffed mushrooms. Sole (?) Marachiara was light, fresh and delicious. Eggplant Rollatini was just the way I like it, eggplant lightly breaded and flavorful, very good cheeses and the sauce, I finished it with a spoon...so classy. The meal was made all the more enjoyable by our waiter Mark. He is a real asset to this place. We'll be back. Maybe we'll save room for dessert. read more

Initially sat down on time and waitress immediately came over and opened our wine. Bread was brought to table very small amount for 4 people but was fantastic as well as the oil. The food was very good and plentiful. The needs improvement is definitely the service. Bread to table and no dishes. We ordered dinner 2 Veal Parms, 1 Flounder and stuffed rigatoni. Perhaps as the waitress you should state that pasta does not come with the Veal and offer a side dish. Also, grated cheese is normal with Italian food and should be offered upon entrée delivery. I wanted so much to like this place. It is a cute quaint little place in the heart of downtown Point Pleasant Beach. The service and ambiance were wonderful. The apps were very good as well! We had rice balls, stuffed mushrooms and the spedini. They were all well prepared / presented and tasty. Even the house salad and dressing were very good as well. Then the main course came and that is where it ended. I ordered the filet of sole Marechiara and my friend ordered the salmon oreganata. The broth was ok but the texture of the fish was not good. It was mushy - almost like it was previously frozen? My friend experienced the same thing with her salmon. We couldn't quite pinpoint it. The fish had a very strange texture and neither of us enjoyed our meals. My husband got the chicken parm which was cooked nicely but the sauce was too sweet. My other friend ordered the osso bucco which was the best entree out of the 4. I'll give it another try and will stay away from the fish! read more

The other night my husband and I decided to venture out for some Italian food. I called around 4 and we were able to get a table to 2 at 6...yea! We arrived and were greeted by a waitress who seated us after a couple o minutes. Our waitress explained the specials. We decided to order from the regular menu. A very nice man who I will call a servers assistant brought water followed by warm (tasty) bread with a seasoned olive oil dip. My husband ordered the stuffed mushrooms. I ordered eggplant tower. Both dishes were larger than we expected. Six decent size mushrooms stuffed with a lovely sausage dressing. My tower was the size of a main course, which was totally unexpected. All meals come with a small house salad dressed in a very tasty house made dressing. For our main plates he had the herb crumb crusted halibut. It was nicely seasoned and cooked. It was served with a small serving of risotto. I ordered the chicken parm , as it is my go to dish the first time I go to a Italian place. My theory is if you can't make chicken parm...give up!!! The plate was covered in a nicely flavored and prepared chicken cutlet with sauce/cheese. Which tasted was perfect! Now of course your can't pass up on dessert...right? We decided to share an order of their Amaretto Tiramisu. It was light/ airy with a wonderful flavor a Amaretto and crunch of toasted almonds. A nice change from the more traditional Marsala version. My husband order a double espresso which he enjoyed. Casa D'Angelo is decorated quite simply, but very nice. Fabric table clothes and napkin which we both like. It's a BYOB so you get as good a wine as you bring. Service was friendly but not over bearing. The waitress and server assistant were pleasant and on top of things even though the place was busy. Negatives, there has to be one or two, no? Maybe just my own thing but when ever I have ordered chicken parm anywhere you always get a small side of pasta. Didn't happen here. Now having said that after my eggplant tower, I only ate 3 bites of chicken. Like I said that tower was a main course service. Of course the chicken came home and was enjoyed for lunch by the both of us the next day. The only other thing for me was their sauce is a little on the sweet side. All and all I think we shall return...hell it's only a 10 minute walk from our house. read more

Here's the real story about this place: you will wait in a tiny, cold foyer with a single chair. The manager will check on those waiting only about every 10 minutes or so, so most guests will have to open the door into the dining area, looking for a hostess or manager to check them in, thus bringing in the cold air with them. Since the restaurant is small, those sitting near the door will feel the cold on them throughout their meal. You may have to wait twenty minutes past your reservation time to be seated, like us, or you may leave after waiting for forty minutes past your reservation time - like one of the other couples waiting with us. The manager never apologized or acknowledged their hardship and seemed miffed when informed by the rest of us that they had left. The tables are set way too close to each other, so you may be jostled throughout your meal by waiters or guests navigating the small restaurant. Food is hit or miss. The mozzarella and tomato appetizer was completely undistinguished and the Chicken di Casa was almost inedible. The Veal Francese was good, however. Service just ok. Waiter acknowledged our wait but then strangely took his time taking our order. Will not be back. Too many things wrong with this place. read more

First, some background: we were celebrating both the Bay Head tree lighting and the convergence of some out of town relatives. We had a party of 10 for dinner. Here is where it gets interesting: we had mistakenly made our reservation for 10.... At a different restaurant, in Ohio, also called Casa D'Angelo! As our party arrived at the restaurant, and we let the person who greeted us know that our party of 10 were here, we were ALL surprised that there was no expectation or reservation for us in Point Pleasant. Amazingly, every single team member at D'Angelo was accepting and positive. They calmly and quickly put together a 10-top table for us, despite already being busy with a nearly full dining room. That was only the beginning of an outstanding experience. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and completely able to guide us through our delicious dinner. Phenomenal menu. Wonderful specials. And impeccable service. Between us, we tried nearly every item, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. A couple hours later we all left having fallen in love with this restaurant. (Oh and we did call Ohio and happily discovered we had also made that elusive reservation for the following night... so we cancelled it without consuming their dining room.) read more

I have lived in point Pleasant for 25 years and look forward to going to Casa D'Angelo. I enjoyed my first experience. The second time I went the owner Michael's girlfriend was there which made it a very uncomfortable experience as she just kept walking around, staring at all of the tables, I could not enjoy my meal and the food is always good, I don't think you walking around and staring at the tables! It does not give it a friendly atmosphere also the dead bushes in the front and the black curtains in the front window does not make it look inviting! The decor is very dreary read more

This new local restaurant is the same experience you would get if you were doing New York City dining. The owner/chef MIKE makes appearances to assure your service, food, and overall dining pleasure is exceptional. The rice balls, eggplant tower, and calamari appetizers are perfect. The homemade limoncello cake is exceptional .They do their best to accommodate everyone for a reservation without trying to constrict to a two hour table turnaround. if required once you're full dining experiences from soup to nuts, including dessert and coffee has been completed and your check has been paid they may politely ask you to give up the table as other patrons are waiting to be seated. I did see a review for someone complaining about that situation and that she would never go back again. HER LOSS. I have recommended this restaurant too many people and will continue to promote . Food was delicious. I had egg plant rolatini and my husband had veal franchise We had tiramisu for dessert. We brought a fine bottle of wine to share. However, after dinner the hostess came up to us an hour and 10 minutes after being seated to tell us someone was waiting for our table. I could not help myself. We both had a half glass of wine left. I called her out on the seating "time" and explained we were still finishing our wine. She apologized and said, sorry I thought you were a walk in. We were not, we made a reservation. What difference would it make? No one wants to go out for fine dining and be rushed out in an hour and 10 minures. Kind of a big mistake on their part. We felt our experience was very nice until we were taken back by her request for us to leave. Disappointed in such an uncalled statement......"Someone is waiting for your table after an hour 15 min".
