I came to deliver desserts and left with some of the best pizza anywhere in NJ. It's thin crust with just the right amount of perfectly spiced tomato sauce. I had pepperoni. Coins of spicy meat against the crispy crust and oregano laced sauce. Perfection!! read more

This was our first taste of R'Ortegas and won't be the last. We wanted pizza and I am gluten free- so we ordered two kinds. Being gluten free. pizza is not good eaten out. But this was crispy crust, hot bubbly cheese.. and tasted delicious. My gentleman's regular pizza was wonderful. He makes his own pizza and is very picky about eating pizza out. First of all, this eatery is now SIPRIANI'S. Brought a bottle of white wine, arrived here Friday evening just before 6 pm, just before music started. The place was about 3/4 full (holds around 50) and one young waitress (who admitted she was new) and one older man were trying to deal with the customers, most had just arrived. We sat down and after waiting over 15 minutes had to ask for a menu. Then we got hot garlic bread, delicious, and we opened our own wine. We ate bread for the next 15 minutes before the waitress took our order. Then, we waited for our salads that never arrived, which we mentioned when our entrees arrived. One would think they would quickly bring out salads, but not here. The good news is that the entrees were delicious. I had Grouper and clams over pasta, $26.99 and my lady had Salmon Harvest with vegetables; but another problem: it clearly says "Entrees served with fresh garden salad and choice of pasta" but she got no pasta. When the waitress took the order, my lady asked for Rigatoni. She pointed out that she was waiting for her pasta. Then, the waitress finally brought out a dish of penne saying "ok, this is on the house." We explained that there is no question of "on the house" because entrees are supposed to come with pasta. In short, the service was dreadful. I cannot really blame the waitress because they need more help, at least a busboy to clean tables. They also need better management to insure that the place is not chaotic, as it was Friday evening 6 to 730 pm. The food was good, but the overall experience was not good, so we will probably never return. read more

Happened to drive by this restaurant on a trip to Neptune & noticed it in a strip mall. Found out it was newly opened & wanted to try it. So glad we did. Although not fancy the dining area is clean & open. The service was pleasant & efficient. Beginning with complimentary garlic knots & sauce. My meal was Chicken Caprese in a pesto cream sauce over linguine. My daughter had a Crispy Chicken Carbonara & my wife tried the Mediterranean Grouper over Angel hair with a lemon sauce. All the entrees were excellent & came with salad. The prices were reasonable & portions were very nice. Also a BYOB. Really would give this restaurant a try if you are in the area. read more

My family had a WONDERFUL night at Cipriani's! We had a big table and I was curious how they would do, considering they are newly open and still tweaking things. They were quite busy, but service was excellent and the waitress was attentive and personable. The appetizers (fried calamari, mussels in red sauce, mussels in white sauce, and stuffed mushrooms) were outstanding! I had the cavatelli bolognese and it was a generous portion and good. I think the sauce could use a little work and it would be great. There was live entertainment by Billy Brown and he was delightful and added a nice feel to the night. I had a chocolate banana cream pie for dessert and it was to die for. Everyone in my party was raving about the food and the desserts and we all had an amazing time. With a little work, this will be one of the premier Italian restaurants on the Jersey Shore. read more

New to the area. Had lunch with my family here yesterday. Everything we ate was amazing! Garlic bread was absolutely to die for. Sauce was delicious! Pizza was very tasty. More cheese than I am used to but was still very good. Calamari was fried perfectly. Chicken fingers and fries were great, too My mom and dad both had eggplant (eggplant rollatini and eggplant parm sub) and they both enjoyed their food as well. Have to shout out the service for late lunch - Dave was fantastic!! Incredibly attentive, friendly and genuinely wanted to know how everything tasted and that we were happy with our food and experience while we were there. I was there yesterday, must of been a bad day eather for me or the chief. The food was horrible, everything tasted old from days before. The pasta was dried like it was left out exposed to air. The pizza was so watered that my son didn't like it and he loves pizza. Usually when things like this happen it's because they are not busy and the owners try to stick you with the old food. Definitely will never go there again. My wife was there last w weekend and was even worse I figured I'd try it before making this post no good. We ordered Mother's Day dinner here tonight. I got clams casino. My son got a tuna sub and my husband got "mama Luke burger." My son loved his tuna sub. He ate the entire thing! My clams were exceptional (maybe the best clams casino I ever had! They were so clean and the dressing was delish!). I could have eaten 4 more!!!!!! (Although I was kind of expecting 6) But mama Luke. Husband ordered this on faith, because there was no description. It had Brie, bacon, cheese, egg, arugula?!?!?! And some unknown dressing. Pretty nasty in our humble opinion. Please add a description, if this is a burger you stand behind. Brie is a cheese you want to let people know they are ordering.
