    Chicken Milanese

They're definitely still ramping up to handle the crowds they're seeing (be patient and understanding!) but everyone who helped us including the owner, Kyle, and the 3 young servers were friendly and helpful! Plus, the food was excellent. We came on a particularly busy Saturday on the late side, so we dealt with a few items having run out, but it meant they were busy and doing good business, so that was awesome to see! We enjoyed the meatballs app, shrimp scampi, rigatoni Napoli, and chicken Milanese. Will be returning for dinner and coming back to try the sandwiches!

Is this the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to?…read more Actually, yes, it is. And I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants. The wait for a table was 45 minutes, but it was worth every minute. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We ended up being seated in a back patio room and though it was very hot outside (one of those 100 degree days last summer), it was actually very nice in there. The show started with someone asking for our drink order, then coming back with said drinks. After that she brought out some starts on the house, courtesy of chef and owner Joe. We were off to a great start! Soon after she returned to get our dinner order. After that, Chef Joe himself showed up to our table to thank us for visiting his restaurant and ask how we liked things so far. We let him know those starters were perfect...eggplant balls and a corn/tomato salad. Eventually our dinner came. Both dishes were waaaaaaaay more food than either of us expected. I had ordered chicken with mozzarella squares on top and drizzled in balsamic, which was a special created by Chef Joe's wife, according to the menu. My partner got eggplant parm...and wow, what a pile of food it was. Two huge eggplant pieces piled high with delicious sauce and served with some delectable pasta. Chef Joe came back to the dining room awhile later to ask people how their entrees were, and we let him know this was a great experience. I want to go back to Point Pleasant just to get here again. This time I will make a reservation.

The night started with Joe Spano, the owner, stopping at our table to bring several little dishes before we even had a chance to look at the menu. The meatballs (made with actually no meat but rather eggplant) were pure sorcery...like so good there aren't words. He noticed our wine bottle (it's BYOB so come prepared!), and by pure coincidence, it was his favorite bottle. Joe asked to show another costumer because they had been discussing wines earlier, and he wanted to make sure they got to see the label. If that wasn't personal enough, the walls are adorned with black and white framed photographs of family from back in the day to the present. The environment is clean, well-maintained, and cozy. Every bite we had was exceptional and the portions were huge! We left contently full but with plenty of leftovers. I'm quite sure every meal will exceed the expectations of even the pickiest of eaters. Our server, Brian (or Bryan) was new but attentive and informative. He spent time talking with his tables and being personable while also making sure everyone was taking care of. Overall, I highly recommend experiencing a meal at Spano's at least once....but after your first bite, you'll likely be making your next reservation before you leave (like we saw many people do)!

Appetizers were great, ordered probably half of the appetizers on the menu, all were great. I really like the calamari and the giant cheese balls. I got the spicy rigatoni with a crispy chicken cutlet and the drunken parm, very delicious, large and had left overs. Definitely coming back, food was flavorful and the service was great, super easy and simple!

Yummy Of course water, bread delivered to the table. It's a BUO ! We also had the large Caesar salad. Delicious and plenty for 2-3 guests. Then came the main course. I had the lasagna. It's very nice to see the restaurant welcoming everyone, serving everyone with this neighborhood, community vibe and Al was really nice and he always told us "...it's delicious, you're gonna love it...try this!" He was really nice and our family had a great lunch here on Saturday, May 9th. Al made sure to get to know us as we chatted over the meal and I even had to opportunity to see the fine dining restaurant room ( Gorgeous!) and I also saw the Soprano Room, with a beautiful painting of the cast! The Food: 10/10 Cheesesteak on a 10" Italian bread roll. The Mozzarella sticks were 10/10 with their house sauce, Wings were so delicious, our kids LOVED them and the blue cheese was soooo good. The prosciutto sandwich with the house made roasted red peppers are excellent- if not the best roasted red peppers I've ever eaten! The pizza is a thin style, similar to NY ( Brooklyn ) pizza. I know I'll be back and I have to experience their fine dining!

We made a…read morereservation a few days ago and were warmly greeted and seated in the side part of the restaurant that we always sit in. The food and the service is always spot on. For an appetizer we had the crab cake that was probably the best we have ever had. The corn and the sauce just elevates it with barely any breadcrumbs and all meat. For dinner my husband has the chicken parm and I had the scallops. $55 for 6 scallop is a bit high. It said it came with broccoli rabe and corn risotto which I immediately wanted but I didn't realize the broccoli rabe would be mixed into the corn risotto. Wish it was separate, as I'm not a huge fan broccoli rabe and it kind of overpowered the taste of the corn risotto. (One star removed for the high price and rabe mixed in). For desert we had the special which was also delicious. Can't wait to go back for the summer menu.

Right off the bat, I took note of the fact that they couldn't seat us at a table big enough for our party so we couldn't sit together. I thought that we would be sitting at opposite ends of the restaurant but they sat us at tables directly next to each other. I know that they could have easily moved our tables together but they refused to, which was honestly kind of silly and didn't set the right tone for the dinner. We weren't happy and it felt a little snooty. For the appetizers, my table split the fried calamari and I ordered a crab cake. I love crab cakes and fried calamari. I was not disappointed. The calamari was delicious and it was the perfect texture so I could tell that it was neither over or undercooked. I would have preferred that peppers were added to the dish like it would be in a traditional dish but it was pretty good the way it was too. I also loved the crab cake and the orange sauce that it came with. I really liked both the texture and the flavor. For my entree, I ordered the rigatoni bolognese. Bolognese meat sauce is my absolute favorite Italian sauce. While I think there could have been more ground beef in the sauce I still think that it tasted delicious with the perfect amount of flavor.
