Long story short the barber Aaron / Erin who doesn't really need to be cutting hair. You'll see what I mean if you go to this shop. He cut all the back side of my hair off and left all the top and the sides long. My hair was about 6 inches in length all round & the owner got in to a personal huff because I didn't want them to touch my hair when the only offer that was viable was to cut off the rest of my hair I just paid $133 for. All in all, this review shouldn't be withdrawn. Bc the only fix was to cut off the rest of my hair. I will never go back to this location. The owner is alright with the clippers but his second barber Arron / Aaron / Erin is trash. I will say I knew he was bound to make a mistake like he did before getting into the chair. That's the kind of work ethic I recognize him for. His vibe is off.

He was a new face, but he immediately impressed me. He listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered exactly the style I was looking for. Since then, I've returned several times and now confidently trust him with my cuts. EJ is professional, attentive, and respectful of my preferences. He offers helpful suggestions without ever pressuring a change, always making sure I'm comfortable before making any move. The shop itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a welcoming vibe. Not a show where they change clippers 6 times, where they are blasting hip hop, bright lights, asking if the can post your cut on social media, stopping to return texts or calls, and charging $50 plus before the tip. I don't need a "lineup", I don't need a beer. I've walked out of a couple places mid cut. They just cut hair here. Still shave with warm cream and a single blade. Old school! Nice conversations about current events. No nonsense. ALOT of veterans and current military get haircuts here. No appointments, just walk ins. Why not a 5...well. They are all cash. No other form of payment. I love my barber. He is getting up in age. I notice sometimes the cuts I get aren't as consistent. I will still keep coming back until I feel it's bad. I don't know who will cut my hair when then time comes.

Albert does the best fade, ever. I've been going to him since before he opened this shop, at least 15 years. I've graduated h.s., finished a B.A, received a M.A., joined the military, left the military, moved away for a PhD program, moved back to write my dissertation, and Albert has been there every step of the way. It's a no frills shop. You wont find chicks with revealing clothing messing up your hair because they never learned how to properly fade at whatever flunky beauty school they attended. This is a barber shop and they keep it simple. You'll typically find the one and only T.V. on some sort of afternoon courtroom show or morning television show (they really like Kelly & Michael). They have the usual outdated magazines to occupy your time while you wait. Albert and the other dudes have their regular customers. We will wait for our barber even if some dude brings in his three children ahead of you. That's just how it is. The thing I like most about this place is I don't even tell him how to cut my hair anymore, he just does it. That's pretty cool. Now, if I could just get my favorite bartender/bar to remember me like that I'll have lived a complete life. So if you have long flowing hair that requires a lot of maintenance and specialty products from a beauty salon, I don't know what Albert and his crew can do for you. I mean, they're talented and I'm sure they can hook you up, but they seem more old school to me. If you're in the military and need a medium reg, Westwood Village is your spot. Bonus: Albert will trim the eyebrow hairs that grow all wacky when you get older. Indeed, the first time he did that I was like, WTF, I'm an old man now because I have crazy, uncontrollable hair growing randomly. Protip: Go early on the weekday if you can as it tends to get busy on the weekend and in the afternoon. They're closed on Sunday/Monday. And bring cash, no credit cards.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and asked if we had appointments...after establishing our walk-in status, Juan sat my son in his chair. It stood out with the red color on it. My son and I then explained to Juan what my son was thinking of getting for his haircut style. We used the examples of the haircuts from your IG posts. I let Juan and Aiden be as I waited outside a bit for my comfort. I even talked a bit with another barber, but didn't catch his name. He was also very chill and upon mentioning my prior service while talking, he thanked me for my service and we even talked with some of the employees of the store that was next to y'all. I went back in and my son was getting excited for how his new haircut was going to look. My son has disabilities similar to mine. I assured him it was looking great and Juan also talked with him. He helped calm both me and my son. When I explained the sensory overload and anxiety my son and I both deal with sometime, Juan was very understanding and even helped me talk my son through his front lineup and getting his eyebrows trimmed. I enjoyed the setup and music playing throughout our time there. Real low key cool place. We had a great experience and will definitely visit again soon.
