I arrived as a walk-in and got immediate service from a very friendly young barber named Steven. He asked me what I wanted and did a fantastic job of interpreting my vague desires into a sharp looking haircut. He was considerate, conversational (without being overly chatty), and very thorough with excellent attention to detail. My haircut took less than 20 minutes and I never felt rushed. Don't come here. The valet bumped my car to another car and dammaged it. Even though that can happen and he was kind, i had to take 10 minutes to write the claim etc. The barbershop told me I had to wait until the next available spot since it was busy! Really? They also seem very insisting about tips and you coming back so they give you a card all the time with their name. I called this morning to ask if they had some availability today at 11:30 and all i got was a "no bye". Maybe later? Why don't you tell me when you have available slots? So frustrating! read more

After reading glowing reviews of this place, I thought I'd check it out. The people were friendly, and the place had a nice old-school vibe. My haircut was okay, but I've had better at generic places like Super Clips or Sport Clips for roughly the same money. I usually get a #1 mid-fade on the sides and finger length hair on top to style, usually to the side, which a rather simple haircut. My barber went a little too military on me. I might go back at some point to see if I can get a better result with another barber or by communicating more specifically what I want. read more

My first week in town read the reviews decided to give it a shot. My advise on parking is to talk to the valet behind the hotel tell them you have an appointment and they will take care of your car. Was getting shaggy so went looking for a trim. First place, just the shop in the basement at the hotel was impressive. Talked to Dave who sat me in a well condition ol barber chair. Said was one of the new ones from 1947. Then he listened to my wants and did exactly what I asked. No clippers. Scissors like they used to. Cleaned up with straight razor and a little juice. I came to San Antonio for a week and I was in need of a hair cut. I called the barber shop that was located in a beautiful sherton hotel. My barber's name was Dave , I was running late and Dave kept the shop open late for me. Thank you dave for that! I was impressed just by the atmosphere and the old school look. The other barber stayed late with us and had a wonderful conversation with my sister and I about growing up and how similar it was. My bald fade came out perfect just the way I wanted it. Waited 30 minutes for the barber to show up. He shows up 10 minutes past his schedule and proceeds to eat lunch instead of cutting my hair.

I will not exaggerate in saying that this is the best haircut I have ever had. Being a Marine, I am required to get weekly haircuts. Often times, the only accessible barber on base gets hair wrong.
