Stopped in here because of the good reviews and I have to say I agree. I got the menudo and 2 tongue tacos. I am VERY PICKY about menudo and caldos being their specialty I came in with high expectations. They serve it with hand made tortillas which is how it should be. I think it was GOOD but I have had better. AGAIN I am picky. But the tongue tacos were flavorful and they were very generous with the portions. My husband tried the caldo de lengua which def sounds iffy but let me tell you he LOVED it. We had never tried that before but he is happy he did. DONT hesitate and try it! I also loved the decor and the vibe, the place was PACKED but we didn't have to wait long for our food. The service was also very good, the cashier even offered samples which I thought was very kind. I will def be back!

I came here on my birthday because I wanted soup. I did my homework, and had it stuck in my head that I wanted "Caldo do Cameron" (shrimp). I have had menudo and pozole, I wanted something different. The soup was amazing. I don't care that I had to peel my shrimp; this is not my house. What blew me away was the tortillas. I know people have said they were made to order, but it was fun to stand at the counter while I'm ordering and watch them do it. And they were thicc!! I had I think every taco and here is how I viewed them: Mole: Lighter on the chocolate, best I have ever had. Asada: Perfect Al pastor: Beautiful Lengua: I loved it. Not too much seasoning to overpower the fact you are eating tongue. For the first time, I got flavor over texture. Chicken: Didn't have any flavor, seemed like boiled chicken. All things being equal, I had a blast. The atmosphere is great, the music inside was fun (I am still learning), and I will come back.

Every year after visiting the tulips I go for authentic Mexican. I couldn't remember the name of the place I visit once a year and couldn't find it on Yelp so I picked this place I couldn't finish my mole taco because it was too spicy, I can't hold that against them. Mole sauces come in all varieties of spiciness. I just happen to prefer mine smokey or with more subtle hints of spice and chocolate. I could tell everything was made fresh. The meat in my über spicy taco was very tender. The tortillas we got, my corn tortilla was soft and very flavorful. My friend's flour tortilla for her quesadilla was also very soft, pliable and she attests, was very delicious. Service was friendly and bilingual. It felt like it was a very authentic Mexican restaurant. Me and my best friend were the only ones speaking English. It was nice. The place was spacious, 4 booths, too many 4 tops for me to remember. It would be good for groups. I'm not sure if I'll go back next year after the tulips as the menu seems to be a little spicy for mi delicada pallet. But I loved the authenticity. So who knows. El próximo año la veremos. 2024 - Review #3

The Large pozole is possible the best I've had at a restaurant. Hands down best in town. Highly recommend it.

Food was amazing, the service is out of hand great. The pozole portion was generous. This restaurant has some of the best carne asada I've had in a while.

I recently moved to Oregon from Texas and I was recommended this place. I can honestly say that it scratches that itch for Mexican food that I grew up with. I tried a few different meals, pozole, mole, tacos, quesadilla and had their Horchata. It was delicious and I plan on coming back. Highly recommend for everyone to try. Tasty, quick, cozy, and friendly.

Caldo De Camarón and a cup of Champurrado

Food was delicious and the service was excellent! Highly recommend the champurrado and Caldo De Camarón.

Left to right: chicken mole, lengua, al pastor tacos.

Good menu selection, some unique items compared to other places, like the chicken mole. Flavor and tenderness of meat's were very good. Ambiance is nice, fun music playing, nice cozy decor, modern and clean inside, friendly service. They have tacos that you can dip, but only on Fridays. Would come back again.

This is our go-to Mexican place in Woodburn and it hasn't disappointed yet…read more Food has always been good, love getting chips, salsa & extra sauces in squeeze bottles. Ice water at the utensil stand. Service was so friendly. There were meats we were unfamiliar with, so the counter staff offered us a small sample. Barbacoa is now my jam! We ordered 4 meals: Chile relleno, tamale special, torta, & enchilada special. The specials are well-priced at under $12. We stopped in about 45 minutes before closing and staff did not rush us out. Nothing fancy ambiance-wise and this place looks similar to other Mex places on Front St. So make sure you're in Luis'!

No business embodies the vibrant Mexican community of Woodburn more so than Luis's Taqueria…read more Located along the strip of businesses on Front Street, this family owned business have been a perennial destination for Michoacan-style Mexican fare for over 3 decades. The first thing folks will notice is the colorful decor of paper piñatas across the ceiling and the spacious digs with lots of 4 top tables for some limited group action. Orders are placed at the counter and the menu is vast enough where there is something to offer for everyone. Some immediate recommendations would be their tamales platter, along with their enchiladas rojas, and their Americanized tacos dorados. Their burritos are especially large and a complete gut bomb for anyone looking for a major filler. Their ceviche tostadas are beautiful, along with their layered tortas, and hearty chimichangas. While I don't love their corn tortillas or the tacos, I would be down to give them another shot. Cabeza and carne asada especially. The prices have crept up over the years, to where many items have hit the sub $10+ range and even tacos are at $3.50 a pop. There is a price to pay for fame, but the only time it should be dinged is if the price no longer matches the quality. Ultimately, this will always be one of the city's most popular lunch destinations and local haunts. It's so well known that Obama has been here (#1) and continues to bring in new faces every week. This is a must visit for any Mexican food lover and especially for first timers in Woodburn. ____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/luiss-taqueria-woodburn?select=iYjRIeJrLS47keUaG0_vVQ
