During our trip to Monterey, our tire light came on, so we searched for the nearest gas station. This little spot was the closest, and since it was in the middle of nowhere, we didn't have high expectations. But wow, were we pleasantly surprised! The property is surprisingly large, with a Tesla charging station tucked away in the back. They have a great selection of snacks, and we especially loved the charming succulent stand and inviting patio areas were such a great touch! While we didn't interact with the staff much, they were friendly when ringing up our purchases. The bathrooms were spacious and very clean, which is always a huge plus. My only minor gripe is the hand dryers, not a fan of the whole "poop air" situation, but that's just me. Lol. Overall, this is easily one of the better Chevrons I've visited. If you're in the area and need a pit stop, this place is a solid choice! read more

This is a great place to fill up your gas tank while traveling. It is connected to the Casa De Fruta venue, and has a lovely gift shop inside the gas station. The restrooms are very clean. The staff is friendly. We picked up some nice snacks to take home with us. We will be back next time we are traveling through the area. read more

I never make reviews for gas stations or pit stops but this is not only a review but also for bookmarking purposes for when we drive to SoCal. We stopped by this huge food mart at Casa de Fruta around 1am. It's probably the cleanest Chevron gas station we've ever been to. They also have Casa de Restaurant & Wine; the entire area looks really nice, clean and well kept. Bathrooms are very clean! They also have Tesla superchargers!! I'm going back down to SoCal in January so we're going to have to make another stop here, and possibly try their burritos! read more

This place has gone down hill sadly they used to be on top of it however now there's a bunch of kids working or rather chatting it up!! Twice now they have no coffee ready mind you this is a 24hr place!!! Things are over priced but it never phased me because the coffee was always hot it was always clean and service was great. Stopped to get gas here and also wandered inside the gas station to take a peek at the wine and gifts they had. There's plenty of small food and candy gift items. Lots of wine options as well! We were most intrigued by the variety of fruit wines and opted to get a pomegranate sparkling wine ($20) to try out. Apparently there's a separate line if you want to purchase alcohol. They made us go around the "normal" line to wait in a different spot, before redirecting us to the counter register right next to the one they were using to help other customers. I'm still confused about that inefficiency, but whatever. Side note - there are so many peacocks outside here! So fun! Side side note - The casa de frutas wine ended up not being as spectacular or special as we'd hoped, but it was still fun to try. Hopefully we'll be able to hangout in this area a little longer next time to see what else is around here. read more

Inflated prices . The store is tidy . The restrooms are clean . There's not a lot of services nearby . Their main advantage is they are the only game in town ? Also the staff is extra polite.... Not very happy with the Casa de Fruta burrito in chevron , they told me I can't order a tri-tip burrito but they advertise it outside , they didn't wanna serve me 2 older ladies and a young gentleman. Just finished our lunch and I will agreed with another reviewer that the Mexican food/burrito are TRASH. I've actually had great tacos and Mexican food at gas stations but this was terrible. 1:30pm on a Sunday; the area was busy with traffic. But the Mexican restaurant was sold out of the following: bread for Tri-tip, carne asada and rice. Who knew that a great place to grab a casual lunch at Casa De Fruta is inside a gas station. Advertised as Casa De Burrito on the billboards, they have burritos, tacos, nachos, or bowls. We opted for a trio of tacos to try all 3 protein options (beef, chicken, and pork) and decided the barbacoa beef was the winner with the chile verde pork a close second but took a pass on the chicken for round 2. For just shy of $7 for 3 tacos, it was a satisfying lunch without breaking the bank and they have indoor and outdoor tables that make you almost forget you are at a gas station. read more

Stopped here on way back from Pacific Grove.... Grubbed on a couple shredded beef tacos! The meat was seasoned just right and very lean. My mom had a burrito which was at least 1 lb! we stopped through today on our way home from hollister. my friend suggested that we order the tri tip sandwiches. the way he described the sandwich was so amazing (slow cooked tri tip, garlic spread on the bread etc). instead of the sandwich, i bought 3 chicken tacos, because WHO can resist tacos? i eat my tacos and when i say these were 3 of the tastiest, most amazing tacos that i have ever had? so i get a sample of my friends tri tip, and it was so tasty, well seasoned, and tender that i went inside again (after eating the three tacos) and i ordered more food. =-) i told my friends that i was going to take my food home to eat later, they said i was lying and i was lol! ate the rest in the parking lot. the food was amazing, the staff were all nice and friendly, the place was clean, and i look forward to visiting again read more

My girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by how cute and accommodating this establishment was. Special shout-out to Robert, who was working hard and sweeping at the front door when we came, guided us inside the store and then also helped us at the register even though it was late at night. Like most travelers, we came to this Chevron because we had to (running low on gas) and needed a break from driving so much from LA. It's also easy to access after you've loaded up on goodies from the fruit and candy shops just down the road. This review is solely for casa de burrito inside chevron Traveling through and decided to stop in for tacos. I love the chipotle chicken and typically have great customer service and conversation with the employees, however not today. Tuesday roughly 1:30-2:00 a young lady was working. I noticed a plastic bag of guacamole and I asked her if she had avocados in the back that she could cut up and add to my tacos and she replied "I didn't have time to make guacamole" So I kindly told her I didn't want the guacamole just sliced avocado and she replied again in with attitude "like I said, I didn't have time to make guacamole." It was all down hill from there. She made me 2 sloppy tacos with more cilantro than anything and then smashed my container of salsa into my small to go box. Next time I pass through and see her working I'll Skip casa burrito and hit up the deli instead. read more

The Casa de Coffee has a great selection of Stash brand teas and several different blends of coffee. They are also the only purveyors of Lenny & Larry brand Complete Cookies and Complete Breakfast Bars. Very addicting. There is also plenty of Casa de Parking here. Ok Casa de Fruta is hard to categorize in Yelp. Is it ? A. A Fruit Stand from 1908 B. A restaurant C. A bakery D. Convenience store/chevron station E. An Rv park with a hotel F. All of the above. I have not tried everything, as there are several free standing buildings. However, this review is for one thing and one thing only. The tamales in the Chevron convenience store/ truck stop are the best masa I've ever had with the most flavorful chicken and beef. They also have veggie ones and pork which I did not try. Maybe it was because it's in a village of farming and food with over a hundred years of tradition in the middle of beautiful valley lands, but these tamales are the bomb. I will be back!!! read more

Watch out for the high prices on snacks at this store. They are double the normal prices. A small bag of chips $2 and the next size up that is normally $1.99 i.e. $5.29. I would like to give Casa de Burrito a 3.8 star. You can find it located in the back of the Chevron gas station, might I say this is one of the cleanest gas station/burrito spots I have ever been to! They have a selection of options to choose from burritos, bowls, tacos and even nachos. The selection of toppings and fillings is limited but I prefer my burrito places that way so they can focus more on the quality of their ingredients rather than the quantity. Overall the burrito was good but it was not the best burrito I had, if there is one thing I can highly recommend to Casa de Burrito it is to try out new recipes with their Spanish rice. As a Spaniard descendant I have had far way better rice and think that Casa de Burrito can definitely make the quick change to a better recipe. All burritos are priced the same at $7.95 Slightly high for a burrito but I don't mind paying that for a classy place like Casa de Fruta. read more

We had two burritos from Casa De Burrito...and I wouldn't recommend them. It wasn't absolutely terrible but I wouldn't choose them. The cheese was still super cold and not melted at all. You couldn't taste the lime or chipotle. It could have been good but the fact that the burrito was super cold ruined everything. read more
