Pacheco Pass Farmer's Market is a great stop in Gilroy! We loved looking at all the fun things around the market and had a hoot trying the vanilla and chocolate garlic ice cream. Of course it's not my #1 choice in flavored ice cream, but well worth the try at least once! Don was superb, having us guess songs for a free honey sucker stick, which made the time there even more fun. Good stopping point in Gilroy area for garlic ice cream and local produce. This time of the year - corn was very reasonably priced, other times of year it's likely other produce. Rest of the produce is slightly higher priced than grocery stores - but it's very fresh and super tasty probably because it never had to hit a cold storage. Restrooms are very clean and owners are very pleasant to speak with. read more

Stopped here after the Renaissance Faire to try the garlic ice cream. It's a cute little shop with a lot of local products. It's pretty affordable like most farm stands. The employee was extremely helpful and friendly. Prices were nice and affordable compared to the fair. Drinks are very affordable and lots of frozen treats to cool down after being in the sun all day. I would say it's a nice pit stop if you're just traveling along the highway here too, and there's a restroom. read more

This place is amazing!! The gentleman who helped us for super friendly. Even told us how people in the east coast eat pies.... With cheese to each its own. After seeing so many signs on the 152, I finally made a pit stop at possibly one of the last areas to pick up fresh produce. I liked how it wasn't a tiny stand and had a real parking lot. Grabbed oranges (5 lbs for a $1!), asparagus bunches for a $1 and hot sauce on sale. The oranges were pretty good, not as juicy as I would've liked. The asparagus was sooo good and wish I got more! Though my drives this way are rare, I will definitely stop by again if I drive past in the future! read more

This is a very good fruit stand. It has a very organized operation for visitors. This includes portal potties and hand cleaning stations. Several murals for pictures with the family. To top it off, the fruits here are tasty and exotic. We really enjoyed our visit here and took home with us some very nice Bing cherries. You'll find many produce stands on hwy 152 but Pacheco's is the only one (IMO) with the freshest, well organized, and, best selection of seasonal and non-typical produce (as of this review 9/21 they had dinosaur plums, donut peaches, kiwi cherries & more). They sell a little bit of everything here: seasonings, pickled veggie sorts, pasta sauces, jams, salsas, nuts, jerky, popcorn, chips, dried fruit, etc. This stand is my go to when traveling back to LA from the Bay area. There's ample parking, Porta Potties, a wash sink, & cut out picture ops available. Its a good pit stop to stretch your legs, buy some snacks n' Sh*t & take some pics. Don't find yourself buying too much, remember it's fresh produce. So if you don't store it right on your drive home, or eat ASAP, it'll go bad. read more

It's hard not to love this place, they have an amazing selection of fresh produce and locally sourced snacks for cheaper than many others in the area. This is one place that I always try to stop at when I am passing through, as they carry my favorite spicy pistachios, garlic ice cream and some of the most tender jerky options around. When I first stopped here it was to obtain some of the highly coveted cotton candy grapes, but sadly they had sold out for the day, but no matter because I was able to get my hands on a Pink Glow pineapple, which is more flavorful and tangy than other varieties. read more

After years of driving past this place, we finally decide to stop. This place is adorable and well stocked! I especially like the wall of hot sauces. There is also a shelf showcasing the town's local favorites! If I remember correctly, make sure you carry cash. Items range from very cheap to a little pricy. The most expensive goods are things like a large tub of honey comb drenched in honey. I bought a bag of avocados for less than 3 bucks, I can't be mad at that. I will say though, the best and worst thing I bought here was thier garlic ice cream. I had been wanting to try this for years. You can buy a small cup of this for roughly 3.99 in vanilla or chocolate. I bought vanilla. So, this has a REALLY good ice cream base. Sweet with that heavy cream taste I personally crave. But then, it's like you've bitten into raw garlic, the flavor gets very intense. We had to roll the windows down, the garlic smell was so strong. My friends tried it and were horrified. One of them was getting flashbacks of when his roommate spilled garlic sauce all over this freezer. Making everything taste of garlic from then on. The others simply made faces. NO ONE had gum and everything smelled of garlic. We had to choose between rolling the windows down and being cold, or living in garlic. I kept eating it because I've been raised on garlic and paid roughly 3.99 for the cup. I'm no quiter. Overall, I like this place. It supplied my friend's and I with a hilarious experience i will look back on fondly. Next time, I may buy the chocolate flavor... and a pack of gum. read more

Every time we head up to the Bay Area from SoCal, we've wanted to pass by Gilroy to pick up a garlic ice cream. We finally did that this time, and stopped at the Pacheco Pass Farmers Market. There is a creamy delicious garlicky ice cream (a tiny cup size) for $2.99. I think the price went up! There are 2 flavors, either vanilla or chocolate and we got the vanilla to share. Outside of just ice cream, they sell a slew of organic (?) fruits and vegetables. We bought some fruits, cherries / oranges / and onions, etc. Very affordable prices, too! Wow there are so many goodies to be found here! My husband I stopped here on our way to Disneyland. We spent around $40 here. We ended up getting grapes, taffy, almonds, peanuts, some trail mix, and other snacks for our road trip. There are many food stands along this area in Gilroy. We stopped at this one in particular because there was lots of easy access parking outside as well as some shady picnic tables where we could stop to eat at. You can get a lot of goodies for not a lot of money. We saw lots of fruits and veggies for really low prices. I wish we could have stocked up more, but we didn't want any of the produce to go bad while we were on our road trip. A must stop for any CA road trip! read more

Some fantastic deals here, and before you start saying that these avocados are much smaller than the mutant ones you get from Safeway, consider that they are locally grown and they are much tastier than most of the larger hass avocados I've had.
