I'm reviewing the garlic ice cream only. Very well done and definitely has the spiciness of raw garlic but in a quality creamy ice cream. $4 for 3.5 oz, recommend you try it once. Like many of the other reviews, this place is a tourist trap. With all the signs leading up to it (i.e. $1 for 15 avocados, etc), we stopped only to find out that was not really the case. You would have to buy another item, then to get the deal, and we were told that we could buy any item for $5, and receive the $1 for 15 avocados. We bought a pack of dried mangos (originally priced at $9) thinking we would be charged $6ish, but were somehow charged $15. The math didn't math .. read more

Stopped here on way back to L.A. from San Jose. My BF wanted to try Garlic Ice Cream so we stopped and spent $16. I got the ice cream, a bag of jalapeno pistachios, strawberries from the discount table for $1 and 8 avocados for $1 since I spent over $10. Very cute little stand. When I realized we were in Gilroy I HAD to get something garlicky. However we didn't want to get home to LA too late so I was lucky this produce stand was right by the gas station my husband stopped at. I came out with a 5 oz container of vanilla garlic ice cream, 3 jumbo sized cloves of garlic and a jar of chopped garlic for just under $10. Garlic craving satisfied! The ice cream is definitely garlicky! You can certainly smell and taste it but it's fun to try. read more

If you're passing through Gilroy, this is a stand you may wanna check out. Its located next door to a Shell and right before you hit Pacheco Pass. Its a small spot, but has a good variety of fresh produce. There are also unique snacks, marinades, jellies/jams and even Garlic ice cream in vanilla & chocolate flavor. There seems to always be a good price for the small avocados (4/$1) and corn that they advertise on the outside of the stand; however, the other prices inside the stand seem to be average or overpriced so I would just focus on what they're advertising on the outside. Still, a great spot to stop by and run in when you're on a road trip and need some healthy snacks. read more

We were in this part of Gilroy today because we needed to go to Leslie's Pool Supplies and decided that since we were there we would get fruit for our dinner and breakfast rather than going to Kachy Produce (where we normally go) because we were running behind on our schedule. It was convenient but the prices were awful. The peaches were 2.99 a pound whereas at Kachy I get them for 99 cents a pound. The strawberries were also 4 dollars more for the half flat than at Kachy. EVERYTHING was way inflated and this is clearly a tourist trap. I ended up paying about 30.00 for just strawberries and nectarines (7 nectarines and about 8 pints worth of strawberries). I could have gotten this for about a third of this price at Kachy. Furthermore, when I got to the checkout the lady rang me up for nearly forty dollars until I asked her if she was kidding me and then she said "Oh, I accidentally double charged you for the strawberries." As much as I would like to think it was an innocent mistake my intuition made me feel otherwise and if I had not been pressed for time I would NOT have spent this kind of money on produce knowing that I could get it much cheaper. If you are not pressed for time go to Kachy or even LJB Farms but not this place!!! read more

Stopped by on the way to LA. Mostly for a bathroom break, but did purchase fruits, unfortunately. Their fruits aren't fresh. Most of them had bruising, there were fruit flies all over, the place had a weird smell. Also, the 2 older women that were there (I'm assuming that they are the owners) were extremely rude. I followed the woman towards the back looking for the restroom, she snapped and asked me where I was going. I told her to the restroom. She then rudely said, "The restroom isn't back here, it's around the corner. You shouldn't be back here." Mind you, I didn't even step one foot in the back area, I walked towards there looking around. I said, "Okay, geez excuse me!" Would it KILL you to be nice to a customer?! She must have been going through menopause :\ On a positive note, the lady that rung us up was very nice. Bless her for having to put up with them. I wouldn't stop here again. I saw lots of cleaner ones, we just have to plan better next time and avoid this place. read more

Stopped here while passing through Gilroy! Such a great spot! There is a large variety of fruits and vegetables and the strawberries are not only beautiful, but delicious too! The corn looked great and it's so cheap! Can't wait to get home and try it! They also have a ton of unique snacks that you can't buy at a regular market. Garlic ice cream, garlic marinades, and my favorite snap pea crisps! Definitely a great place to stop and pick up some fresh produce! So glad I happened upon this place! I came here Valentines Day 2014 weekend on my way to LA. Stopped here because we wanted some fruit. We bought some avacado's (4 for $1), blood oranges, and some cara cara's. The oranges were well past their ripe state, but looked fine when we bought them. We ate them on the way down to LA, but unfortunately the blood oranges tasted funny, and the cara cara's were partly dried up inside. The garlic braids and bags of garlic are super expensive. Isn't this the land where garlic sprouts from and therefore be a tad less than what I would pay at my local grocer?! I wanted to buy some, thinking I would be getting garlic from the source, but glad I passed based on my experiences with the fruit. The avacado's were fine. The prices are also really high. Sad to say, but I would pass on this fruit stand unless they stop stocking rotting fruit. Parking is plentiful as it's part of the Shell Gas station. read more

On my way to Los Banos, we stopped to get gas at the Shell station off the 10th Street exit in Gilroy. I was so shocked to find this incredible little farmers market attached to the station. Driving down Pacheco Pass, there are a ton of fruit stands, but none like this and Pacheco Pass is much safer to pull over to. They had some of the most beautiful fruits and vegetables and a unique assortment of other foods like nuts, dips candies etc. besides picking up some fruit to snack on, (strawberries were so good) we walked out with some Garlic Ice cream! I had to try it and it was actually pretty tasty! If you like garlic, this place has it all and more! Quality produce and great prices! Greeted with a friendly hello. Great location right off the 152 pacheco pass stopped on your way to target only to find the neatest produce spot. They had great deals 5 for $1.00 corn, 4 for $1.00 avocados and the sweetest cherries. The fruit was fairly priced lots of neat pepper jelly jams had to try the mango pepper jelly.
