A few days ago we visited to relax and have a cigar, we ended up having 2 and staying well over 2 hours due to the ambiance. The staff here are incredible and treat everyone like family. By far one of the best cigar lounges I've ever been to in that regard. The alcohol is B.Y.O.B. But there's a liquor store nearby so that's not too big of a deal. During a ladies day trip to New York we visited here the Friday before the new year, we enjoyed everything about the experience. The humidor has something for every cigar budget, preference, and 'taste'. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The lounge has a relaxed old school lounge vibe to it, ample comfortable seating, clean, with several conversational spaces. Love this friendly cigar shop in the Turtle Bay area. Rob was very welcoming during both of our visits. They have a well stocked humidor with an impressive selection of sticks and many smoking areas with comfy chairs. I've been coming here since the Cigar Inn days. I've been here about a dozen time & I've never had a bad experience. My first thoughts of this establishment is the humidor. Plenty of cigars to choose from at a reasonable prices. There's plenty of room. Chairs, stools & couches to relax & watch some sports on the multiple TVs they have. They allow BYOB to pair with your cigars & menus to order food if you'd like. I've never really had much interactions with the staff aside from paying for my cigars. I love to stop in Casa de Montecristo. Oscar Wilde quipped the only means to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. I bet I am not the only one who is nostalgic about tobacco smoke. I mean from cigars and pipes, not cigarettes. So many of us associate it with a relative. It triggers memories, including of pleasurable occasions when I have relaxed while puffing away. I acknowledge the risks. I indulge rarely. I figure given the stress reduction, it is a worthwhile trade off. If you object, don't come into this place. The selection here is sizable. The prices are reasonable. The other feature to highlight is they are hospitable. But they are not snooty. You can sit in a comfortable chair and just think. I'm not big on clubs. The feel here is different. It is guys, and gals, who share an interest. You could strike up conversation about the sports on television. But it is generally to each their own. I sometimes am accompanied by a colleague. Even then, however, we are enjoying our own private reverie. I value such moments. If any of what I have described appeals, perhaps you'll step away from the busy life you have outside and whatever is happening on the street. read more

The Tobaccanist behind the counter was exceptional in many ways. He immediately took care of me and helped pickup a cigar. However, I did not realize the cigar I wanted was generally a much rated vitola in comparison to it's cigar of the year brother. This is something he should have picked up on when I stated, I love one vitola and was curious if the other was just as good. The experience was the cigar that evening was fine, but not stellar. I was never asked once, by the gal, running around the shop if I wanted a drink. She only came around once while cleaning out an ashtray - which was really for someone else. When I asked about an ashtray for myself, where I was sitting, she pointed to the one she gave the other gentlemen which wasnt really next to me and arguably where someone else could sit. In the middle of the sofa. Instead of placing one to my right. This is the opposite to attention to derail you get at the other location deeper in to the Upper East Side. Their cigar selection is excellent, it is hard to lack a cigar you want in this store. My needs are not the norm so as long as they have any of the number of cigars I'm after I'm happy. The boutique cigars I usually want are harder to find. Like MBombay, Tatuaje, RomaCraft, etc.. which I get elsewhere. This is a luxury. None of this is necessary. But price is still important. Especially, when I can get the same items from their competition. Their prices are all over the place. The vitola I smoked was 2x more expensive here than in other locations around the city. Which is only fair to compare within the city as taxes on tobacco vary by state. Online, of course, is always going to be significantly better in price. So coming here should be about service, selection. The immediate satisfaction of smoking what you want now. And of course the ability to mingle with people in the lounge. This lounge is nice and comfortable. Technically, a bit too sunken in. I'm not the cross your legs type of guy and the sofas and chair sunk in to point that was awkward to sit in bit I went with it. My real critique is the ventilation and air filtration. I think it has not been cleaned. Contrary to popular belief people who enjoy cigars, do not enjoy the smoke. Once you've puffed your cigar and blown the smoke out - you want that smoke gone. I couldn't find where the ventilation and filtration current was. If there was one. So my smoke, and the smoke of my neighbors, lingered in our faces. That stings your eyes, make you smell bad, and ruins the experience. So this place needs to check their filters and air flow. It's a good place to come and smoke, my review sounds harsher than it was but with a few tweaks this location will be 5 stars across the board, consistently. read more

On this visit it's unfortunate I can only provide one star upon walking to the humidor I found a lit cigar just laying there confusing the humidor with its smoke. One of the sales people came in and I subsequently point it out that it was there he looked at me and said yes I know it's mine. Has anyone who smokes cigars knows there should be no lit cigars in the humidor itself as it can impart flavor on the inventory. Then when I got to the counter the gentleman standing there was quite rude rung me up didn't ask for anything cut didn't even ask if I wanted a receipt simply rung me up and throughout my receipt. I would recommend their house blend, their very own Cigar Inn cigar. A hefty smoke, perhaps 52 x 6, $8. A Nicaraguan with DR filler. Super dark and shiny wrapper. It smokes very mellow, creamy and nutty. No pepper, no burn, no young tabac. For $8, this cigar stands up to the Padron and Fuentes. If you like full body, and flavor over power, this is the perfect one. Chewy and satisfying smoke. Good draw, but a little too wet. Mine had a split about 1/3 into it. Really like this place. It just changed owners so this is a review for mostly the old owners and one visit since the new owners took over. I live right down the street and visit cigar inn about once a month. They have a great selection of cigars and the employees are always very willing and helpful when it comes to recommendations. You can bring your own drinks, including booze which is a HUGE plus. Just bring a six pack or a bottle of wine or whiskey from ambassador spirits which is right next door. They have glasses and ice that they will bring you for the small cost of a tip at the end. It has a great decor and about 5 TVs. Great place to watch a game or a fight. But they need some upgrades on the furniture. Their couches and stools are getting pretty worn and funky. They used to always have DJs and whatnot on weekends but apparently since the new owners took over they have gotten rid of that clubby atmosphere at night. Which i can't say I'm mad about. Overall good prices. Cigars avg about $7-18 a piece. Which isn't bad. Check the place out. Its worth a visit if you like smokin the occasional stogie. read more

At first I was very very interested because of the crowd and tv's showing sports until a black man in the back area started having a conversation with a white man about "Pussy" very loudly and it was like I was at a lounge in some grimy area where people show no respect. Stayed in NY for my bday week. Hubby wanted to check this place out as he's a cigar lounge connoisseur. Cool points: hubby said it was BYOB not sure if there was a fee though because we didn't find out until we got there. Don't have to be a member to go there and hang out/smoke a cigar. NOT so cool points: $10 fee to bring your own cigar & smoke it there so hubby just purchased a $15 cigar there to smoke. He chose the usual fave cigar he likes. He cut it and the cigar started to unwrap. I told him to return it for another & he decided not to make a fuss. He smokes it and says it's stale. Before this, the girl working took his drink order at the register while I was sitting at our chosen area...she came over with his pelligrino and completely ignored me. Didn't ask if I wanted anything. Hubby also says they only have water and pelligrino. I didn't feel like it was female friendly seeing as I was the only female there and wasn't asked if I wanted anything yet every male that walked in, including my hubby was tended to.
