We met the new owner and she's planning to change the name and aesthetic back to a more appropriate local appalachian theme and replace all the ACs. The driveway is steep and for a second it looks like you are on a private driveway to ha home but it's fine. Nearby Saluda has an excellent bakery/ coffee place called Wakey Monkey. There is a zip line outfit next door.

They have an on line reservation system but I'd prefer a standard check in process just because my phone coverage wasn't that great at the rest stop--that's really the only reason for dropping a star. I did speak to a very nice lady who took my information via phone but I still had to fill in a on line form and send a copy of my drivers license once I got off the phone. Got all the information sent in and back--text indicated I was in cabin 27 and had the code for the door. No problem at all getting into the cabin. Cabin was spotless and the queen bed was very comfortable. The cabin had a small fridge and freezer compartment (so I was able to refreeze my cooler blue ice pack and cool down additional sodas for the next day of traveling) and a nice work desk. The bathroom had plenty of nice towels (lots more than I would use--my wife would have LOVED it). WiFi worked great and I had a much-needed break from the road. I would have liked to have information on some of the trails nearby because I would definitely consider coming back to this area. I would definitely stay here again as long as I was traveling without my dogs. I FaceTimed my wife and she really loved the place--she and her sister may come and stay here depending on what trails and other places are in the vicinity. An added bonus (for me) was that the exit from the highway had a Waffle House so I had a place to get breakfast before getting back on the highway.

There's a huge cleaning fee but there were ants all in the kitchen that destroyed bunch of bread we had on the counter, swarming it within hours. They had traps over the counters so it was known by owner. Lots of bugs in general inside but it is a pretty old house. Lights also blast in through windows that have sheer window treatments. I think if it were a little cleaner and had some black out curtains I would give it 5/5 stars for sure.

The location is great, not far from downtown Hendersonville. The cottages are well maintained and comfortable. We used the kitchen to cook and found that it sufficed for our needs. We really loved the screened in private porch with rocking chairs and a breakfast sized table with two chairs; it was perfect for enjoying the evenings and relaxing. The courtyard in the middle with grills and tables is so pretty and convenient. It seems like mostly Florida retirees come here, so it was quiet and laid back. Perfect for our needs. We would definitely return. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that the bed wasn't great, the mattress needs to be replaced as it bowed inward a bit. Other than that, though, we had no complaints and really enjoyed our time here.

Her wedding was already booked for another venue but this would have been the PERFECT place! The house has 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, over 5,000sqft plenty of space for the family. The outdoor areas were well arranged and beautiful. A large seating area with an umbrella, outdoor grill with patio table and chairs, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, sturdy seating by the creek that runs along beside the property and another set of chairs by the creek. The seating groups were spaced out for the family to chat or for a little private time. The interior design is beautiful and well thought out. (Can you come decorate my house? The property…read moreis a work in progress and a labor of love by a young family who have really put their heart and soul into it. 6 of us stayed at the home they call "the chalet" and we had plenty of space. There are a few other homes on the property too. The spot is nestled in to its 26 acres with plenty of trails in the woods. We cooked our meals in the well equipped kitchen, burned logs in the large stone fireplace, and wandered the trails. One evening the proprietors came over and set up the most amazing bonfire and s'mores feast I have ever seen!! We will be returning to Alpine South for sure.

The owners are very nice and we got to explore the property and the trails and do the zip line. They have goats horses And donkeys that were all friendly. The owner, Gabe went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. I am not really a camping person so he would send me info on how to do thinks including on how to get the gas heater working. The Glaming (tent) was the only thing available since I booked the night before. I will definitely be back with more family and stay at any of the places offered here. Only suggestion is to consider some music on the bus ride if the driver isn't chatty by nature. It was an awkward silence on the bus ride. No complaints, but would set a fun and recreational tone if there were some good tunes. Will definitely be back with the kids. Note, they have a 'pink bottom' tube you can request that is good for little kids who may be too small and fall through a normal tube. Great to know!

They run this place like a family.. They truly care about you and do whatever they can to help you out.. The management is top notch as well..I live here year round and i can tell you They are on top of it.. trash it's picked up weekly and a new bag put in your trash can.. The grass is mowed quite often and it's always in Good shape.. Beautiful scenery.. Good neighbor that look out for one another.. Decent lot rent.. Great owners.. Great management.. Yeah i love it and will be here till i die.. I'm not going anywhere..I am home..
