This lovely property on the water combines both a warm feel of a lodge with a sleek and comfortable design of 5 star hotel. The staff on board are friendly and unbelievably helpful. The restaurant on site is absolutely delicious; this met with a lake front view made the atmosphere vibrant in early August. Definitely recommend coming here! read more

How did I not know about this charming restaurant located within a bed and breakfast nestled in the mountains on Lake Lure?! I probably shouldn't write this review as it is a well kept secret (at least from me). My brother recommended The Lodge to us, and we are so glad he did. The Lodge has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains, and a gorgeous patio. We arrived early (before dining room opened), and enjoyed wine while waiting for our table. We sat at a cozy corner table. Our waiter, Tyler, was outstanding. He truly made the experience. He saw our name on the reservation and connected us to my brother! He remembered my brother and his wife well which I think is awesome. He made excellent recommendations and was very attentive, even with a dining room full! On to the food...wow, wow, wow. We did the three course special which is definitely the way to go. Everything was absolutely delicious though I would not recommend the pork chops or the parfait. The pork chops weren't bad but nowhere near as delicious as the other options. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and it practically melted in my mouth. The scallops and steak were also melt in your mouth style. The sides were perfectly matched. The best dessert in our opinion as recommended by Tyler was the Blueberry Crumble. If you are at Lake Lure, make a reservation and prepare for a dining experience! Ask for Tyler, and your evening will be complete! read more

Amazing lodge with scenic view of Lake Lure. The staff is absolutely best in class, everyone is super friendly and accommodating to your every need, you feel like you're staying with friends. There is a continental breakfast for guests, and the restaurant offers dinner nightly. The bar is a great spot to hang out for a drink and we enjoyed the concoctions that Portia mixed up. 'Miss Amanda' is a great innkeeper. The rooms were well appointed with beautiful views. Will be back! read more

Spent two nights here for my birthday. The reality turned out even better than online pictures. Excellent staff, very attentive and helpful, someone spent lots of money getting this place in fantastic shape, no expense spared, top quality everywhere. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the lake, the bathroom was immaculate, large, footed tub and separate shower, great towels. Excellent bed and linens, ceiling fan and efficient heat/air system, much better accommodations than most hotels, certainly more unique and 'homey.' The restaurant is at least the equal of the best restaurants in Charlotte or Asheville (and we have been to most of them), the short ribs I had and the steak frites Deb had were excellent, but the mushroom soup deserves an award it was so good. Our table overlooked the lake as the sun went down, a wonderful atmosphere for fine dining. A great getaway, we will be back soon!! read more

My wife surprised me with a weekend here for my birthday. The lodge directly overlooks the lake and has opportunities to enjoy the view and the atmosphere with multiple decks and spots to sit. We sat at a table and enjoyed the afternoon over a game of Scrabble. We also spent another afternoon on another deck, just outside of the bar/restaurant, playing dominoes and chatting with other guests. Very enjoyable self-directed "happy hour"! The barkeep was friendly and efficient. She kept everyone happily supplied with their choice of drink throughout the multiple visits to the bar (afternoon as well as after dinner outings for dessert). The room was clean, spacious and had all of the expected amenities (tv, wifi, efficient heating/cooling, excellent bed and bedding, great towels). A bonus was a screen door to allow the fresh air and evening sounds into the room! Staff was friendly and efficient, both hotel and restaurant. Looking forward to future stays to experience different seasons in this beautiful corner of North Carolina! read more

the perfect upscale, yet homey atmosphere a hotel in this tiny lake town could be. everyone was more than accommodating, and it felt as if we could stay there for weeks. the most outstanding views, the most delicious food at the appalachia restaurant, and the nicest people by far. sharing this review makes me a little sad because i want to gatekeep this place so bad, but good things are to be shared with the world. will 100% be returning. geaux tigers ;) read more

Fine dining on Lake Lure (Tree Tops Restaurant at The Lodge) We were doing our "shotgun wedding" and needed a restaurant. We'd looked at the 1927 Inn which is a fabulous backdrop but after seeing Tree Tops menu online we decided to pay a visit. We were impressed by their dedication to high end dining and local, seasonal fare. With only five days lead time (hey, I told you it was a shotgun wedding) they pulled off a fabulous, multi-course banquet for twenty guests. First off the dining room view of the lake is amazing.. like a picture postcard. The various courses were beautifully plated. Some guests mentioned the filet mignon was the best they'd ever had. The blueberry crumble desert was also a huge hit. Service was impeccable. I would highly recommend both restaurant and hotel for a romantic getaway or also a small event (although you may want to plan further in advance than five days!). We were allowed to see some of the other rooms and they are every bit as beautiful as on their website with balconies overlooking the lake. Again, props to the staff for pulling off a wonderful event for us and can't recommend them enough. read more

Beautiful views, charming lodge, painfully slow restaurant service. We had dinner reservations for 7pm. We were given a nice table by the big windows overlooking the lake and mountains. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. They were out of both wines that we wanted to order so we made other selections that ended up being poor quality. They need to work on their wine list. The drinks did not come out to the table for another 15 minutes. Bread came to the table around 7:45. Our entrees were delivered well over an hour after we were seated. Water glasses were not refilled until after we finished eating. The people at the table next to us left about 10 minutes after we arrived. Someone came and dropped a filthy rag and cleaning spray on the table but then walked away leaving the cleaning products and dirty dishes on the table for the entirety of our stay. When the bill arrived there was an extra meal charged so we had to wait to have that sorted out. The food was good, the views were great, but it was not the best experience. read more

Came here for our 9th anniversary and had an amazing time. The staff was great and took such good care of us. They have a mingle hour with free, tasty wine. The views are breathtaking. Inclusive paddleboards just topped it off. Also the food was really top notch, one of the best bisque's I've had. Our room was a little out-dated but the rest of the experience with the staff and view more than made up for that. We will be coming back again. read more

This place is the worst!!! Do not go!!! We went to the buffet on Sunday, gross. $30 for nothing at all and then they charged us 20% tip for just getting us water!! Their statement... An absolutely exquisite place to feel like you are in a fairytale because you are surrounded by beauty with the lake, the lodge rooms, the deck overlooking the lake, the lobby with a huge fireplace, private room balcony. We had the best time. Service was so great and very personal. I felt catered to the entire time. The dinner was beyond phenomenal and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Great B&B, right on the lake. We stayed here for 4 nights, the location on the lake is great and all the employees are very nice. There was some construction going on that made it a little challenging to get to the lake and also a little noisy at times but the lodge did give us a discount to help ease the inconvenience. Hopefully the construction will be done and next year we can go back and enjoy all the outdoor renovations. read more

My husband and I got married at Lodge on Lake Lure on 10/18/2016 and the staff and managers went above and beyond to make our day special. We had a small wedding of 12 people (so really small) and they still made us their priority. The chef Shauna cooked an amazing dinner and breakfast and made sure everything was how we wanted. The rooms were amazing with large sizes and gorgeous decor. Not to mention the view!!! Perfect spot to see the lake and mountains. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a getaway. read more

Location and rooms were excellent, but everything about the staff and service was painfully slow or lacking. When we came to check in we had to track someone down to help us; this was a trend since it seemed like any time we needed something at the front desk, we had to search for staff. Staff were terrible at replenishing amenities in the common area like coffee, tea bag selection, mugs, cream, sugar, and hot water. Similarly, amenities at the boat house were not maintained even though complimentary kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards were provided; there were never towels where staff said there should be. Restaurant service was TERRIBLE. It was slow (we waited 30 minutes for water) and for the price point, the food presentation was way off! No one was particularly friendly to us as guests and I left feeling disappointed and as though it wasn't worth the money. Really, the only thing they have going for them is location. We were led to understand by locals that the facility has recently come under new management who restarted with a skeleton staff. This could be a large part of the problem, but I can tell you we won't be giving them the benefit of the doubt on a return visit. It was a shame, but at least it was a gorgeous view! read more

OMG! OMG! OMG! I think this may be the best meal I've ever had. The chorizo rotolo was definitely in the top 3 bites of food I've ever had. The shrimp was enormous and the sauce was delicious. The steak was incredible and the potatoes were seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY! The wine was great. The desert was TO DIE FOR (Black Forest cheese cake and some raspberry concoction that was oh so good. The service was spot on. The view of Lake Lure was amazeballs. All this for $65 for two (plus drinks, tax and tip). Be aware, this review was written after 2 glasses of wine and having been away from my kids for half a day. Bottom line, this place is far better than anything else you will find in Lake Lure - we've been to a lot of the local restaurants and none even come close. read more

We stayed at the lodge short time ago. The place had men on the roof banging all day. The lodge is old and not maintained. Some of the staff is fine. The inn keeper is new since last time we were there. The lodge was dirty and the house keeper was cooking our breakfast !. The kitchen looked very dirty, There was dust hanging from the lights, and clutter all over. It was my understanding that the lodge was bought by The Equestrian Center. But was told by one of the staff, they will not fix it up until after the big games in 2018, The price of the rooms are outrageous for the area. The hot tub was closed also the boat house I was told was unsafe to walk on as it was falling into the lake. I would not recommend anyone to stay there. !! read more
