They raised all of their prices and still had old prices on the menu. Everything we ordered was approximately $2 more for each item. When I asked about it I was told sorry everything went up and they offered nothing to compensate. My review is DO NOT GO HERE!! My second time ever and I shouldn't have given them a second chance. Normally really enjoy the experience here, but the restaurant is open until 9 supposedly. We stopped in at 8:40 and were told that the kitchen is closed. They don't have much of a bar to speak of, so I don't understand why the hours aren't adjusted to say 8:30 or whatever time they want. A little frustrating. read more

Fun restaurant with tasty food. We were seated right away and just before the dinner rush. When we left, all tables were full. Our server was very attentive and got our drink and food orders quickly in. All orders were correct. They refilled waters and took secondary drink orders. All good with the service. Food was also very good. I had the chipotle chicken which was juicy and with a bit of spice. I liked the fresh chopped poblanos mixed in the sauce. The gf had chicken chimichangas and enjoyed them (not too spicy for her). For a drink I had the standard margarita on the rocks. Very good and a nice amount of tequila. Salsa is ok, but not one of my favorites compared to other Mexican restaurants I've had. Price is average for a Mexican restraunt. Place was clean and busy. I wish my dish had more flavor though. Usually Mexican dishes or loaded with flavor-which I love. I ordered the Chipotle chicken.. not much flavor but it was hot and fresh! I didn't think it was spicy at all-but it was advertised as being spicy. Not much chipotle sauce or cheese on it.. again not much flavor compared to other Mexican restaurants that I've ate at. read more

Recommend eating here for Mexican food! Such a fun place! The staff is very attentive and we are always thanked for eating here every time we dine here. Every once in a while we have to wait to be seated but it's never very long; only a few minutes. The food is made fresh here. I recommend the guacamole. It's very good. The drinks and food usually come out of the bar and kitchen quickly. All food is seasoned well. I also recommend that you order and eat a piece of their tres leches cake. Even if you need to get it to go, you will want a slice of cake. read more

Good food all around. Nothing AWESOME though. What you would expect from a GOOD Mexican restaurant. Wanna give it the real street test? Get a few of the regular crunchy beef tacos. Then, get some pico de gallo on the side. When the tacos and the pico show up to your table, put the pico on top of your tacos where tomatoes would typically be on your taco. Our waitress spoke very little English. I asked for jalapeños on the side this guy comes bringing me a plate of chard boiled jalapeños with sour cream it was sorta cute but ummm no! Just looking around it was colorful why when I look down at the floor it was covered with food!!! I wanted to leave but we had placed our order and my friend was halfway through her drink...I noticed someone was looking at me look at the carpeted food covered floor and some next thing I know a kid under 10 came over and started sweeping the floor... the pink lemonade is pinking no flavor just pink water my friend had the mango margarita, she said "it gave her life" I tried the spinach dip it shoulda been called spinach soup it was too watery to be a dip!! The food was a little less seasoned than I'm used to in a Mexican restaurant but it was good nonetheless. The portions are huge so bring your appetite. The service was impeccable. The restaurant was clean, if a little run down. Our booth seats were torn so they were a little uncomfortable. The prices were good, especially for the amount of food we received. read more

Immediately walking In, we were greeted and seated by very kind staff. Once seated a waiter greeted us. served us the complimentary chips and salsa and got us our drinks. The chips were hot and the salsa was amazing. Good enough to dine here for just the salsa. After ordering we received our food very quickly. I ordered the Chimichanga's and they were the best Mexican dish I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The wait staff was extremely vigilant and available for anything we needed and checked in on us multiple times. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very authentic. The custom wood seating (made in Mexico) is beautiful accompanying gorgeous hand crafted booths. They had contactless menus and payment available if so desired. I cannot stress enough the impeccable service of this restaurant. We will definitely be dining here again. read more

I went here a few weeks ago and was not impressed. I appreciated the social distancing guidelines followed but the food left much to be desired. I first wanted to try some seafood since I hadn't had it in a while and let me tell you it smelled awful. Like it had been sitting in a lukewarm fridge since the 1800's. It lacked any kind of flavor and was sloppily sautéed with bland pieces of veggies, looked like pico de gallo actually. Let me interject by saying the waiter was a sweetheart and I appreciated that he spoke to me in Spanish like I wanted. The other fish I ordered was a quesadilla that was presented beautifully but the cheese inside it tasted like they got it straight from the cow that very moment. If you like authentic Mexican food, eat here. Their chips, salsa & pico de gallo are impressive. The shrimp cocktail, flautas, carnitas & chicken burrito are delicious! My husband tried the jalapeño toreados & said they were a very spicy & excellent treat but not for the faint hearted. Their food was flavorful but not too salty. Our service was friendly & helpful. The restaurant was clean, nice & cozy inside. There is also outside seating but since it was 30* we couldn't eat there. The person in charge was very knowledgeable & kind. Took over and hour to get our food... waiter was hardly around.... and no body seemed to care or be able to address our concerns. My wife and I ate here recently. We split a fajita dinner. Salsa and chips were very good. Margaritas were good but nothing special. Enjoyed the queso dip. Dinner was a mixed bag. Quantity of rice and beans seemed very small compared to other restaurants. Maybe because it shares the same medium plate as the lettuce with guac dressing. Our shrimp/chicken/beef fajita was good but the chicken and beef were cut into such small slivers that it was overcooked and greasy. Same can be said for vegetables. Not the case for the shrimp which were large and well cooked. Service was excellent and I loved the clean and festive decor. Would eat here again. read more

We recently just moved into Norton and the last month or so we have passed this restaurant and have wanted to try it. Since COVID-19 they are currently only doing carry out so we had nothing planned for dinner tonight and decided to give this restaurant a try. The service was quick despite the numerous cars in the parking lot also there to pick up their orders. The food was delicious to say the least and then they even added in a free small queso dip which who doesn't like free things? Let alone a free thing that involves cheese! It's the little things in life I like to thrive on. Anyway, we had a great experience dining here, untraditionally, and can't wait to go back and actually get to enjoy the inside of the restaurant as well. read more

We had a really great meal here. Margaritas were strong and not too sweet. Salsa was fresh and the chips were still warm. Everyone at our table enjoyed our dishes. I had pollo con crema, which is one of my favorite dishes at Mexican restaurants. The accompanying rice was well-seasoned and the beans were creamy and rich. My dining partners also enjoyed their meals a lot; don't be afraid to order shrimp here because the seafood was high-quality. The owners are currently remodeling their outside patio, and I know that will be a great spot for margaritas and sangrias once it's finally warm enough to sit outside. Over-all, our food was well above average for a typical Mexican restaurant, and we had a great experience here. We are excited about coming back. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday eve with a group of friends. First off, there seems to be some confusion on Yelp about the origins of Casa Del Mar, so I'd like to straighten that out. The recently opened restaurant was started by some of the folks who came out of the Wadsworth Casa Del Rio. Not a bad pedigree. In fact, if you look at the menu most of the items are the same. The staff is just as friendly. And the food is just as good. I started with an excellent margarita, probably 18 ounces for $6.99. Chomped on the chips and salsa (good, but spicy, for those who enjoy a little heat), and added the chili con queso cheese dip for $3.50. Their queso dip is among my favorites, smooth and tasty with a nice rich flavor. For dinner I went ala carte and chose a beef burrito, a couple of cheese enchiladas and rice. Again, the cheese they use in the enchiladas is just too good. The best part about the place is there is NO wait to be seated. Yet. On the way out I suggested they should think about expanding. There was already a large party seated when I arrived and my party of nine took up most of the remaining tables. All that was left were booths. But until then, enjoy. Lived in Albuquerque for several years and fell in love with a dish called Carne Adovada. Most SW restaurants offer it and could give you a list of the best; however we are in NE Ohio. The #35 is as close as I have found. I can't remember the name but it's a pork simmered in Colorado (red chile) and is almost as hot as I like it. Flavorful and a healthy portion. Served with tortillas beans and rice makes this a fantastic and next day lunch. Hint- take anything left over home and mix it up and heat it and it's a fantastic dip!!! Love this place. read more

This place is VERY frustrating. The service is good and the food is quite good, but I do not respect their business practice and I will not return because of it. They print coupons to entice business, but then do not honor them. On our second to last visit, they took the coupon, but didn't apply it to our bill. And on our most recent visit, they took the coupon, but claimed it "wasn't good on Friday's." Um, if the coupon is not valid on Friday's, then state that on the coupon. I reviewed this restaurant almost two years ago, when it was rather new in the area. It was great then, but I mentioned that I was curious if it would stick around. Fast-forward to tonight... First off: the service was very lackluster. It seems like they're trying the group mentality of service but haven't quite figured it out. We waited about 10 minutes before the manager had to come ask for our drink order. The wait for our meal was rather long for burritos; the table next to us got their meal first, even though they arrived later and ordered fajitas (which usually take longer to make). Then...one of the people in our party found a rather large thigh bone in their shredded chicken chimichangas. She had bit down on it and it hurt enough that she thought she had chipped a tooth! Didn't get a pic...wish I would have. Understandably upset, we mention this to the manager. He says that they order the chicken from a third party pre-shredded, which is a pretty poor excuse. You run a restaurant, you are responsible for what you serve. Getting ingredients from a third party does not exempt you from responsibility. Period. No concern for her wellbeing, and no mention of any comping of the meal. However, I believe there's a bigger problem: they do not accept coupons on Fridays and Saturdays, even though this is not mentioned anywhere on the coupon! To me, this is an even bigger disgrace than the chicken bone in the meal (which, I would assume, happens very rarely). They probably get a lot of people in the door because of a coupon, but then refuse to honor it on their busiest nights. In my opinion, this is an immature and unprofessional attempt to attract people to a restaurant and increase profit margins. It appears to me that Casa del Mar should focus more on the customer and less on shady attempts at increasing revenue. What makes this review so hard to write is that the flavor of the food is still pretty good, in comparison to other restaurants in the area. We had high hopes, and we really wanted to like Casa Del Mar. But it looks like Casa Del Mar has fallen to shoddy practices, which undermine any other positive remarks about the restaurant. read more
