I walked out of here having eaten more in one sitting than I'd eaten in days. The food is just that good. Given the small menu, though, you just don't see it coming. It's so small, I had no trouble ordering. That's a first. However, it's pretty well-rounded, with a decent balance of seafood, meat, and veggies, and needless carbs. For my smorgasbord of a dinner, I ordered the Pork Croquettes which I are a shareable menu item; crispy on the outside creamy on the inside. Would I order them again? Probably not as they weren't that amazing, and I don't like eating pork. It's not bad for an appetizer, though. For my main, I got their only main option. Yes, you read that right. But, you know what? They can get away with it. The Piri Piri Chicken is a half-portion of chicken grilled and seasoned to absolute perfection, and comes with a spicy piri piri sauce (blessedly) on the side; trust me, it packs quite a kick, but it is well-worth the drizzle on that chicken, as it isn't overpowering, but adds the right amount of heat to it. If you can't stand spicy foods, you could always go for the version with oregano or lemon and herb. As a side, I would either recommend the African Rice or Batana Fries. The slaw isn't bad, but is a bit too sour for my tastes. For dessert, I had to go for the traditional Arroz Doce (rice pudding), with a dash of cinnamon. It's simple, but unforgettably comforting. Sorbet, ice cream, and other sweet delicacies- as well as dessert wines- also abound. Booze-wise, I wouldn't splurge too much on the cocktails, as they could be better, but if you like your wine, they have an impressive selection of Portuguese wines, known for their sweetness and well-balanced flavours. Book ahead, as they do tend to fill up, even during the week.

This was my first time trying piri piri and it was great! The chicken was well cooked and the spices and sauce paired very well. It's also really beautiful on the inside, with plants everywhere. It gave a very cosy vibe to it and it was just a wonderful place to be in.

The food here is very good especially the chicken and the African rice, the service is fast and the workers are very nice and charismatic the whole, restaurant as a very great ambiance has good music always playing giving the place feel cheerful ambience. As a Portuguese person I loved and reccomend this place

Very good place for grilled Portuguese chicken. The restaurant is simple but nice and service is friendly. Prices are good. I shared some Iberico Pork Croquettes and Bacalhau Fritters which were both good. However, as it should be, the best thing was the Piri-Piri chicken. The seasoning was really good and the cooking was spot one, with the meat remaining perfectly juicy. The African Rice was also really good, not cooked at my like in terms of texture but seasoned really well with many pieces of Chorizo. I had two Vinho Verde which were just ok, and also the Porto at the end good but not exceptional. Their Pastel de Nata are also very good and great for finishing the meal.

Went here for dinner with a friend and loved it! We got a number of the sharing plates and sides to share; it was great getting to try such a variety of dishes because everything was delicious! Our waitress was super helpful with figuring out how much food to order between the two of us and we ended up with the perfect amount, and with a great mix of meat/seafood/veggies. We didn't actually try the piri-piri chicken so I would definitely come back to try that! But honestly you could just throw darts at the menu and order whatever they land on and you would end up with a delicious meal no matter what! Definitely recommend

Very tasty new chicken joint in London. The chicken is a little bit on the smaller side but very good. Tried the lemon and garlic but will be back to try the peri peri one. I also highly recommend the African rice it goes really well with the chicken. For desserts I recommend their pastei de nata, not the best Ive ever eaten but still pretty descent!

i was in town with a coworker on valentine's day so everywhere was packed and overflowing with people. we were lucky to stumble upon this restaurant and they were gracious enough to find us a spot to sit. everything was excellent - the gin and tonic was the best i've ever had in london, the food from the chicken to the meatballs to the cauliflower was all perfectly cooked and spiced. i can't wait for my next trip to come back again!

Fantastic food. Great place to heat before a show. Food was excellent and make sure you get the 1/2 chicken.

It's located in an old wine cellar (the oldest in London) and dimly lit by candles. If you are looking for a spot that matches the dark and moody London aesthetic and offers plenty of history, this place is perfect for you. I was very surprised by the quick wait time. We travelled in August which is their busiest time of year and the most we had to wait for a table was maybe 10 minutes. This place seems to be a true hidden gem and more popular among locals than tourists. The cheese boards are delicious and just as unique as the place itself. They have plenty of flavors to choose from and have several different options depending on your budget. We went with the two cheese board and everything included paired perfectly with the wine. The staff was great at giving us recommendations and even let us sample several flavors before committing. We loved this place so much we decided to come back our last day for round two. If you are travelling to London, I highly recommend adding this wine bar to your list of places to eat or drink in the city.

Really cool atmosphere with a low cave ceiling, comprehensive wine list and lots of cheese, charcuterie and some other British favorites. We began with wine, rose bubbles and a glass of champagne- unfortunately my champagne was room temperature which is a per peeve of mine but the rose bubbles were served ice cold in a cold glass?! My husband did enjoy his wine! We were asked about food but they never came back so we decided to enjoy our drinks and the unique atmosphere before heading out
