For starters, the service was great, Rosario was sweet and attentive. If you enjoy spice ask for the green salsa to go with your chips, it is delicious. This place was so cute inside. Looked cleaned, smelled of yummy food. Our wait staff was funny. He worked hard. Was always there when needed. Very nice man. Gave my husband a free bday dessert, which he had a hard time sharing because it tasted so good. Got the street tacos. They were gooooood. I don't think we had any leftovers. Staying in the Dalles for the night, on our way home from Idaho to Washington. Decided to try this place for dinner since it's relatively close to our hotel. Service was prompt and very friendly staff. My enchiladas rancheras is highly recommended. I ordered chicken and ground beef. I decided to try this restaurant since the reviews were pretty decent and it was very close to the hotel I was staying at. And unfortunately, I don't think I will be coming back to this restaurant. The best thing about this place was the guacamole, and even that could have used some salt or an extra squeeze of lime. I got the enchiladas colaradas and the Mexican rice was absolutely flavorless. The enchiladas themselves were too soggy and the corn tortillas just feel apart like mush. The steak inside was just... fine. I was a solo diner coming to the Dalles area for a work trip. I would say after 15 minutes after getting my food the waiter asked me if I wanted a to go box. I said I was still working on it, and he kept coming back every 3 minutes asking the same question because I was eating slowly and reading on my phone. I did not feel welcome and ended just leaving along with half my plate untouched. Total time in the restaurant, less than 40 minutes. At least the food was cooked fast read more

There were 7 of us tonite on a Saturday eve. 3 boys and 4 adults. They sat us in the back of a room (thank goodness) hehe. The kids had been kite surfing today and were hungry!! Hubby and I shared chicken n shrimp fajitas and margaritas. ( no pitchers here , bummer) everyone else had steak, burittos etc. The chips and salsa were good but the little tiny salsa bowls are for one person only. He gave us two chip bowls and two salsas. Ya.... Not enuf for starving kiddos lol. So they did accommodate us by bringing several more haha. Everything was great and we all had a good time with the waiter (Luis)! read more

We had been driving all day and had finally arrived in The Dalles, booked a room and wanted some Mexican food for dinner. Casa El Mirador was well rated so we went there. The tequila and margarita menu was awesome and we ordered drinks with guacamole and pico de gillo to go with our chips. So far the service is friendly and the decor is pleasing. Although the music was too loud. I don't eat meat but I do eat seafood. So I asked, as I always do, if I could substitute prawns for chicken in the mole dish. No chef has ever had a problem with this as many dishes come with choice of meat and the mole sauce is separate so can be added to anything. In fact they had enchiladas and burritos with mole on the menu. Well, the waitress, who was just as sweet as she could be, said the cook couldn't do that because he couldn't change the menu. I said I knew there might be a price difference and I was ok with that. He still said no. For any of you who don't know Chicken mole is just chicken on a plate with mole sauce poured on it!! We left. We drank our delicious drinks and ate our guacamole and paid our bill and left. We won't be back. You may have noticed I changed from saying "Chef" to saying "Cook". A chef would have understood and accommodated me and a cook can only follow the book. read more

The chicken burrito crema really hit the spot! Craving Mexican food, we stopped here on the way back to Hood River. Located right before the entrance to I-84 this restaurant is so convenient. Huge parking lot, varied menu across all standard categories plus house specials, comfy booths and tables, and great service! The chips and salsa arrive warm and fresh; I particularly like that they are not salty because when they are, I pay the price for days! Salsa is mild, would have preferred more heat. Fajitas arrive sizzling and the aroma is intoxicating. Enough for two, easily. The shrimp tacos were on point. And as I mentioned, the burrito was awesome; we even ordered one to go for the next day! Margaritas are also good, I always prefer a basic Cadillac on the rocks, no salt. They offer several vari ith choices of tequila, fruit, frozen or on the rocks. We had a wonderful experience with delicious food and attentive service. The restaurant is clean, with lovely murals, and a nice bar area for 21+. We both recommend this place. The Hefeweizen was ice cold; the guacamole was fresh, tasty, and chunky; my mole was awesome and the burrito crema was delish. Highly recommend this restaurant. Side note: the blond haired woman at the front counter was in an awful mood. If she rolls her eyes and gives anymore side eye I think they will freeze in that position. We went for Happy Hour yesterday. The complimentary chips were stale, and if you asked for another basket they charge you without telling you. The veggie quesadilla was VERY oily and the Mexican pizza was bland. Margarita was 5/10 at best Service was fine but when we got our bill we saw that they charged more than what was priced on their website even as they were labeled as happy hour - the price raise is understandable but not informing us about that ahead of time even online feels shady especially as the food wasn't worth the original price to begin with. read more

This is perhaps one of the nicest restaurants in The Dalles with a great service, a good ambience and a terrific drink and food menu. Tried Camarones a la Diabla (Devil's Shrimp) and it was spicy and delicious. The beans were really tasty as well as the rice. Also had Sangria to go with it and it made for a good pairing. They have a lot of good options on the menu but more than anything, it feels like a top notch restaurant from the suburbs, the people were very polite and kind. It was ok... we were in town for a work trip. The entire group came here for dinner and they were extremely accommodating, AND there wasn't an auto tip added. I appreciated that. Pedro in the bar wa particularly nice. It was clearly a locals hangout. The passion blended drink I got was ok but lacking in flavor. The happy hour margarita was good but also lacking in flavor. I wish it had more sour flavor. The chips and salsa were ok. Dinners were on the higher side cost wise. They looked ok people seemed fairly satisfied. I ordered a side taco. It was taco bell size and $1.98 then I ordered cheese nachos from the kids menu for $4.99. Instead in the end they charged me $7.99 for small cheese nachos... literally chips and cheese. So freaking not worth it. I even had confirmed it was the kids meal. If it weren't for this mischarge, I would've given it three average ok stars, but I despise being over charged! They have ceviche which I was thrilled about, until I found out they use baby shrimp. Um ceviche isn't supposed to be fishy and baby shrimp are fishy! Ugh... All in all this is ok, but living in Gresham, I like my Mexican food here better. read more

Service was atrocious. Our server never came back to our table after taking our order, even though she continued to serve all the other tables around us. Anytime I tried to get her attention, I was ignored. When our food was brought out and missing items, we had to ask the receptionist to help us get the rest of our meal. Never had drinks refilled, never got checked on at all. After finishing our meal, we had to ask another server to track down our bill. Thats when our server finally came back to us. This place has completely gone downhill! They used to serve fresh food made from scratch and now it's frozen already cooked meat that tastes terrible! I was hoping they were just experimenting but I can confirm it's going to be this way from here on out! There prices have always been high but I didn't mind when they were serving fresh food! I will never go back and I would suggest to anyone that wants fresh Mexican food to go to one of the taco trucks in The Dalles the food is much better and way cheaper! read more
