    Homemade potato chips

From the outside it didn't look like much but the interior is so cute! Plenty of seating with natural lighting. We enjoyed the burrito and enchiladas. Just look at the size of our plates! Our server was lovely and even gave us complimentary house chips. Salsa was excellent. Flavorful and not too spicy. We left with happy full bellies.

Located right on Oak St, Lake Taco is in the hot spot of Hood River. Yet, it leaves much to be desired. It is quite expensive with small portions and mediocre flavors. We came after a hike along the Gorge, and they were quite busy, but service was friendly and welcoming. I got a cheesy taco and it didn't have much filling and it was $8. My friends also weren't impressed by their meals. I wouldn't be back, and I'm sure there are better places around Hood River to satisfy a hungry stomach.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but when we stepped through the door, my wife and I both commented on cute the place is. A friendly waitress seated us, got us some water and then promptly too our order. I went for the barbacoa burrito and my wife got two tacos. One chorizo and the other was mahi mahi. It didn't take long to get our food served to us. My burrito was fantastic!! 10 out of 10. The best burrito I've had I quite awhile. I put some of the green salsa that was on the table (made fresh just a couple of days ago). My wife said that her tacos were really good and gave them an 8 out of 10. Keep in mind that she ordered them without cilantro and onion. Anyway, cute place, great/prompt service and very tasty food. I would come back.

Honestly not impressed by this place. Tacos are $4 and supposed to be street style so they are small. However, the tacos only come with meat (not even onions/cilantro) - which felt skimpy and cheap. I got the carne asada huarache and the huarache was pretty tasty with the homemade masa dough. But the quality of meat was disappointing - a weird texture and cheap tasting. My partner got the chorizo burrito and it was super spicy - they really should mention in the menu when something is this spicy. The restaurant was busy but honestly service was just slow. I'd pick another restaurant if I were in the area.

All time spot. They moved locations so it's way more updated. Which I appreciate, especially since the food hasn't changed either. The 'garnachas' (hope I'm spelling that right) are amazing! We had to special request it. It was an item they had back at their old location but had since left of their menu at the new location. I hope they reinstate it. Staff was so friendly and nice as always.

Chicken burrito: huge, somewhat bland. Should have had the tacos. Nice ambiance. I ordered to-go but probably should have taken a table. Good, friendly service.

Food was delicious. Huarache plate was good and had plenty of meat! It had a a big home made tortilla and green salsa isn't too spicy but it was flavorful. Burrito was big. Got it with asada and chorizo. It was flavorful. Worth the price.

    Garnachas

This restaurant is a gem. The food was so fresh and delicious. I tried quesabirria tacos, mulitas, and garnachas. Each dish was packed with flavor and freshness. This family owned business is one you cannot miss. Luis helped us at the bar and his mom came out to share some history and spots in Mexico she recommends for me to visit.

Found this thanks to Yelp! Definitely a happy find. The feel is "hole in the wall," and that's not a bad thing - the food is so good and the people very friendly. We parked in front of the house, ordered and went through the walkway to sit outside with our pup. They were attentive and quick the whole time. The food though... we ordered the burrito. If you like spicy salsa, this is your jam! The rice is fluffy, my husband couldn't stop raving and I agreed the whole time (: Must try if near, we know we'll be back.

I got a meal with Vietnamese (shrimp) and Korean (pulled pork). The Vietnamese taco was suuuper good, flavorful mayo. Had to get past the idea of rice on a taco and then enjoyed myself thoroughly. The pulled pork didn't match the flavors of the Korean taco as well; I think next time I'd get tuna on the Korean taco. The servers were quick and friendly, and the space had fun decorations and efficient, though small, layout.

We ended up coming back the next day without hesitation for 2 days of tacos in a row and I'd return in a heartbeat if ever back in Hood River. These tacos are addictive! With their mix-and-match fusion menu, your taco of choice can really taste any way you like. The Hawaiian taco with grilled shrimp was my favorite, but I also enjoyed their Thai taco with chicken. I wish I could have tried all of them as everything featured good, fresh ingredients. Don't skip the drinks here either. I usually avoid cocktails but they offered to make their frozen margarita spicy for me and I couldn't resist -- fantastic! The service was over-the-top amazing. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter, seat yourself with a number, and wait for your food to be delivered. Service at such establishments is usually pretty perfunctory, but not at Love & Hominy. The servers are all super friendly and seem genuinely enthusiastic to be working in their restaurant. That in itself says a lot. As mentioned, this place is casual but still fun and eclectic. While eating your tacos in-house, check out the wall on the entrance side. It's pretty entertaining to look at.

However they lacked flavor or spices. Especially the chicken as it was not seasoned well and had no taste to it. I can say that the rice and beans were unlike any I have tasted and were pretty dog gone good. The service was top notch too. Full Sail is a very well respected micro brewery, founded in 1987 and the first craft brewery in the Pacific Northwest to bottle its beer. It's flagship Amber has won numerous awards, including recently in 2025 a Gold Medal at the NY International Beer Competition (along with the brewery being named Oregon Brewery of the Year). It has a large line-up of beers brewed inhouse There is a large paid parking lot across the street at $1.25 per hour, payable via credit card through nearby kiosks. Once entering, there is a long hallway, walking past the working areas of the brewery, until getting to the restaurant area. It has views of I-84, and further the Columbia River. The outdoor patio was not open (drizzling outside), and it was pretty crowded inside but we got lucky to be seated at a table near windows with a view. There have lunch and happy hour specials during weekdays. The lunch special is 1/2 of a sandwich (grilled cheese this day) along with a cup of their soup of the day (tomato). I was super excited about the Amber, so got a pint of that ($8) and pint of the Queen Wheat ($8). My wife enjoyed the Queen Wheat but didn't care for the Amber. I really liked the Amber, making me realize why I had drunk so much of that style earlier in my life when in Wisconsin, before switching over to wheat beer. There selection of beer is great, and a flight is the way to go ($18 of 6 5oz samplers). Buffalo Hot Wings ($17) - a decent amount of simply deep fried hot wings in a classic Frank's red hot buffalo sauce. Pretzel Bread Sticks ($13) - 4 large, warmed pretzels. Should have gotten the beer cheese to go with it. Salmon Fish & Chips ($20) - 3 small pieces of beer battered salmon, very dense and definitely tasting of wild caught salmon. It came with good fries and a really good, fresh cole slaw. There is a small refrigerator stocked with cans of certain beers for sale. Unfortunately, we were dismissively told that they were out of the Amber bottles for sale. So after our meal, went to the front to purchase directly from the front staff. Their Japanese rice beer from their Session lineup ($10 for a six pack) was available and what we brought back home with us.
