when i lived in Paramount Mr Gamino was still alive he was a gentle soul a great man but the food was excellent i miss it so it was the best mexican restraunt the green chili chimi was so good and i loved the apptizers he brought me one time they were some chips with chorizo and i know he put jalapenos but i never had them with jalpenos but they were delicous we miss you Mr Gamino RIP read more

Well I've been going here for well over 20 plus years. What I've noticed is that the plates have gotten smaller which means less food and and the prices have gone up. Now the taste isn't there anymore. I don't know what happened, but it's not there anymore. The service in this last trip which was last night was very good and attentive. My wife and I went in on a Friday night just after 10. No problem getting a seat, and the chips and salsa were at our table within 30 seconds. Overall I'm going to have to find another place. Chips were fresh and warm, sauce was really fresh and great, and the taco meat didn't have that Southern California greasy taste and the taco shell was soft and puffy, it was perfect. I loved it. read more

I've been going to this joint since I was in HS, some 25 plus yrs ago, good food. I like their abondigos soup. The place is always full of people, but the wait to get a table is usually pretty quick. I've never noticed bad service at all. So defiantly a good go to place for us. read more

Husband had a chile relleno, enchilada and taco combo and brought the taco home. The service was good. He wants to go back. We went on New Years eve before the big rush. Our first and last. We came here last night, the food taste very bland like frozen food. Red rice very dry, beans over salted, i ordered a fish fillet which was very bland the seasoning they put on the fish was on only on part of the fish, which i didnt eat at all and only ate the dry rice and beans. i had a salad which was not presentable all iceburge lettuce in big chunks just something they threw together with tons of ranch dressing, ugh! the only good thing at the restuarant was the live music played by the guitarist. read more

I went with my bf and my brother with his girlfriend and the server ended up spilling pico de gallo on my brother's shirt and he didn't even bother to apologize !! Service was okay. Waitresses and waiters were nice. Food came out in a timely manner. But the food wasn't that great nor the best. The lemonade was warm. Casa Gaminos had always been the place to go or take someone on special occasion. This tradition was going on the third generation as my children began taking their significant others there too, but as other reviews read, Casa Gamino has really declined in its food portions, quality and service. We continued going because like I said it had become a family tradition, but our last two visits totally changed our mind. In June of this year we took son to dinner in celebration of his24th birthday. We wanted him to have a good dinner before went to celebrate with his friends. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We thought it would be funny to embarrass him by having the waiters sing him happy birthday, so my husband notified our waiter. Since my son had plans for later we and hoping to save some time, we all decided what we were having before arriving. We told the waiter we were ready to order when he brought the drinks, but he wouldn't take our order. He said he would come "right back" except he didn't. It took him 12 minutes(my son was checking) to come back and take our order. When the food finally arrived, like others said, some of it was cold. I ordered the Chile Relleno, cheese enchilada combination plate which comes with rice and beans. The entire plate was covered in a red sauce and cheese. I couldn't tell where the chile or the enchilada were. And because it was cold, the whole thing was rubbery and not tasty at all, even a little on the salty side ( I guess from the cold cheese) My husband, being a sea food lover, ordered Camarones a la plancha. He was very disappointed, even mad, but didn't want to ruin the dinner. The camarones had no taste and seemed to be over cooked (not fresh at all). We all knew something was wrong when he left about half the plate of camarones. The other family members didn't comment on their dinner, but that in it self says a lot, as we all used to LOVE coming to dinner to Casa G and offering each other a taste of what we've ordered. Our waiter didn't greet us when he came to the table, he didn't tell us his name. He limited himself to taking our order, and nope, we didn't get refills on the chips or on our drinks. After dinner, we waited for the waiters to come sing to my son. We even ordered dessert to make time, but they never came. It was very disappointing. Our most resent experience was even sadder. We went on August 15th to celebrate my 13 year old son who wanted an asada quesadilla from Casa G. He's a picky eater, so when we find something he likes, we frequent it. My son accidentally spilled his drink into the chips, table and onto the floor. My husband jumped up and as we were seated right by the kitchen/waiter station, he notified a couple of other waiters who were there and they gave him a stack of paper towels to clean up the drink. We thought someone would come with a rag and a mop, and more chips but no one came. We cleaned as best we could with what we had, and as our waiter passed by my husband told him we needed assistance with the spill. He disappeared into the waiter's station and didn't come back until the first few plates were ready.He didn't help clean up until he realized there was no room to put the plates (because of the spill). Even after all the plates had been served, we had to ask him to refill the spilled drink and to bring more napkins and chips. The birthday boy's quesadilla was very greasy. Yes I realize cheese is greasy, but this was dripping with grease. We have ordered asada quesadillas before and they weren't as greasy. My husband ordered fish this time and again he hated it! He said it was overcooked and had no taste at all (not even chicken). The only reason we left a tip is because of the nice young guy who brings the chips and we suspect the waiter splits his tips with. We will never return to Casa Gamino, and will caution everyone we've ever recommended it and raved to. SO SAD. read more

i have been coming to this casa gamino since i can even remember...and i love it! the food is spot on delicioso every time. first thing...tasty chips and salsa...always fresh and while it seems weird, i think that right there can give you an expectation of what you have coming ahead in your meal when you first try a new mexican place. also they have awesome marinated carrots and cauliflower that they used to serve with chips and salsa but now you have to ask for them...i assume it is because alot of gringos (myself included) eat there and well...won't try what they dont know so it goes to waste. ASK FOR THEM!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! lol anyways...almost all the meals come with soup or salad...do not eat the salad! is it nasty??? no not at all...but if you do you are missing out on the most spectacular albondigas soup you will ever have! and that is no stretch of the word spectacular...it will kick your arse and you will love it for doing just that! i personally always order the same thing...always have since i can remember...specialty a!!!! it is a hard shell taco...cheese or beef enchilada (both are awesome but i go shredded beef and will never sway!) and then choice of chili rellano or burrito. both are really really good but i always go with the pork burrito which is the best burrito around...all big moist chunks or tasty pork and green chili (NOT SPICY) but i have to admit i do sometimes be a little piggy and add the chili rellano ala carte to go with all that...oink oink! lol when you leave you will feel like a brick is in your stomach...just dont wonder why you start craving bricks! people that say this isnt authentic mexican food are freakin crazy...ummmmm mexico does have more than just taco carts and there are a whole lot of different types of mexican food then you obviously know. if you need your taco truck/cart fix then this isnt the place...down the street there are a few places to fit that need but just hope that the dude making your tacos washed his hands after using the restroom...at least here you know it is clean! and anyone that says it is all non hispanics going in and out obviously never paid attention cause it is a swarm of all races coming in and going out with a smile...case closed! lol anyways the only bad thing that could happen is bad service...but it matters what waiter or waitress you get...most are good...few are bad...you will know right away which you got! lol in any case...enjoy the food and prepare to fall in love! read more

I was a long time customer of Casa Gamino until I was verbally assaulted by one of their waiters and then by their manager upon complaint about the way I was treated. I went to Casa Gamino almost weekly for 10 years taking numerous friends and family with me and giving them a ton of business. They knew me and were aware of how much I came in. I ordered a coke with cherry for the entire time I went there. One day when I was eating there the waiter brought us the bill with a $15.00 charge from the bar. We did not drink any alcohol so I asked him what the charge was for and he said it was because of my cherry coke. When I explained to him that I had never been charged this before he started yelling at me and telling me that I was going to pay it. His attitude and lack of explanation for why he charged me did not make sense at all. His overall attitude towards me was the most surprising thing. I talked to the manager on the way out and he told me that the waiter had been there for years and that he must be right. I left and I have never gone back. This place has good food but don't be surprised when you are verbally assaulted no matter how long you have gone there for as a customer. Burrito Grill off of Carson and Bellflower is better food and awesome service. read more

we had heard of this place and drove by a few times. we decided to try it out. it is on the corner and easy to find. good location. there is plenty of parking in two lots close by. we were promptly greeted and seated. our booth was close to the kitchen. our server quickly attended to us. there were live musicians playing mariachi style music. they were very good. he took our drink order right away. a few moments later, chips and salsa arrived. they were fresh and hot. a bad point was the bottom of the basket was filled with small crumby chips unable to be dipped in salsa. the salsa was spicy and tasty. however, during the meal a new basket, with more chips should have been supplied. the server took our food order right away. i had taco and chile relleno combo and my lady had flautas. the flautas were really long taquitos as the tortillas were not flour like flautas usually are. but they told us that in the menu. she really like her dish and said the guacamole was super tasty. she ordered ice tea to drink and said it was bland, tasteless. my taco was good not great, same for the chile relleno. the rice was flavorful. we saved the beans for home. the water ran out and the server did not refill the glasses. our mouths were on fire. bad form on the part of the waiter. i like the decor of the place. i did not like being seated too close to the kitchen as there was too much traffic, and a bad odor coming out. i was hoping to find a replacement, or an addition to enriques, in bellflower, but this is not better. read more
