We have been to this restaurant a few times now and it does not disappoint. We recently went and I had the bronzini on the special menu, it was amazing! My husband enjoyed the double cut pork chop with hot peppers also a special. The appetizers we got which were crab cakes and eggplant rolitini, were so delicious! Love the freshness of the food and the fact it's a byob! Wish the restaurant was a little bigger was pretty crowded the night we went but would definetly go back and recommend to anyone! read more

Love this place! Ate there last night (about the 5th time). The food is so delicious...never had a dish there that I didn't want to devour. Last night had the carpaccio (one of my favorite dishes anywhere), it was traditional, fresh and well executed. The appetizer was quite large, my daughter and I shared it and my husband nibbled and there were still leftovers. Had the crabcake appetizer as my main (they offered to upsize it, but I was saving room for dessert.) It was, fab, like no other...it was in a piccata type sauce. Yum... dessert was almond tiramisu...whats to say?... I didn't want to share. Hubby and daughter had pastas...tasted hub's...wow, even he couldn't finish it! They will even do a 1/2 order on certain pastas if you ask (Not specials). The service was delightful...funny, helpful, accommodating. Great new twist...you can byob (no corkage fee)OR order from the attached bar, which, by the way, was beautiful and happenin'. Will be back...A LOT! Don't miss this place! read more

Came in for mother's day. The service was really fast and pretty good overall. We were a total of 14 people, so I cannot really comment on every dish that was ordered. Mine, was some sort of Chicken Balsamico (all I tasted was a lot of balsamic vinegar). My girlfriend had the Fettuccine Christina and while it tasted good, it was possibly the hottest dish of pasta I had ever seen. We had to wait about 5 minutes before we actually could eat it, makes you wonder about how long it cooked for. Maybe it was just the sheer volume of customers in the restaurant, but pasta that hot is not normal. read more

So my family dined here tonight after being here in the past. It has always been mediocre. My in laws frequent it so they are friendly with the head waitress. We ordered a calamari dish that was an appetizer. I ordered the appetizer size and my parents ordered dinner size. When they brought the 3 dishes to the table, the sizes were almost difficult to distinguish from one another. When we received the bill we were charged (for the entree size) $33 for a small portion of shrunken calamari and tiny frozen shrimp. The thing is...the portion was not double but the price was! I spoke to the head waitress and she went in kitchen to come back ten seconds later to tell me the chef/owner said he did give you more for the entree portions. Complete lie. At that moment they should have reduced the price. She basically threw the check in my hands and said sorry he's not going to do anything about it. Then walked away. As we were leaving, the waiter said goodnight I hope you enjoyed everything. I told him we would not be back because we were ripped off. The head waitress runs over and asks what the problem was. She was like a nasty, psychotic angry person asking why I was yelling at her waiter!!! I was not at all. I was simply giving him my feedback as we were walking out. So needless to say, we will never go back. Also, my hubbies pork chop was completely raw inside. It then goes back into the kitchen to be reheated. It was like rubber when it came back. Overall, I'd skip this restaurant. There is little professionalism within staff and a crummy atmosphere with brown stains on the ceiling. This one is hard to review because the food is great but the same can not be said about the service. I have been here about 5 or 6 times and the quality of service depends who serving. The place is extremely small for dining and some of the tables were so wobbly my wine glass almost fell off the table a few times. I wish they would of expanded where the bar is now currently. read more

A surprising find in Lyndhurst which can easily compete with the finest Italian cuisine in Manhattan. At the end of my meal I would have licked the plate clean if I could have gotten away with it. The bill for 3 people came in under $50. Nice people, efficient service. Definitely check it out - you'll need reservations for dinner but lunch is just as good. Beyond happy that we found this restaurant! The food is outstanding! We went for dinner last night for apps we ordered the steamed clams and a house salad. For dinner, we ordered two entrees from the specials - i ordered the branzino and my fiancee ordered the squid ink pasta with shrimp and scallops. We were both blown away how delicious the food was. The seafood was so fresh and cooked perfectly! Also the service and hospitality was great! We will definitely be back and this may be our new go-to italian byob spot!! read more

Since moving to Lyndhurst 2 years I've passed this restaurant many times, but never had a meal.....boy what I have been missing. The service was impeccable even though for a packed dining room there were only 2 servers who multitasked. Everything right from the warm crusty bread to the cappuccino was superb. The food is standard Italian American fare with great specials while I was not blown away by the flavors, everything tastes fresh. This was the worst experience ever. My husband made reservations to celebrate my birthday at this place. When we got to the restaurant no one was able to help us. They just kept saying, "We don't know what to tell you", when we kept saying we had reservations. They could not sit us at a table because large groups of people walked in. We asked to speak to the manager and they told us he is in the kitchen and can't come out. We saw the waiter talking to him and looking at us and he didn't even try to help us with the situation. He completely ignored it and stood in the kitchen. After that, we told them we were leaving and they said " oh ok you will regret it, goodbye. VERY POOR SERVICE. ABSOLUTELY THE WORSE MANAGER AND RESTAURANT EVER. So disappointed. Do not count on your reservations for this place. You will regret it. read more

Everything we heard about this restaurant was true. Food delicious, especially the crab cake and fried artichokes! Our server, Maria was very friendly and knowledgeable. We went on a Saturday night, made reservations for 9 people. Place was packed! The only negative was that once we were served coffee, before our desserts were brought out, the check was on the table. An order of steak giambotta was priced at $37.95. More than double the price of a regular entrée . Although a tasty dish, it did not justify that price tag. This is a dish prepared with sirloin steak, not a prime cut of meat! Lyndhurst has many fine Italian Restaurants, check out Gelone's on Ridge Road. Specials are not more than double in pricing. Having eaten at Casa Giuseppe many times and loving their food. I can't tell you how disappointed we were Saturday not to be given a table when we had reservations. We had 8:00 pm reservations for 2 people. I don't expect to sit at a table that sits 6. However, it is unacceptable that people who came in at 8:30 pm were given a table before we were. 8:40 still no table and although the hostess offered us a drink on her, we left for another restaurant. Not acceptable at all; maybe she knew the other people but poor customer service. Having been to the restaurant before, we know the tables along the back wall have been broken up to sit for 2 people and smaller groups. The later reservations should have waited for the bigger table that had been there for sometime to vacate. We had already been waiting 30 minutes but yet they were sitted before us. So disappointed. The best restaurant in the area. Great service. The Squid Ink Pasta and the Hog Wings are amazing. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it is all great. The crab meat pasta. Fettuccine Christina. The pork chops. Etc, etc, etc. It's BYOB and there is a wine bar connected that will bring over wine\beer\cocktails right to your table.
