Food is ok. Good if you have a craving for Mexican food. I didn't think the food was spicy enough. Service is very good. Ambience is so so. Biggest room for improvement would be serving a bit of melted cheddar on the refried beans, including guacamole and sour cream with the burrito instead of making it something extra you have to buy, and maybe having some salsa with the rice. The margarita was delicious but pricey. I'll probably be back, but I've had better Mexican food elsewhere. read more

I ordered via a delivery service. There's a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area, and I finally got around to trying this one. Overall, quite good. I've had some better, but a lot that were worse. Their vegetarian burrito is a lot better than you get at other restaurants in the area. I ordered a chile relleno a la carte and received some kind of queso/beef dip instead. A little inconvenient but got a refund for it. Not quite a 5 star meal, but I'll be ordering takeout/delivery from here again. read more

This place has changed a lot recently. They need to pick up pieces and return this location to the place with a fine reputation of being a great Mexican restaurant. The place is large and spacious. It was originally decorated nicely to create a Mexican atmosphere with a happy vibe. They haven't properly maintained the store and equipment. Many of the booths are showing wear. My booth left me sitting in a hole where the springs were broken. The fabric was also torn. The service was slow. They used to be amazingly fast. Our drinks came out fast. The chips came out fast. Then we had to wait a long time for her come back and take our food orders. The food was delivered to the table in a timely manner by a runner. Our orders were correct. The food was good. Like several other aspects of this place the sanitation grade has spiraled down to a 92.0. That is low. The place used to have a clean feeling about it. read more

We have eaten here for years. We prefer this location from the Concord location because of the friendly wait staff. There has been a change in management recently and I think it's for the better. The food is great, the service staff moves extra fast and are extremely attentive to make sure your drinks are full and you don't need any thing. The place is decorated in beautiful tones with large screen TV's in every direction. I like the chips that are made in house with the salsa two. The issue with us, was that we waited over 20 minutes for our food and filled up on the chips and cold drinks. Our food came out little by little. That irritated us both, but when it finally came out! Everything was great! You get your money's worth! My chimichangas were stuffed with chicken. The fattest I have ever had. My husbands Texas sizzling chicken was pipping hot with giant, tender cuts of chicken, strips of melt in your mouth Beef and butter sautéed plump shrimp. There were just the right amount of many onions, green peppers and other veggies to compliment the dish perfectly. Don't take my word for it... Check the video. The menu had tres leches cake, but the place no longer makes it. They also had the breakdowns of the tipping prices at the bottom. I may have caught them on a bad day in kitchen, which explains the wait and the manner of delivery. It is for that reason I gave them four stars, instead of five. read more

Great meal again tonight at Casa Grande. Chips were fresh and salted. House salsa had a nice kick with fresh cilantro. Queso was just right and they brought us a spicier salsa and a salsa verde. Dos Equis amber came cold and poured to the top of the 32oz. mug. I'm usually one to go for a house specialty but tonight I was feeling a combination. I went with the taco, enchilada, and beef tostada. I customized my combination by making my taco a chicken soft taco and my enchilada a cheese one. I've always had a soft spot for a good cheese enchilada. Everything came out hot and delicious and the service was outstanding as well. If you are in the area,definitely give this place a shot. This is the very 1st time I have visited Casa Grande and received bad service. The waiter was rude. My sister was visiting from out of town. I mentioned I had enjoyed this restaurant on previous other visits. The staff was friendly and the margaritas were some of the best in the city. Needless to say, the experience of tonight made my sister question my choices in life. Wait for it...the restaurant was out of tequila. Casa Grande did not have not 1 bottle of tequila of any brand to make margaritas even though their menu mentions 5 varieties with 5 different variations. Of course we were informed AFTER placing order. The waiter sashayed away without asking if we would like to order a substitution. We then requested to see the menu to find a drink substitution. The substituted drinks were fantastic. The food was filling. I felt others needed to be aware of what you may expect. read more

Casa grande is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Charlotte area so my review is a little biased. I can alway count on having a delicious meal here! The portions are fairly large so sharing is definitely possible. It's always loud and a tad chaotic (in a good way) so don't expect a nice quite dinner. Celebrating birthdays here is also tons of fun because they bring a dessert with one candle and make you wear a sombrero while the staff sings to you. I always get the chicken rice dishes and am never disappointed. My family also always gets the fajitas texanas which comes out on a hot plate. We haven't ever ordered anything that's not good here so be adventurous and try something new! The reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the cleanliness of this place. I don't believe the salsa was fresh because it lacked the flavor of charred tomatoes, peppers and onions. The service was was courteous and friendly. It was local, we went during lunch which was quiet and prices were reasonable. We ordered carnitas which was dry and the chicken tacos was okay. If I could give a zero star review I would. I would like to prefix that I never write reviews I've just never been that person, but this has to be the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Upon entering everything was fine, we ordered a pitcher of daiquiri and it tasted like dirt. We did ask for another which was provided and was much better. I ordered a chimichanga and the beef inside tasted spoiled and burnt at the same time, I took one bite spit it out and didn't touch it again. I got full off of chips and salsa and a pitcher of daiquiri. As I was drinking the daiquiri and shaking some salt onto my hand I noticed a bug in the salt jar. 10 years prior me and my family had went and saw a roach so we thought since it's been 10 years why not try it again and we were still disappointed. Our waitress was very nice but the service was extremely slow even though there was barley anyone in there. I would not recommend eating here $54 worth of food gone to waste I couldn't even try to force myself to eat it. read more

Service was great. Food was not. I ordered a quesadilla, which was fine. My daughter ordered nachos which had almost no cheese but sat in a puddle of grease. We asked for a new one and the 2nd dish was almost as bad as the first. My son tried the seafood soup and the first spoonful had a whole octopus which freaked him out and he couldn't eat it. Worst food and service. Waited over an hour to receive food after tables that sat after us got food. First dish served cold while waiting on all other food to come out. WAITED over 5 minutes for an extra plate so the meal could be split while other tables were greeted and served. Other food finally came out 10 minutes after first dish was sat at the table. With those last meals being completely wrong. Only to wait another five minutes for the correct dish to come out wrong again. Only to wait another 5 minutes to be wrong again. No refills on waters. We picked this place to eat at because we have never ate here before. We were in the area to go shop at Costco and this place was close to there. My older son did not like this place at all, but I think he was just having a bad day. It's typical Americanized Mexican food. The food was delicious, wait wasn't very long at all. We also ordered some appetizers as well, nacho chips with queso sauce. The queso is amazing! I ordered the Tostada de' camaron' witch is a salad like meal with shrimp and avocados. Shrimp was delicious, the salad itself was a bit tangy but the lime that comes with helps even the spices out. Overall very well food and service. My only bother would be the noise, lots of children yelling etc. Other than that it was fantastic and I'd see myself returning for another meal. read more

We took my wife's brother and his wife to dinner here based on the recommendation of my granddaughter. We made a reservation for 1730, but it was not really necessary at that time of day. When we left around 1900, however, there was a line waiting to get in. The chips and salsa as appetizers were delicious, and the server was generally attentive to refills. My brother in law and I enjoyed Dos Equis beer; we each had two. I was impressed with the taste which went well with the meal. I ordered the Burrito Casa Grande with beef strips, beans, lettuce, and a cheese blend served with guacamole and pico de gallo. The serving was tasty and generous. I'd forgotten how cheap Mexican food is. I had a giant lunch for $3.25. I've spent more on a bottle of water! The Speedy Gonzalez consisted of a taco, an enchilada and choice of rice or beans. This is a typical Mexi joint, so don't expect to be wowed with either gourmet influences or taqueria authenticity. Salsa was mediocre, a little thin, and could have used more heat. Casa Grande is my absolute favorite place to eat when I am in Concord. If I could, I would be there multiple nights at week. It is extremely fairly price and the servers are very attentive. Plus, the food is great! I've never been disappointed. I like to stick to my normal of a chicken burrito, cheese dip, and sweet tea, but I know that anything on the menu would satisfy my taste buds.
