I love Casa Jalisco- best Mexican food in town! Hours can be strange sometimes and the establishment is tiny. It's a family joint and has to flex to their personal needs at times. So just plan to pickup an order because it's well worth the little extra cost you pay compared to other Mexican restaurants in town. Birria tacos are delectable and likely the best I've had- greasy yet crunchy! My husband always goes for a burrito of some sort and ironically my daughter likes their hot dogs. Small but mighty! You select your table and place your order at the counter. There were lots of people coming and going. I ordered 3 authentic tacos. 2 leguna and 1 shrimp. I had to ask for lime wedges but it came with cilantro and onion. I carry zero carb tortillas with me. So it was an easy switch. This location is the only one but they do have a food truck. Came here with my friends and can I just say how happy I am to how stumbled upon this amazing Mexican restaurant! Tasted very authentic and the service was great. I ordered the fajitas jaliscos which included steak, chicken, and shrimp, my friend ordered steak fajitas and then my other friend ordered chilaquiles. My co-worker and I walked in and some random guy spotted us in the parking lot as we headed to the front door, he shouts BEST MEXICAN FOOD in Minot ! (Psstttt he's right!). Service was fast & friendly, food - I snagged chicken fajitas - was excellent. Ambiance - pretty cool. Great food, great service, being from California and knowing what authentic Mexican food is this is the closest I can find. My only mark would be they are on the pricey side. In Cali I can get the same amount of meat and fixins' in a street taco shell size for $2.00 instead of $5.00 here and it has lots to do with the street taco tortillas are a lot cheaper than the normal size corn tortillas. But I will pay the extra price for the quality of food and family atmosphere service. I also wish they were open all week long and into the wee hours of the morning. Came here on the recommendation of Fellow work team member. It is a small place first of all. On by individuals who live here. First impression was WOW the kitchen and place was really clean. I mean the kitchen was really clean. Seating area is small but don't let that discourage you. Ordered some enchiladas. Had a cool beer. Everyone loves there food that came in. There was a steady stream of patrons while I was there. They have breakfast on the menu. The food came out as ordered. It was hot and delicious. Oh my it was really good. I grew up in Texas, beginning a life-long love affair with Mexican cuisine by the time I was four. Given a choice of restaurants, I will nearly always choose Mexican. Alas, most of the time I am disappointed--sometimes sorely. I've lived in Illinois for 40 years. Yet thanks to the nationwide proliferaton of Mexican cuisine, it's usually available no matter where I travel. Last month I was driving through Minot, North Dakota. I stopped at the first Mexican place I ran across, Cafe Jalisco. It was the kind of "greasy spoon" restaurant I prefer (understand: their cutlery was perfectly clean). I ordered the same thing I always order, no matter where I am, so that I can more easily judge the tastes: one cheese enchilada, one beef taco (lengua, when it's available), rice, refried beans. THIS WAS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE HAD IN MANY YEARS!!! That is NOT hyperbole. I could have made a full meal of just the frijoles refritos (plus the scrumptious, homemade totopos). EVERY item on my plate was the best I had had in years. Including the salsa, which was wonderfully tasty and spicy hot. Again, the following is not hyperbolic: My current trip was necessitated by a friend's medical emergency, and I have zero reason to return to North Dakota. But in the back of my mind I have found myself playing around with ideas for a personal vacation that would take me through Minot, for the sole purpose of providing an excuse to eat at Cafe Jalisco again. That's the outsized impact that single meal had on me. I desperately hope lots of people will patronize this business, in order to guarantee it will be open whenever I can find a chance to make that thousand-mile trip again. read more

this is a great Mexican restaurant. my husband ordered the steak fajitas and they were so well seasoned and flavorful there was more meat to veggie ratio, which in most restaurants they pile on the veg and sprinkle some meat in between. not here. my husband was very satisfied which says alot to him. I ordered the huevos divorciados. half red Chile and half green toastada chips and topped with a fried egg. with refried beans down the middle. I love green chilie but the red won in this dish. this was a great brunch dish. the Horchata is very popular and they sold out. lots of to go orders were being called in. always people there. it is hopping. 2 things I was disappointed in were the flour tortillas. they are paper thin and have no flavor. the menudo. I had hopes for this but it was bland. it was missing the menudo seasonings.. none were in there. pass on it. overall we were happy with the food we ate and will go back. read more

Hey Dakota Gringos... Regardless if you can pronounce the business name, (HAL EASE KO) go try their delicious south of the border food and enjoy the great service. I grew up in Minot during the 70's when the Mexican food options were less than authentic and I have lived in Denver for many years. It's so awesome for me to come back home to visit and have such great Mexican food available. We ordered a chicken chimichanga with a green sauce which is made from tomatillo tomatoes. The green sauce was extremely flavorful with a nice little twang with little to no heat. My mother ordered chicken enchiladas with red sauce and she loved it. Both were 'Platos' (plates) which come with rice and beans. Chicken entrees give you a choice of shredded or grilled chicken. They recommended the grilled chicken and it was very moist with tons of flavor. We placed a takeout order and everything was all packed up and ready to go in 15-20 minutes. It's a little off the beaten path out by the fairgrounds but driving from everywhere in Minot is only a 10 minute drive even with all this new traffic.. Get out and enjoy Casa Jalisco, we'll definitely be back!! read more
