Signing up for their Rewards Program is a complete mess. A Rewards Program should be easy and simple to sign up for, also log in to your account, etc. Badlands uses a third-party app making it extremely difficult. The waitresses here all look mad and upset for some reason. They were not friendly at all. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. Soup on the salad bar was not properly refilled. We were there at noon and one of the soups was out? We were told they would not be refilling it. Also, that they only make one pot of soup per each option of the day? Lucky us! Keep this in mind when making your lunch decision. read more

Nice clean place, I love the local franchises! I was there between lunch and dinner after traveling the road for a few hours. My parents really wanted a salad bar and this place definitely had a great salad bar/soup bar they were looking for. So they walked away very happy. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich, it was good...not great...not bad...good. The chicken was a good size peace of chicken and the bun was great, I just couldn't put my finger on what would make it outstanding. Just missed by a little, wasn't disappointed in my choice but I wouldn't get it again if I make my way back to Minot I would choose something else. read more

Super friendly staff and lots of TVs to catch your favorite game. One of the best salad bars I've ever had with multiple soup offerings and for a dollar extra you can get a half sandwich! Lots of different offerings on a pretty good size menu and a fully stocked bar make this a great place for lunch or dinner! read more

Nice place to find as we travel through Minot, ND. Just wanted a snack & a beer . Walking in, the hostess greeted us w/ a smile. The atmosphere makes you feel welcomed. Got here mid-afternoon... not very busy at all. Cody was our Bartender. Friendly guy w/ a good attitude. Super attentive. We ordered the pretzel sticks. Wow.... they were sooooo good. When we first entered the Badlands Restaurant we were greeted and seated right away. The server was fast to take our drink and food order. The lighting is nice. The music plays softly and is the perfect amount of background music. They do serve you bread and cinnamon butter before your meal. I had the Philly CheeseSteak Sandwich and it was average. Food is average. BLT Sandwiches for some reason is made with multigrain bread. What is one bread that should NOT be used on a BLT- that is multigrain! Sourdough would be better- or have an option. Salad bar has plenty of options but the soup has little to no flavor. The biggest problem with Badlands is the drinks! We hand multiple drinks, water, soda, and alcoholic drinks. All had a off/ weird taste which we found out to be soapy. They need to replace the water, be able to clean their drink ware and fix this issue. This problem has been going on for a long time. 3 is a very fair rating for this establishment. The food is not spectacular; some of it is good (Chicken Fried Chicken) & some of it is inedible (Burger Sliders, Fries, Canned Corn- their most served "seasonal vegetable") Service was slow & detatched, despite the lack of patrons. I am still cutting slack for covid though, so, we'll overlook that part, mostly. Sslad bsr is back open, must wear gloves to self-serve. We were 2 tables 8 / 4 - d/t max of 10 per table. The feedback was very mixed - with empty cup discussions stating the overwhelming dislike of the burger sliders (patty, bun & a pickle) a constant. There was no ketchup to be found. As for my own plate, my chicken fried chicken was plump & juicy on the inside - golden & crisp on the outside. It was clean oil fried & seasoned well. The potatoes were not seasoned but both were smothered in a chicken gravy - not country, as listed on the menu. The corn was unpleasant - it always has been. I didn't want to pay an upcharge to sub something edilble, since I'd already have more than I'd eat though. Fried pickles were sliced style & very good. The burger was decent, neither good nor bad. Pretty underwhelming experience. Maybe the waitress we got was having a bad day, but she definitely didn't want to be working that day, which made for an awkward meal. The food tasted like it was all just heated up frozen meals. We went here for lunch today and it was mediocre. I wish I would've just gotten the salad bar because that's the only thing I would come back for. I got spinach artichoke dip and my chips had so much salt on them that they were shiny. By the time I got new chips my dip was completely hardened. Not to mention almost all the food was super salty. Are waitress came to us maybe two times other than taking our order and brining us our food. On multiple occasions we had to flag down another waitress. The restaurant itself was clean for the most part. We were sat at a table that had wet seats and crumby table. This is one of the many bad experiences I've had here. So there we were, hungry and exhausted from the day. After much debating and deliberating, we decided to go with Badlands, a restaurant that we had not visited since before the pandemic. In my opinion, they carried a great reputation before COVID-19 and maintained it afterward through their takeout service. Due to all these reasons, the choice to return to Badlands was easy. To keep it short and sweet, I'll be topical. We arrived at 12: 52 p.m., seated around 1:00 p.m., and began waiting on our order around 1:15 p.m. Our table was a party of four who ordered two wraps, a burger, and mini corn dogs (entrees that are not the most time consuming in their preparations). As we witnessed the arrival of new patrons and their food arriving before ours, we began to grow in frustration; however, we did not say a word. In fact, we remained quite and outwardly content to wait. We wanted to see if the restaurant would address the issue or just sweep it under the rug. Finally, though around 2:20 p.m. our sustenance arrived! We ate and enjoyed. The food was great, but something happened that was even better. As we were eating, a man who appeared to be the day manager approached us. He expressed that he knew of the delay and to show his appreciation for our wait he compensated us the entire meal, a value of $57! Even though we never displayed a word of our frustration verbally or visually, Badlands took note and self corrected. Because of this attention to detail and customer service, we will definitely return and continue to support this establishment. Badlands Restaurant is available through door dash, and the hubs and I were looking for a burger. We decided to try a local place, and searched the menu for the right entree. The food came well packaged in well sealed clean containers, wrapped plastic utensils, and sauces in plastic ramicans. Nothing was sloppy or a mess when it arrived. We love cheese curds and try them everywhere we go. We really liked them. They had good flavor, and were not like your typical curds at other places (BWW, Dairy Queen..). Hubs got the grilled cheese burger. It was super cheesy and delicious; however, sometimes good food comes with consequences. . I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was pretty good, but average. No ketchup or other sauces came on the burger, so that was disappointing. Overall, based on a Doorsdash order, the food was pretty average. Other than the cheese curds, you get a better burger at Red Robin. We would like to go in and see the service and try something different from the menu. There was a huge variety, and getting recommendations from staff is always helpful. I think it's easier to get sauces and everything right when you are in house. Until COVID provides for a chance to go out, we will try other places in town via DoorDash. read more

I don't know why this only has three stars. Our visit was great. Service - immediately seated, prompt server with menus and very courteous. Drinks - great draft beer and drink selection. The house amber was excellent. Food: steak tips, walleye, and chicken/rice bowl were delicious. Saw a few other people get the salad bar and looked like they were very happy with their choice. All were reasonably priced at around $15-$18. Ambience: bar area is great - plenty of TVs and seats. Dining areas also looked good, kind of north woodsy. read more

The service was top notch, the atmosphere was friendly, the cheese curds were really good and my meal was amazing too. If you're scared to come here based off bad reviews please don't! This place was perfectly adequate. I appreciated that they had vegetarian options, that was nice! The staff was, for the most part, very helpful and patient. I tried the pink mojito which was fine. And a friend and I split the pretzel sticks for an appetizer. I think the cheese sauce was from scratch - it was good. I'm pretty sure the pretzel sticks were deep fried and they were fine. After reading the bad reviews, I asked our Minot host about the place. He said it was pretty good. Clean and newer atmosphere. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Tortellini. My daughter ordered the SW Chicken Alfredo. Both were decent. I had my leftovers while waiting for our plane the next day. Appetizer of potato skins was kind of skimpy. Not bad, but more fast food than sit down. I had the local Souris Bakken Brown Ale as well. It was all right. Nothing that would win a contest, but drinkable. Decent place. read more

The waitstaff that brought our order to us curbside was prompt and pleasant. We ordered the chicken cordon blue sandwich, Cajun chicken tortellini, and fried pickles. Sandwich was the best/ juicy, tender chicken and good sauce to accompany. Tortellini was not as spicy as I'd hoped for, smaller portion than I anticipated (for the price, I thought it'd be a full meal), and needed more sauce- noodles were kind of dry. The fried pickle spears were different from chips, I liked the light, crunchy batter and juiciness from the spear. The dipping sauce was good as well. read more

We had our family dinner here over the weekend. We got seated right away which with three boys was awesome. We didn't true any apps, but the rolls and butter were what you'd find at a Texas Roadhouse/Logan's and that's great for us considering there weren't peanut shells everywhere keeping us from eating there. I got the ribs and they were tasty, but lacked smoke flavor. My Mac and cheese was delicious, but I never got my coleslaw. My wife's fish was bland, but she enjoyed her coleslaw and side salad. Beautiful Restaurant, mediocre food. Soups taste canned or frozen. The salads are good, fresh. Mozzarella Sticks are great and made from scratch (be warned though, they use a LOT of oregano), the fried green beans are good as well. I don't mind paying for a good steak but for the cut and quality of their Ribeye's, they are overpriced. The baked potatoes are always under cooked. We've stopped going there altogether after several bad meals. Sad, Minot could really use a good steak house!! read more

Really Enjoyed my lunch from the salad bar until one of the workers just started sweeping the dirty floors like literally beside us. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a clean restaurant but there's gotta be some kind of code of when to clean with a broom and spray bottles. As you're sweeping with a broom I'm sure dust is flying all around so it was really disappointing to be trying to eat while she was busy pushing her broom all over the floors and stirring dust all in the air and onto my plate. read more
