Super friendly staff and lots of TVs to catch your favorite game. One of the best salad bars I've ever had with multiple soup offerings and for a dollar extra you can get a half sandwich! Lots of different offerings on a pretty good size menu and a fully stocked bar make this a great place for lunch or dinner!

Nice place to find as we travel through Minot, ND. Just wanted a snack & a beer . Walking in, the hostess greeted us w/ a smile. The atmosphere makes you feel welcomed. Got here mid-afternoon... not very busy at all. Cody was our Bartender. Friendly guy w/ a good attitude. Super attentive. We ordered the pretzel sticks. Wow.... they were sooooo good. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. The cheese sauce is the best. YUM !!! The menu has some good items on it. We will be back for dinner !!!

When we first entered the Badlands Restaurant we were greeted and seated right away. The server was fast to take our drink and food order. The lighting is nice. The music plays softly and is the perfect amount of background music. They do serve you bread and cinnamon butter before your meal. I had the Philly CheeseSteak Sandwich and it was average. I expected more meat on it. The fries were oversalted. The kids cheeseburger was delicious though. Would recommend if you're stopping through Minot. Average Restaurant for Minot.

Food is average. BLT Sandwiches for some reason is made with multigrain bread. What is one bread that should NOT be used on a BLT- that is multigrain! Sourdough would be better- or have an option. Salad bar has plenty of options but the soup has little to no flavor. The biggest problem with Badlands is the drinks! We hand multiple drinks, water, soda, and alcoholic drinks. All had a off/ weird taste which we found out to be soapy. They need to replace the water, be able to clean their drink ware and fix this issue. This problem has been going on for a long time. Beware of any drinks you may order!

3 is a very fair rating for this establishment. The food is not spectacular; some of it is good (Chicken Fried Chicken) & some of it is inedible (Burger Sliders, Fries, Canned Corn- their most served "seasonal vegetable") Service was slow & detatched, despite the lack of patrons. I am still cutting slack for covid though, so, we'll overlook that part, mostly. Sslad bsr is back open, must wear gloves to self-serve. We were 2 tables 8 / 4 - d/t max of 10 per table. The feedback was very mixed - with empty cup discussions stating the overwhelming dislike of the burger sliders (patty, bun & a pickle) a constant. There was no ketchup to be found. As for my own plate, my chicken fried chicken was plump & juicy on the inside - golden & crisp on the outside. It was clean oil fried & seasoned well. The potatoes were not seasoned but both were smothered in a chicken gravy - not country, as listed on the menu. The corn was unpleasant - it always has been. I didn't want to pay an upcharge to sub something edilble, since I'd already have more than I'd eat though. Fried pickles were sliced style & very good. The burger was decent, neither good nor bad. I won't be in a hurry to come back & won't choose it as where I'd want eat, when I'm the one picking.

Badlands Restaurant is available through door dash, and the hubs and I were looking for a burger. We decided to try a local place, and searched the menu for the right entree. The food came well packaged in well sealed clean containers, wrapped plastic utensils, and sauces in plastic ramicans. Nothing was sloppy or a mess when it arrived. We love cheese curds and try them everywhere we go. We really liked them. They had good flavor, and were not like your typical curds at other places (BWW, Dairy Queen..). Hubs got the grilled cheese burger. It was super cheesy and delicious; however, sometimes good food comes with consequences. . I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was pretty good, but average. No ketchup or other sauces came on the burger, so that was disappointing. Overall, based on a Doorsdash order, the food was pretty average. Other than the cheese curds, you get a better burger at Red Robin. We would like to go in and see the service and try something different from the menu. There was a huge variety, and getting recommendations from staff is always helpful. I think it's easier to get sauces and everything right when you are in house. Until COVID provides for a chance to go out, we will try other places in town via DoorDash.

Oddly, i've never been to this chain until this evening…read more The decor was very nice. Kind of a step up from Texas roadhouse, which is kind of honky-tonk - fine in its own way, but can be really loud. Longhorn is definitely not that, it was quiet and classy. It was a nice place to have dinner. I had the 9 ounce renegade sirloin steak with steamed broccoli and Caesar salad. Pretty basic, but the steak was cooked perfectly for me. I like medium well and it was exactly that just a hint of pink. The taste was really good and the steak was tender. The broccoli was nice and crunchy. The Caesar salad was OK. It wasn't great - a little heavy on the croutons versus salad, but it was OK. The warm loaf of wheat bread was really yummy with melted butter. I liked that a lot. The only downside was I wanted to try the French onion soup: I ordered it but I never received it. I was never charged for it either so it wasn't that big a deal. And I certainly could live without it, but I did want to try it because it is my favorite soup and I tend to try it everywhere I can get it. Granted, my server did make that mistake, but otherwise she was delightful. Really pleasant, professional, checked on me without being overbearing. Kept bringing me more club soda without having to ask for it. So she checked all my boxes. The next time in my travels when I would like a steak and not pay through the schnoz, will look for this chain.

I had to send my water glass back because the outside was smudged with stuck food. I checked my girlfriend's glass and it was smudged too and said she didn't do that. She said damn so my glass is contaminated and she didn't drink from it from them on. As we got our tabs, someone from the group noticed the gratuity charge so I asked about it. I spoke to the manager stating that we hadn't paid yet and didn't add that. He said it's automatic. I told him we only chose 5 items on the menu, gratuity wasn't on the menu, we didn't choose that. He said for a party of 6 or more it's automatic because some parties leave without tipping the server. I said we had separate tabs, 3 different total, our tab was three people. And he said it doesn't matter you were at the same table. I said we don't want to tip, we weren't going to tip anyway. My water glass was dirty and I had to send it back and the server will tell you that. Someone from our table wanted to order a soup and I gave them mine because the server never showed back up. Our food came out when a few people were halfway done and the restaurant was DEAD. He says but servers only make $10 an hour and it's not fair. I agree it's low but the tip is my choice take it off... he kept saying "but how much are you going to tip the server". I told him I've never seen that charge in any restaurant. He says "every restaurant does it, even Longhorns (as if it makes it any better)" and "we been doing this a long time". He wouldn't agree to take it off and time was dragging on so we left. Ending thoughts: it's like adding a portion of the electricity bill and saying "but we have to keep the restaurant running". Their wage has nothing to do with our tip. You shouldn't push a tip on us without our consent. No hospitality. They had a salad bar and someone mentioned it was all you can eat. That's something he could've said "btw we have a salad bar please help yourselves". He didn't even ask how our food was! He took the order, dropped food off then dropped off tab. Gratuity is for the service the server gives. It's voluntary. It's not a decision for the restaurant to make for you. They should pay them more if that's the case and TRAIN THEM BETTER. I even stacked our plates neatly when we were done as I was a server before. They assume every big party is messy and will tax you for it with 15% tip. Also, nice fake 5 star reviews
