Once the issue had been addressed they immediately contacted me and have stepped up to continue providing fantastic care for my cat. This review is for their pet-sitting services only. It is more of a 3.5 star though than 3, but there is still the issue with half stars. So we had to leave for a week and really did not want to overload relatives with sitting of our cat, so I finally decided to give this business a try. Scheduling was pretty easy, it is done through their website where you complete a short questionnaire about your darling feline and shortly after you receive an email confirming the dates and giving you the name of you sitter. You will also receive an invoice which you can pay by PayPal or to the sitter. The sitter will contact you to arrange for keys pick up and to meet the puss. During this visit you show around your place(location of food, litter, toys etc) and sign an agreement outlining the terms of service. I think it would have been a good idea for me to get the copy beforehand, I'm sure you can also request for it to be mailed to you when booking. Some main points in the agreement include the payment schedule and the emergency plan in case of illness (name and address of your vet, emergency contacts). What took me by surprise is that one of the points states that they are not liable for the loss of home or possessions in it, which basically means that you have to blindly trust the person you give your keys to...hm. In our case everything was fine, no emergencies happened and I could tell that the cat has been well cared for, when we came back, there was still some food and a lot of water left in the bowls and the toilet was properly maintained. The shedding was minimal which indicates that the kitty did not stress much. My only concern and the reason for the star off is that our sitter was a smoker and I naively thought that pet sitters just like child sitters are supposed to come in a non-smoker package, apparently I was wrong about that and the next time will try to specify my requests accordingly. I also thought there would be more feedback during our away time, but I only got one email and only after I myself requested the status update. After we got home I got an email from the scheduler confirming that we are back and that the cat is not alone, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. We've used used Casa Meow two times for their cat sitting services. Our cat sitter was Kim Austin. Our first meet-and-greet was in November 2016, and it was very positive (our initial impression of Kim was that she really enjoyed pet sitting). We explained upfront that we have security cameras in all of the rooms of our apartment (she even said it was a good idea). For the first cat sitting in November 2016, we were away for about a week. When we reviewed the security camera recordings (daily, and when we returned from our trip), we found that Kim visited for about 10 minutes each day (sometimes as little as 5 minutes), and didn't do the routine we asked (e.g. cleaning up loose cat litter, cleaning the cat water bowl, etc). She left daily notes and said she had a family emergency so she was unable to complete the full time. We gave her the benefit of the doubt because our initial meet-and-greet was really positive. The second (and definitely last) cat sitting was June 2016 for a week. Here's a breakdown of each visit: Day 1 - 11:00am - 11:30am; 30 min - Watched TV, didn't really interact with the cats. Day 2 - 11:09am - 11:27am; 18 min - Watched TV Day 3 - 3:13am - 3:19am; 6 min Day 4 - 5:06am - 5:18am; 12 min Day 5 - 6:09am - 6:16am; 7 min Day 6 - 5:33am - 5:47am; 14 min - I think this was the only time she slightly cleaned up loose cat litter because she knew we were coming home this day? She visited very weird hours (similar to what she did in November), and the visits were incredibly short. For most visits, she just scooped litter, filled food, added more water, and left. I tried emailing Casa Meow (at different email addresses), and calling but they won't answer. I have tried 15 times to contact them. Because we paid with PayPal, I have opened a dispute with PayPal to get our money back. Do NOT trust Casa Meow with your pets. Casa Meow are running a deceitful, and fraudulent business. read more

I've been using Casa Meow's services for a few years now and would definitely recommend them! Our cat sitter, Gail, is the best! She brings our two cats new toys all the time and writes very detailed email updates after every visit. It's very reassuring to get the daily updates saying everything is fine and the cats are having a good time while we're away. I want to start by saying that when I used Casameow for the first time I thought they were an amazing company very organized and professional but it did not stay that way. I have to say I have never been more disappointed in the treatment I received from my cat sitter and the management who never even bothered to return my call. My first clue should have come from the fact that my cat sitter found it necessary to comment on my cats diet and give me dietary advice. I hired a cat sitter not a vet or a cat whisperer. I had two or three bookings without incident just the unsolicited advice on absolutely everything cat!! One of my cats had developed diabetes and now required shots I emailed my cat sitter Gale and inquired about if she gives shots or would I need a new sitter. Gale said she has other cats that required shots and she would just need to come over to and observe me giving a shot she also went through payment information. A couple of days later she sent me an invoice after reading through the invoice I realized the holiday Monday with shots and holiday payment was astronomical. I made alternate arrangements for the holiday Monday afterwards I received an email from Gale accusing me on compromising my cats health for money reasons!!! FIRST off if I change my mind or plans it's no one's business. SECOND how dare anyone say that to a client or to a pet owner for that matter. I sent an email to Gale telling her she crossed the line and then I found myself justifying myself, explaining to her that my cats were 18 years old and were never sick a day in their lives so I must be doing something right. She asked me to get another cat sitter and CC'd management on the email ; management never bothered to even give me a call. I wrote Gale back explaining I don't want a new sitter I just think she should watch how she speaks to me. Gale came for the visit to watch the shot and again gave me mounds of advice even though my Vet advised me otherwise. She argued that my cat should eat before his shot when the vet said just make sure there is food available which there is ALWAYS open dry food. I justified myself to Gale once again explaining that my cat eats even my niece chimed in to say he eats and he eats often. I don't need to open a can of wet food to prove that he eats, he's my cat and I know his habits I have had him for 18YEARS!!!! So I compromise and I tell Gale give him (the cat) a can split in two twice a day so this BULLY know it all has now made me compromise MY best judgment when it comes to MY cat. So fine the weekend passes I come home OVER pay my bill and arranged for my next weekend away. Not only was there no acknowledgment that I over paid my bill I was billed for my next weekend away without a credit. I didn't pay my next invoice because I requested a NEW invoice I waited but never got it so I paid the bill adjusted the total MYSELF then waited 3days for the company to except the payment waited 3DAYS. So then I get an email from Gale letting me know the she would no longer be my cat sitter she says this with no explanation! I request a reason from her! here is her answer... Patricia, we have different priorities when it comes to cat care. I have not been confident that JC was receiving his meds within the time period needed and I was left sick with worry when not kept informed. Also, you are not abiding by the terms of our service agreement which states that invoices are to be paid on commencement of service. I'm hopeful this explanation will suffice for relinquishing my responsibility as JC and Jags caregiver and would ask that you speak to my office going forward, if you have any further inquiries. How is that right. How come they wait days before they except payments? Is this my fault too. So in the end Casameow gets a negative review and all people seeking a cat sitting service this place is the WORST... We recently needed a cat sitter as our usual sitter (a family member) was unavailable. We contacted Casa Meow and they got back to us very quickly to make arrangements. Kim was great - apparently she has lots of experience dealing with elderly cats (ours is 19!). From the notes she left after each visit, it seems our cat had a normal (for her), unstressful week, which is really all we hoped for. And in fact, she may have gotten some extra attention from Kim than what she normally gets from us :-) I would not hesitate to use Casa Meow again or to recommend them. I just came back from my vacation today and had to write a review about my experience with Casa Meow because I feel like not enough happy customers have given them the credit they deserve. Our cat sitter was Gail. I have to preface that I am very protective of my cat, Kitten Von Socrates--and was a little hesitant to let a stranger take care him--a) my cat does not like strangers and b) my cat does not like it when mamma and poppa are not home. I digress, my fiancé and I had a 4.5 day vacation to New York and a sitter was needed. I met Gail a few days before our vacation and to be perfectly honest she seemed like a sweetheart. My cat, who usually avoid strangers, seemed to take a liking to her. She wasn't pushy with the cat, and I think Kitten appreciated that--I know I did. She came with a smile, a friendly voice, and cat toys--Kitten found a new temporary momma. She seemed to have a lot of experience which was phenomenal. The best part--2 visits a day for an hour each time. Plus! They do not deal with dogs so I did not have to worry about Kitten smelling dog on a stranger in his house--he has not had many encounters with dogs but he most definitely does not like them as he hisses at them if they are in the vets office. Gail really made me feel like the priority was Kitten, and I felt confident that we were leaving him in good hands. We returned today to a concerned phone call from Gail--our flight was delayed and she left a message asking us to let her know when she comes in. We appreciated the concern and felt that someone was looking out for our cat. We came in an hour after we first anticipated to a happy kitten and some nice notes from Gail about Kitten. From the looks of it they had a blast, and based on how happy Kitten is now that we are back he seems to have enjoyed himself--in fact, I'd venture to say he misses Gail as he is still carrying a toy she brought him. Last year we went on a similar vacation and had a friend take care of him and we came back to a cat that seemed angry we left him--not this time. I really feel like we made a great decision. We will definitely brushing Casa Meow (in particular Gail) next time we go on vacation and will recommend her to anyone--we feel like not only did we get a professional and reliable cat sitter but like we found an extended family member for Kitten. read more

While the basic needs of our cats had been met during our sitter's visits, we could no longer overlook the short comings in service. We returned once to find bags of litter refuse lined up at our front door. In another visit, the slots to our cats' kibble feeders were not opened, leaving our cats unable to access their food. Our sitter lost our cheque payment to Casa Meow and we were charged a stop-payment fee. Most recently, I was yelled at over the phone when calling to confirm our cancellation of service. Our sitter's increasing lack of professionalism was insulting and had quickly surpassed what my spouse and I were willing to tolerate. The lack of communication and inaction from Casa Meow was far from reassuring, considering we had been entrusting the safety of hour pets and home to this service. We are pleased to have since switched to another pet sitting service, and the difference is night and day. read more

Although it was well over a year since we used this service, I'm still annoyed at the level of service we received by the sitter Kim and Cats Meow. She didn't refill the litter after disposing the waste even though we left a full box for her. She didn't fill the reservoir of the cat's fountain and only filing the bowl resulting in dirty water and calcium deposits. When we arrived home, two flower pots were knocked over by the cat and the soil was very dry indicating she didn't come every other day and the cat was not getting fed (Our cat never knocks plants down unless she is desperate). Most of our plants died which means she didn't water them. We paid almost $300 for this service and we received subpar service. We sent 2 emails to the company providing this service and did not receive a response at all. I guess the response to this was closing down the business which is what happened. No pet owner deserves such treatment to their pets. read more
