Great lunch at this spot right off 35 in Waco. We wanted an easy on/easy off stop that didn't require us to drive into the town of Waco of 35 so this was perfect. The green sauce that comes with the chips was delicious! I ordered a spinach and poblano sauce stuffed chicken breast covered with shrimp that was so good. Best charo beans we have had in a bit. We were traveling back to Dallas and the traffic was horrendous so we stopped here. Casa Ole. When being walked back to our table, I noticed that someone sitting in a booth was holding a kitten that could not have been more than a week old. Several workers were stopping and petting the kitten. This kitten was allergic to my sister. Sister couldn't stop sneezing. We had already ordered and thought the person holding the cat was a customer and going to leave soon. No. The person walked back into the kitchen (holding the kitten). We were already eating by this time. The food was no bueno. The fajitas tasted like Tyson frozen chicken. Didn't receive knives with our silverware. The frozen fajitas could not be cut with our fork. I would like to start out by saying that I used to go to Casa Ole pretty regular. With today being May 5th I had a craving for fajitas and margaritas. With that in mind, my family and I decided that Casa Ole would be a great place to go, we all love it there. We pulled up shortly before 6pm and with it being Cinco de Mayo, I was expecting the place to be a little busy. The first 10 min was waiting in a very crowded and much to small foyer for the hostess to show up. Once we were shown our table, the waitress showed up in short order with the chips and salsa and to take our drink order. The drinks showed up in a timely manor but that is where the problems really begin. We sat there for almost an hour and a half before we even saw our food. (This was after three failed attempts to flag our waitress down to get more drinks and asking another waitress to check on our food.) The first half of our order is placed in front of us with the manager (we found out she was the manager later) telling both my father and my wife to be careful cause their plates are hot. After she left to get the other half of the order my father tasted his beans only to find them cold. My mother went to try her veggie crisp (which the manager had mistakenly called the children's pizza). The veggies on top felt like they had just come out of a freezer. My wife's meal, the cheese had skimmed over because of it being so cold. When the manager came back out with the other food I asked to speak to the manager (here is where i found out she was the manager). I told her this was unacceptable. The food was cold (to which she acted like she couldn't believe it was cold. I had to show her by putting my finger into my wife's food). I finally told her I just wanted the bill for the drinks and to leave. I sadly no longer plan on returning to this Casa Ole. read more

I love this restaurant chain. Every time we pass through Waco, we stop here. Today's visit was the first since COVID. My Spinach Enchiladas were delicious as always. The service was a little lackluster. We stood at the front for several minutes without being greeted, there was no hostess. When someone finally came we were seated right away. The table we were taken to was dirty and had to wait for someone to come clean it. We had to flag our waitress down every time we needed a refill on drinks, chips, or salsa. Service at this location has almost always been an issue on our visits, but the food keeps bringing us back. read more

Stopped to eat at Casa Ole with my wife and we ordered our food and margaritas. The Casa Ole restaurant on South Valley Mills Drive in Waco closed years back and we would eat there when in a rush. So we remembered this one was open so we said let's go. This brought back memories for us both. Francisca G. was our waitress and she was very friendly and efficient. The drinks were good and the chips and salsa and avocado dip were still good from what we remembered. Francisca G. brought out the food soon and we enjoyed our meal. Maybe this isn't the upscale restaurants around but we were both satisfied. Will go there again. read more

Out to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, we really looked forward to eating here. BIG MISTAKE! We were seated less than 10 minutes after arriving. It took a while, but our drink orders were finally taken. After 10-15 minutes, our food orders were taken. An hour after being seated, we had no food (other than chips & salsa), and couldn't get any drink refills. We tried flagging someone down several times. FINALLY! Nearly 1 1/2 hours after arriving, our food arrived. OUR COLD FOOD. It was as if it had just been removed from the fridge. ICE COLD. Food is good, but the customer service sucks. I possess a valid handgun license provided to me BY THE STATE OF TEXAS, and I was told it was an invalid form of ID purchase alcohol with. What the heck kind of service of that!?
