This has become a regular stop for us when we visit Laughlin! It's a very casual restaurant with cute decor everywhere and plenty of seating. The chips are always fresh and they give you two different types of salsa, regular and spicy. The regular is delicious and the spicy definitely has a kick! The food I always good, nothing fancy but always tasty! I had the chilaquiles and they let you choose between red and green sauce. I chose red and it was so good! I'm rating this as a1 star because the quality of food and service has declined rapidly since October of last year and now with them only taking cash it has made it to where we don't want to go. My husband ordered the 4 tacos with chicken and I ordered the same with carne asada. My husband got way more chicken than I got asada. His was double! How do you serve like that!!! It really bums me out that I have to leave such a negative review when I originally joined Yelp to give praise and love Don Laughlin's Riverside Casino. Especially since we come here every year for bowling. We sat up at the bar, enjoyed some chips and salsa while figuring out what we wanted to eat and drink. The salsa was probably the only positive experience on this visit. We ordered Cadillac margaritas that were insanely sweet, so much so that we didn't even finish them and stuck to our waters. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla. BIG mistake. The shrimp was obviously frozen/pre cooked so they were very hard, small, and not enjoyable what so ever. I ate maybe half when I should have just sent it back. I didn't say anything, lesson learned. However, when my boyfriend ordered the tacos he requested hard shell and they brought out soft with the fixings on the side (lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream, etc). When he told the bartender about the mistake he took it back to the kitchen with attitude and not even 5 minutes later came back out with what was more of a flauta type of flaky "shell", cold meat and no fixings as the taco had on the side before. It was literally just cold meat with a flaky shell and grease dripping out everywhere. When we asked about the toppings that a taco would normally come with (everything listed above, maybe some onions and cilantro) he gave us attitude stating that's not what we asked for and all we asked for was hard shell tacos. I was shocked! How is a soft taco any different from a hard taco aside from the shell?! After stating my feelings as I just did, he goes to the back and then haves us a plate with just sour cream and guacamole. He must have missed the part when we specifically requested the lettuce and tomato that came with the last tacos, just like he missed our request of them being hard to begin with. Maybe sitting at the bar wasn't a good idea and we should have just requested a table to begin with. It definitely would have saved us from listening to the phone ringing off the hook in our ears because nobody would answer it while passing by. That definitely put a damper on the ambiance. Such a horrible experience, enough to where we won't be going back. If zero stars was a thing this experience would definitely be worthy of that. read more

I have been here before and food was good. I'm writing this review regarding the staff including manager lack of professionalism and customer service. I called ahead of time to ask when they close, we came in in a party of 15, showed up 40 minutes before closing and they said they were going home early. That's why we called and coordinated 4 families to meet there just to have the staff close early. They also turned away a party of 3 and another party of 5. To all my friends out there from CA or AZ or NM looking for "real" Mexican food go to your own CASA but the food at Casa Serrano has been great as it always has been. They have hot salsa good rife n beans. Shrimp Al mojo we ano and zacatecas are great. Mexican flag of enchiladas are yummy. If you want great Menudo/posole go to Bullhead and go to Liz's or El Charro but this place is nice at the Riverside. Another had a Quesadilla, another had a burrito, another had the Tres Tostadas (each one had chicken or beef or shredded pork and she couldn't eat it all, another got a single crispy taco and another got a salad (did not look like a salad it was so packed with chicken and veggies). This is a Friday night and when I called them last week to see if they take reservations they said no and that Fridays are their busiest day of the week. Second, the NEGATIVES: 1) EVERYTHING was FLAVORLESS! Strongly suspect that the "cook" must have been an unsupervised apprentice who confuses flavor with salt and more salt. 2) Rice & beans tasted as though they were fresh out of cans sometime earlier in the day....DRY, SALTY, and did I mention DRY? 3) Enchiladas were undistinguishable as enchiladas and they were tasteless. 4) Chile relleno was tiny and over cooked...sad, sad.... Wife and I drove in from San Diego and we love Mexican food. If you're in the area try the original Miguel's at Point Loma. It's a tradition to come here while in Laughlin. It was recommended by a friend right before my first trip. They have lunch specials that run Monday through Thursday which look to be a good value. I've never ordered an alcoholic drink here so I can't speak to the potency of those. However, the sodas are served in large cups which is appreciated when you've been walking on the riverfront all day in the hot sun. They start you off with chips and two types of salsa, both of which are very tasty and not that hot. The service is prompt which is very appreciated. I ordered a chicken fajita salad which was delicious and filling. All the employees I've interacted with were very friendly and very thorough when answering questions in regards to the menu. Went to Casa Serrano last night and arrived at 5:30. We did not get our meal until 6:45 not to mention no setup or refills on my husband's Ice-T. The waitress asked me if I wanted a beer and I ordered a Corona with a lime, she repeated it. The bus boy brought me my beer and left quickly. There was no lime and after not seeing my waitress for a long time I sent the beer back. About an 40 minutes later she came to ask why I didn't have the beer. The bus boy was walking around very slowly and moving in slow motion. We asked him for some more chips and salsa which was our third time asking for them. He replied very stern that it was a $1.99 extra. I seriously don't care how much something costs when I go out to eat I don't mind paying for it. He was very rude! I heard many people around us complaining about the service our waitress and this busboy we're giving out. It is really embarrassing to me being a local and seeing out-of-towners treated like this. They seriously need to get some help that is worth waiting on their patrons. I am seriously considering never returning again. It appears to me the facility is more interested in recouping their losses from the last year than attending to their patrons.
