    Taco Salad
    Tammy B.

We were visiting family in Bullhead and dined here with them. So glad we did. The restaurant was clean and not too noisy even though it was busy on a Sunday late afternoon. The food tasted great. It is probably considered somewhat "Americanized", but that is not a bad thing snd they also had more authentic items. Hubby had the taco salad and said it was one of the best he has had. I tried a bite and it was very good . The shell was taller than any I have ever had and it was light without being too messy...always some mess when you order a taco salad. We will definitely return when we are in town.

Our first time here. You'll notice it's pretty loud the second you step in. Not too loud, but noticeable. We are greeted and ask for drinks, which we get quickly. We order and get our chips and salsa right after. The salsa is a medium, so perfect for me. In 14-minutes we get our food and it is colorful and smells great. It has been a long time since I had the whole fish. Glad I got it here. It is smoking hot, crunchy and well seasoned. It's basically like eating fried chicken but it's a fish. Most the bones are course enough to remove so you get great pieces of crunchy fish. Very good. My wife loved the rancheros, plenty of sauce and great on a tortilla. The thing that surprised me, is this place serves everything. I was thinking a nice burger. Then I saw a Philly steak sandwich and a Alfredo pasta dish. A Hugh appetizer menu and 3 different folks attending to our needs. A very impressive place run here. If you want anything. Just come here. I look forward to having the many items on the menu. My friends were right, this place is amazing. Good work kids!

I think this is the best Mexican joint in this town. They have a lunch special that used to be super cheap, but due to inflation prices had to eventually go up. 12.95 lunch specials starting at 11am...they start you off with some piping hot chips and a big bowl of salsa...now this particular day the salsa was incredible..hot, delicious. They will refill a basket of chips once free of charge...and this time, they gave us a refill on salsa... we polished the whole bowl off...so good!! Staff is so friendly here, I ordered the cheese enchilada, shredded beef taco combo and hub got the two ground beef tacos. Portions were pretty big for the price point. Love this place and will be back...if I had one bad thing to say..I would say invest in a water filter, because the tap water tastes not so good.

Place was decent, very busy for lunch. Bathroom was relatively clean, but the women's door was propped wide open into the restaurant. Food arrived hot on room temp plates. For Mexican food, it was extremely bland. Bland chicken, bland beef. No taste. I likely wouldn't eat here again if I remained in town.

This restaurant is located in Bullhead's City across the street from Walmart, just off HWY95. It's in a small strip mall and shares parking with the other stores. I was greeted soon after I entered and given the choice of a booth or table. It has a small bar area and a big screen TV. I had their steak fajita, serving sizes was big enough for me to have leftovers for dinner. You have a choice of corn or flour tortillas. Salsa had a little bit of a bite to it but not overpowering. Staff was very friendly and checked in with me frequently to make sure I had everything I needed or to refill my drink glass. Give them a try. I'll go back whenever I'm in Bullhead's.

Well the food was not good today. I've been there a few times and it's always been good. Had hamburgers. They were dry. They looked like they were from the freezer. The french fries were freezer fries. It was not good food and when I went to the counter cuz we took everything home for the dogs. The the girl at the counter said how was everything I said not good and she said oh we should have told the waiter I'm like. Yeah okay. He hardly came to the table we didn't get but one refill and I didn't even get a refill. First I was with did but from somebody else it took too much time to get the mayonnaise and the ketchup for the hamburgers and french fries to enjoy and plus the hamburger. My bun was totally burnt and it was just horrible and it was cold so I don't know how it was burnt and cold unless it sat there for a long time. So tomorrow will. The story is if you go in there what a Mexican food don't order the hamburgers. Also the people at the counter whoever was out there didn't care that $40 worth of food was going home for the dogs. Very disappointing. It's a nice restaurant. The ambiance is good. It's comfortable good seating. The bathroom stalls don't lock so it was a little uncomfortable in the bathroom.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best Mexican food on either side of the Colorado. Starting with the freshly made corn and flour tortillas (I usually eat flour tortillas, but at El Charro, I will choose corn tortillas 99.9% of the time.) The chips are terrific with two salsas brought to the table. The Choriqueso is a cheesy deliciousness. I am not really a pozole fan, but here, it is very good and really has an awesome taste. I always get their menudo. Lots of honey comb and a good ratio of corn to meat. For me, the fact that I can get pata is great because it is becoming harder to find many restaurants that will provide you with that delicacy. I always alternate between their different tacos and this time I got a tripa taco. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is great here. Well fried and crispy and with their hotter salsa spread over it, with fresh tortilla, I am in heaven. From my first trip to this restaurant, I have always loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. It truly feels like a great little Mexican restaurant and I am happy to see they have expanded. I envy all you folks who live in Bullhead City and have easy access to this restaurant. I live in Phoenix and no trip to Laughlin is complete without a stop to El Charro.

Fantastic. Cooked like it had something to prove. Juicy, flavorful, and honestly the kind of steak that makes you pause mid-bite and reconsider your life choices up to that point. But let's be honest--Pam Pam stole the show. Pam Pam doesn't just bartend... she commands the bar. Drinks don't get made, they get orchestrated. I'm pretty sure she made my cocktail with one hand, took three orders, solved a minor dispute, and still had time to roast me for not knowing what I wanted. Efficient? Yes. Intimidating? Slightly. Entertaining? Absolutely. At one point I'm convinced she knew what I was going to order before I did. I asked for a recommendation and she looked at me like, "You strike me as someone who thinks they want whiskey but really needs a margarita." She was right. I didn't question it. The vibe? Somewhere between a high-end steakhouse and a family party where the funniest relative is in charge. You're not just a customer--you're part of the show whether you planned on it or not. Final verdict: Steak: Drinks: Pam Pam: deserves her own TV series Would I come back? Without hesitation. Would I sit at the bar again? The young man working the register, serving drinks, bussing tables by and cleaning up around the whole seating area and buffet area was the only one really working and the only friendly person there. All the food looked old and dry, some worse than others and we had to ask a couple of times if they could make more because it looked gross and really old(what was left anyways) all of the desserts were literally hard as rocks, even my favorite donut sugar balls. Taste was off and they were hard and crunchy. I literally showed my hubs by jamming my fork in it (took three tries) and tapping it on the plate. Hard as a rock. Sushi looked and tasted great but the stir fry ingredients were all dried out, including the sliced meats. There was an older man there, the older always grumpy faced lady and the two younger girls there but they didn't do much. There was an older gentleman who walked in and stood waiting at the register for quite a while before saying "hello?!" I had to tell the young girl that the man needed help but she didn't help him. The older lady just stood at the back watching and the young man came running out from making drinks to help this man. Because when we got there everything was either old and gross looking or the tray we're almost empty, I didn't eat much. Oh and since all the desserts were old and rock hard hubs tried to get an ice cream but unfortunately there was none. Boo Sad that no one there seems to care about the quality of the food and service. There over an hr and not once did anyone ask if we needed anything or refill our drinks. Oh and the booth back rest was broken so the big guy seated behind me had me bouncing around in my seat every time he moved. Which he did a lot. Annoying.

We stayed 5.5 miles away, on the River Walk, made the leisurely return drive to Bonito once we saw the colorful frontage on an earlier foray into Bullhead City for necessary provisions once we RECOILED from the sky high prices at the Harrah's Tropicana (ex, $7.49 for a 20oz jar of Diet Pepsi). BG greets its guests with festive, brightly painted dark orange. We began our course with a titanic mango margarita. To their credit, they feature warmed bean dip topped with crumbled queso fresco as an accompaniment to their chips/salsa. Leti, after choosing BG for its seafood heavy menu, threw a curve and opted for a bowl of birria soup. I chose an Asada Chimichanga with a duo of asada tacos dorados. The tortillas are handmade and delicious! Both Leti and I marveled at the quality of the house Mexican rice, super fresh, fluffed and teeming with a light, florid tomato-dense taste complimented by Lima beans. Quite the refreshing departure from the bland rice dispensed by 90% of Mexican restaurants! My wife said that her Caldo de Birria was good...but that it wasn't super plentiful in meat. My chimi arrived golden brown with a heap of melted cheddar jack cheese bullseyed on the top. The interior is studded with asada, bell peppers and onions. First time I've ever seen bell peppers utilized inside burritos! The asada crunchy (dorado) tacos were generously stuffed with asada...but zero accompaniments like onions/cilantro/lettuce or tomato. I hadta redeploy the lettuce/tomato served alongside my chili, inside my tacos! If you're gonna charge $5/Taco at least send them properly attired! Gentle suggestion: Consider offering guests a side serving of fresh lettuce, tomato, diced onions and cilantro to dress up their tacos. Or, serve them with a ramekin of steamy birria broth... The mango marg was not "super sweet" (as our server Daniela had described) and we both thought it was stingy on the tequila, esp for its $16.99 belt, er, tab. Our bill was $86 incl taxes and tip for two entrees, a cocktail and a soda.
