I just visited for the second time, and the service has been quick and friendly both times. I recently tried the chicken enchiladas verde which were pretty decent. Last visit I had the chicken fajita quesadilla which is probably my favorite. It's a great location not far off 380 and close to the North Liberty area. It's quieter and has plenty of parking, so it's super convenient. We'll definitely be back! read more

All right with this place, this a huge place and a probably the only restaurant in this town of Johnson county. I like mexican food. Like really like. Not a fan of Americanized mexican food but this felt I was having a good meal in Houston Texas. Overall this place has a good vibe with outdoor seating options and with a huge indoor space for dining. I love their huge dinner portions. Also a big fan of their mushroom and onions quesadillas, it is delicious. They have taco Tuesday too, way better flavored taco for a dollar. Their salsa is cold and fresh. Feels good after hogging on those chips. Recently also tried their quesso was nice too. In less than a month, I stopped by almost weekly here. Don't forget about their drink specials. Their jumbo lime margaritas are addictive ;) Also they are fairly quick, even after being busy all the time. read more

Called an order in for 3 chicken enchilada dinners, got home with it and only one meal in the bag. Called and the guy on the phone said and I quote, "I'm busy, what do you want me to do" I'm not the one that screwed up the order, he should have been trying to figure out a solution, We go there/call in for take out a lot, no more, seams its been slowly getting worse. They're plenty busy so they don't have to worry about repeat customers. Other places that'll gladly take a new customer. read more

Did not honor the lunch special prices even though I came in during lunch time... got the full charge for half the portion. Food was not even fresh it's complete garbage I wouldn't even feed my dog. What a complete waste of money, I regret leaving them a tip that's how bad this place was. I'm never coming back to this awful restaurant. read more

This place is GOOD. Used to go to a Mexican Restaurant in Iowa River Landing but this place blows it out of the water! Service is great, food is great, and the vibes are always good. chips and salsa were great! I'm used to getting a nice serving size of beans/rice and lettuce/ guacamole with my fajitas. I got very little with my meal which was extremely disappointing for the price. We also had to send back a plate due to one of the tamales being burnt. Thrilled to find authentic Mexican food in Iowa on our summer RV road trip. Definitely the exception rather than the rule - most "mexican" food in the midwest is anything but. The staff was friendly and attentive and provided us great service. We enjoyed the enchiladas divorciadas, coctel del camaron, steak ranchero, and queso fundido with some lime margaritas and a Dos Equis Amber. This was fine with the only highlight being the taste of the rice. Salsa had a lot of chili powder. Guac was so creamy I wonder if it had sour cream in it. Tamale was dry. Chicken taco was better Than the pork or chorizo. read more

We went in for lunch on a Monday. My partner and I ordered the lunch fajitas. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. Our waitress was short and abrupt. And didn't check on us again until we were done eating. It's a nice clean restaurant. I just feel like the food and service were not worth the price we paid for our meal. read more

This place is right up the road from my house, so I've checked it out a few times. They are very generous with their margaritas, which is always a huge plus on my eyes! The food itself hasn't left me blown away but has also never left me seriously disappointed. The service is always great whether you're eating in or taking out. It's not a place I'd be looking at if I was in the mood for truly authentic Mexican flavors, but it's still a fun place to get a bite and some drinks before a night out. read more

Relocated to The New York last year, just off of I-380, Casa Tequila is a fantastic spot with lots of space. Great margaritas! Love their taco salad and they have a grilled half pineapple with fajita fixings in it that is to die for (Can't remember what they call it on the menu). Limited parking in front, but ample parking in the back. Patio seating in the summer allows you to enjoy the view! read more

A hidden gem. We were very pleased with the food. Despite forgetting my side of rice twice, everything was delicious. We each had something different and equally enjoyed our meal. Son in law had a stuffed pineapple, daughter had vegetarian tostada and enchilada, I had the vegetarian nachos and my husband had pork tacos. The guacamole is so good. We had some left over and asked them for a to go container and they refilled it! They also never charged me for my rice. That rarely happens and while not necessary, was appreciated. Buyer beware. The prices on menu do not REFLECT the actual price you will pay. They say the company that printed the menu's put down the wrong prices!?! Then correct them with a whiteout pen, thinking this might be illegal for them to do. You have to insist to get a paper copy of the receipts. Another thing is they have posted if you pay cash you get a 4% discount. Nope.... Food is the best for Tiffin but some of the sneaky tactics makes me worry about eating there again. PRICES CHARGED DO NOT MATCH THE MENU'S. I contacted the BBB. read more

The environment in La Casa is festive and bright. There was a crowd but the restaraunt wasn't too loud. For my meal I had the Enchiladas Veredes. I really enjoy the tang tomatillos add to any sauce and La Casa's fit the bill. The chicken I had in the enchiladas was well spiced but a bit dry. The service was excellent. The waiter was prompt and friendly! read more

Casa Tequila is a fun restaurant with pretty good Mexican food (especially for Iowa). We had no idea it was open because we don't live in the Tiffin area, but were glad a friend suggested that we try it. Pros: Good food (with generous portions) and drinks for affordable prices. We tried the Molcajete, and it was a great dish for two people to share. Lots of good meat, cheese and veggies served with tortillas. We also enjoyed the margaritas. Cons: Tiffin is a drive if you don't live in the area. I think Casa Tequila is worth the trip, but it's not as accessible as some other area restaurants. read more

I'm a little surprised with how good the ratings are. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? I ordered fiesta nachos and a steak taco plate. The tacos did not come with anything on them. It came with a cup of pico de gallo for you to put on yourself. Tacos weren't very good and dry. The rice and beans were good. The nacho plate was just okay..? The chips and salsa didn't taste fresh and the salsa was extremely watery. read more

Ok. We're escapees from California (San Diego) and therefore Mexican food snobs so we've driven by here countless times with our noses in the air but tonight Johns ice cream was closed so we decided to try it. It was very fast service and fresh and just right. Complete with the right Mexican music and accents. Good salsa. My shrimp burrito was massive and mainly shrimp and lettuce with perfect avocado. My wife's mushroom quesadilla was really tasty and the side plate was enough for two. We will be back with a changed attitude. read more

I have eaten at Casa Tequila more times than I can count and I have was at least good. My favorites are definitely their seafood selection. I love the fish tacos and my usual is the Camarones Tequila that comes with tilapia. For desert I recommend their Flan. The service is normally pretty quick from taking my order to delivering the food. read more

We stopped here while traveling down I-80 on a cross-country trip. It's conveniently close to the interstate, so it was nice not having to travel far off the path. The place had good reviews, so we figured we'd give it a shot. This turned out to be a great choice. The restaurant smelled wonderfully of fresh Mexican food. I ordered a pastor taco and it was terrific and I appreciate how onions and cilantro were served separately on the plate. I ordered a #7 - a chile rellano and beef enchilada with rice & beans. It really hit the spot. This little family owned restaurant is great. If you're in the area or passing through, it's the perfect spot to grab some fresh Mexican food. read more

My family visits here when we are craving Mexican. We are always seated right away. The chips and salsa are yummy. My only complaint is sometimes my taco salad is very watery and not a lot of lettuce. But other than that the food is great and always hot. read more

The food was good for lunchtime get away. Didn't care for the sliced avocado on top of the burrito...something that was corrected eight away. The soda drink tasted like sediment. I'm thinking it could be the water system in town...definitely needs a filter system. Other than that, I will be back. read more

Love this place for its prices and delicious food. For a town that has no stoplights, this place is great. It's mildly authentic compared to La Regia but much more than other Mexican places in Coralville. I love their tamales! The atmosphere is great and family-friendly. Service is fast unless the place is slammed - which can happen on weekends. Still, if you're waiting a long time for food, the free chips and salsa helps. read more

Rayo has a done a good job repurposing the space, including using the room in the back for various events. Service has been solid and I'm happy to have another place to find a breakfast burrito in town!
