We visited the restaurant on a Saturday around 5 PM in May 2026. Despite there only being about eight tables occupied and four waitresses working, it took roughly 15 minutes before we received chips and salsa, and another five minutes after that to finally get our drinks. When our waitress brought the drinks, we asked her to go through the menu as it was very overwhelming (I would say there is about 100 options) even though we eat Mexican food pretty regularly. She described the tacos as the "safe" option and highly recommended the chimichangas. My boyfriend ordered the chimichanga while I chose the casa birria tacos. After placing our order, we looked up reviews online and started to feel a little nervous. Unfortunately, the food ended up being pretty mediocre. The beef chimichanga tasted more like seasoned hamburger meat than shredded beef, the beans had a strange aftertaste, and the quesabirria tacos were overwhelmingly salty. The worst part came afterward. Within 24 hours, both of us became extremely sick. My boyfriend especially had severe stomach issues all night. Honestly, it felt like a warning sign considering the three previous times we tried to eat there, the restaurant had either been unexpectedly closed or shut down for the day. read more

Service was excellent. We lived in tucson for nearly 25 years and this restaurant is reminiscent of what we've missed over the last 8 years. Great food. Margaritas were the best. I might do another one later when they work out all the kinks but a lot of problems First the good. They are using an old red lobster location so the facilities are pretty solid. Plenty of staff and the food was on the positive side of ok. Has a bar top and also traditional American fare on the menu (burgers) The bad: Staff needs big time training. Disorganized seating order and food got delivered to different tables (though this was fixed quickly) Steak in burrito was somewhat gristled but the burrito wasn't bad. And good chips and salsa at the start. I think with some development and getting past growing pains a higher rating is not far away. But for now there are other places for a Friday night read more

Still reminds me of red lobster. Just in atmosphere. The service was decent. You start with chips and salsa. Really good and homemade for sure. Ask for the hot.... It's hot. Every thing we ate was really good. The carne asada was delicious. It's hard to get a thin ribeye cooked properly without overcooking it. Mine was tender and perfectly seared. I thought the food was good. Anything I've ordered tasted great. The 2 issues I have is #1. On Doordash under the All Tacos section it says all taco orders come with beans and rice. Ive ordered taco dinners 2 times and never received the beans or the rice. #2. Last 2 times I was going to order from them I called to see if I had to pay extra for the rice and beans which is fine.. First time trying this restaurant, food was just so so. We ordered the cheese dip with a side of pickled jalapeños, 3 enchiladas, burrito and fajitas. The cheese dip was good, but the jalapeños were sliced and not spicy at all. I ordered the three enchiladas 1 beef, 1 chicken and 1 cheese. The chicken was very dry and not edible. The beef was hamburger! And the cheese was just ok. It came with a side of rice which I did not want or ordered. Fajitas were not good. Tasted like it was not grilled skirt steak but stir fried meat. Service was spotty changed waitress half way through the meal, they overcharged us for two different things. We went last week. The food and service were very good. Tried to go again this week, but the restaurant was dark, with no cars in the parking lot. The same thing today, 11/14/2025. No lights in the restaurant, and no cars in the parking lot. There is no news about the closure, and no one is answering the phone. Pity, our first experience was very good. Chicken fajita was descent, chicken isn't grilled but it was still good (flour torts could be larger, they are quite small) Burritos were beef and chicken and they liked them also. Service was good, HOWEVER, It's so RUDE to only speak English when talking with your guest while constantly in front of you speak only Spanish to your co-workers. You stand there waiting to be seated, they ask how many, then immediately switch to Spanish and talk amongst themselves at great length. Seat you and continue to do the same. NOT once during our 2 hour visit did the workers ever speak English amongst themselves in our presence. We attended a birthday celebration last evening. First I want to say that our waitress was great. The food was terrible. The salmon was over cooked and leathery. I couldn't cut it with a knife. The waitress brought out another plate and it was the same. The broccoli and asparagus was raw. My husbands steak fajita was ok but the meat was tough. The birthday girl's chicken fajita was not edible with tough chicken. Casa Tequila needs to hire a better cook with more training. We will not be going back. read more

Was excited to try this place but it was very disappointing. Food was good not great. Service was not great. Waitress definitely needs more training on customer service and communication with customers. And it was not busy so should not have been an issue. Very rushed and didn't seem to care or want to care. My margarita was $5.50 for a regular marg but I chose to upgrade my tequila making the drink 13.00.. definitely was not worth it and did not taste like a 13.00 margarita. Did not finish it, they definitely need to work on the margarita recipe. Menu pictures do not match how food is served. I asked about the sauce that comes with the carne asada tacos and she said it doesn't come with sauce. I mentioned the menu shows it's being served with two sauces. She came back and said no. Food was great! The service was really fast. I had the burrito el Gordo and it was delicious.

When walking in we were greeted by an unfriendly hostess. Not rude just unfriendly. The wait of about 15 minutes was expected as they seemed busy when finding a spot. The waitress was very nice and quick to make sure we got our drinks. The wait after ordering for the food to arrive was close to 30 mins. We both tried the enchiladas supreme. It comes beef, been, chicken and cheese. The chicken was beyond dry and chewy. The cheese was good as were the beans and beef. The sauces used were tasteless and when Taco Bell tastes better that's scary. The free chips and salsa were good but I expected house made chips but they were definitely bag. And the last thing that kills me in this day and age that no one uses cash is the fact they charge 3% for using a card. That just bothers me but that's my personal thought on it. Anyway. Wait til they figure it out and get better hostesses. Or just tell them to fake happy if they can't be friendly. read more
