Living and working in San Francisco, I was unable to attend the weekday service so I searched on Yelp for a florist who could put together an arrangement on behalf of my family and me. I called about five days before the service and asked whether they could help me. She took my name and helped me compose a card to accompany our flowers. Her florals truly elevated our wedding at Allied Arts Guild, and it would not have been the same without her beautiful work. During our initial phone call, I shared some inspo photos, and Eunice took the time to understand my vision--discussing colors, flower preferences, and more. I made a few adjustments to our floral needs before the wedding, and Eunice was always kind and communicative. I even forgot about the flower girl petals until a couple of days before, and Eunice graciously provided them for us. On the wedding day, the florals turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Eunice considered details I hadn't even thought of, like matching my bridal bouquet ribbon to my husband's tie and coordinating the bridesmaid bouquet ribbons with their dresses. She also helped reposition the boutonnieres while we were taking pre-ceremony photos. We were able to repurpose the ceremony flowers for our reception, which helped us save on our budget. My husband and I have been getting arrangements from her for years, so when it came time for us to get married there was no question who we wanted to work with. She really is exceptional at what she does - a true artist. I gave a few notes on likes/dislikes but wanted to give Liz creative freedom and she really out did herself. She even met with us at Pleasanton rentals and helped us make some design choices so everything would be cohesive; such a nice touch. Delivery had been promised so it meant a hassle for relatives living 1,800 miles away. Jory's is closed on Mondays. Maybe that was the hang-up, but delivery had been promised. When they finally arrived, I was greeted with a "Sorry." The flowers were beautiful and so was the amber tone mosaic vase. (I am still enjoying the vase now filled with some dried fall flowers.) But here is where things get a bit strange. When I was rinsing out the vase, I noticed two stickers on the bottom. One said Mervyn's $39.99 and the other said Goodwill $8.99. Mervyn's closed many years ago so today's retail value of the vase would be much more. Who knows how it ended up at Goodwill and then made its way to Jory's. I don't have an issue with recycling from thrift stores. I do it myself. What was very odd to me was Jory's did not take a minute or two to remove the stickers. Very tacky. This would have been a five-star review if the flowers had arrived on time and in a vase that did not show its thrift store origins.
